Despite doing nothing to earn the job to begin with, Sheridan did nothing to keep it but he did do plenty to prove he shouldn’t have a second year particularly due to his offense showing absolutely ZERO signs of life/improvement, zero ability to adapt, zero ability to find creative ways to get something going, [beyond] zero ways to get Milroe, who has elite talent and potential, comfortable and get him some confidence back, and being incapable of adding ANY new wrinkles over a month long period to use against Michigan to surprise them and find a way to beat an inferior roster and team to keep our 10 win season streak going that us Bama fans took so much pride in (and took an immeasurable amount of blood sweat and tears from all the previous players and coaches who gave it all and had pride in performance and held themselves to a standard this staff simply will never understand or come close to even sniffing). Sheridan was constantly out schemed and SEC caliber DCs were 2 steps ahead of him always making better adjustments than he even thought of making out of halftime. He is simply out of his league in the SEC which is full of elite, experienced, proven coaches. His 2 years as OC of Indiana is a laughable. After such an abysmal year, he is still somehow employed as our OC. We all know it is b/c he is such good buddies with DeBoer and their families are close. Reason #286 why DeBoer can’t handle the Alabama job or any elite CFB job. This is a production based business. Do your part on the team to help us win. Don’t do your job and don’t prove you are an asset that is too valuable to lose and you are fired. Simple as that. You can’t review this season and watch the tape and in any way convince yourself Sheridan did enough for another year. Don’t want to hear the absolute BS of “Milroe hamstrung him.” Sheridan hamstrung Milroe. Tommy Reese was good enough as an OC to use his players to their strengths to win the SEC. Sheridan had MORE than enough talent to win it all honestly. Keep Sheridan as playcaller and imagine that snowball being balled up and rolled down the hill Give Kiffin or Sark this offense and honestly, you don’t think they could have led this roster full of blue chips to a SEC Championship at minimum? No doubt in my mind they take this roster to the playoffs easily. Sark and Kiffin have no more than 2 losses with this team. Take Caleb Odom for example. Now, I don’t think he was ready to come in and start day one and be able to handle to talent jump from HS to the SEC like Hollywood was able to. However, with his size and rare length at the WR position, he was a player we could have desperately used at the end of the year and without question this year after losing half our WR room. Didn’t see him develop or improve ANY from day one to the Auburn game. NONE. A player with that talent and skill set should at least be developed to where they are able to make a few plays here and there to show hey “this dude has potential moving forward.” Some of that probably falls on his poor attitude but most is on our mediocre coaching staff and DeBoer’s ability to see this is a new era of CFB where you have to give a little and get these promising kids involved in order to keep them in the program. Never saw Sheridan try getting Odom the ball in a creative way all year. Outside of Hollywood and Germ, it’s not like we had such tremendous WR depth that he wasn’t good enough to see the field 10-15 snaps a games. DeBoer better hope Amari Jefferson doesn’t go to UT and show out. All that talent he had also and for him to play less than Odom and develop absolutely NONE is another sign of poor coaching. It all falls back on Nick Sheridan not being able to get kids the ball through mismatches, rub routes, pick plays, etc.

Keep Sheridan as playcaller and imagine that snowball being balled up and rolled down the hill
Give Kiffin or Sark this offense and honestly, you don’t think they could have led this roster full of blue chips to a SEC Championship at minimum? No doubt in my mind they take this roster to the playoffs easily. Sark and Kiffin have no more than 2 losses with this team.
Take Caleb Odom for example. Now, I don’t think he was ready to come in and start day one and be able to handle to talent jump from HS to the SEC like Hollywood was able to.
However, with his size and rare length at the WR position, he was a player we could have desperately used at the end of the year and without question this year after losing half our WR room.
Didn’t see him develop or improve ANY from day one to the Auburn game. NONE. A player with that talent and skill set should at least be developed to where they are able to make a few plays here and there to show hey “this dude has potential moving forward.”
Some of that probably falls on his poor attitude but most is on our mediocre coaching staff and DeBoer’s ability to see this is a new era of CFB where you have to give a little and get these promising kids involved in order to keep them in the program.
Jalen mbak is overrated imo
