I love Florence. believe it or not this is the video that made me realize that I was in a toxic, emotional abusive relationship, so without it I strongly think I wouldn't have be where I am now. I have grown so much just from watching the creativity of this video and interpreting to my life. Music not only speaks, but heals yall, it's powerful. This is indeed her house she said it in the coachella interview right before the video premiere. She said that the reason why she used her house in this videoclip was because this album is really personal and she thought the best platform to show it would be the house where she wrote most of her songs for this album.. the house that saw her fight with all of her demons during the creation of this record. the house that saw her wrecked & destroyed therefore the title of the song and the wanted to portrait that in this video. The purpose of this was to let her fans in and get to know her for who she really is and we could get to see the place where all the magic & inspiration happened for "how big, how blue, how beautiful" and in case you wonder why the name of the title she also mentioned that it's a reference for the sky.This album is about the elements. being connected with nature.
It was also inspired by the night she did her "get lucky" cover. There's an Ellen interview which she talks about how she imitated her house party from that night into the video.

I stumbled on this by accident and I have to say I'm one of those 40 something fogies who usually comments stuff like "where are all the good songwriters like Joni and Carole and Dylan? Modern music sucks." Well, I certainly have a lot to learn. There are TONS of true artists out there right now.

Wow, she clearly views herself as self-destructive in relationships. This video and the lyrics suggest she loses control and often doesn't realise it until the aftermath. I like the vulnerability of choosing to shoot it in her own home. It's so devastating and emotional. I wonder if she has demons she is dealing with. If she is, I hope her art is her catharsis.

Its always dope how a song can be written one way but open to be interpreted to fit people as it may to them and their lifes experiences and shit. Same lyrics heard by all but different metaphorical meaning to them as to each their own. Thats when you know a brilliant song was written. And no one is wrong, because it would be a travesty if the narrative was just one way and one feeling as arrogant as that sounds- although people can be weird; some will insist and want it one way and to fit the narrative they deem to see fit which is incorrectly narcissistic and not how music should ever be- boxed in like that. All the videos fit together in the order that they came out. I put them all together and when are all out, it will be complete. In HBHBHB, she walks into the woods to find her life. In what kind of man, she has found her life with a man, and then at the end gets into a car crash. In St Jude, she walks up in the woods from the car crash and and at the end sees a dark cloud coming toward her as she walks away. This video starts with it raining and ends with her laying down, exhausted. I can't wait for the next video.

As someone with Borderline PD.... this is like a visual representation of the turmoil in my head in every relationship (romantic, familial or what have you). This constant fighting with myself that leaks out into fights with them, the calm facade that feels like the thinnest veneer over my internal anxiety, likely to tear open at the slightest upheaval, the disjointed thoughts and cloudy memory and exhaustion and vibrancy...

“I can’t help but pull the earth around me, to make my bed” - I saw comments saying this was alcoholism, and I’m so amazed how Florence can write a song that can be interpreted so many ways.
I always thought the line was about seeing yourself as someone that takes up space, and doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process.
I love how empowered Florence is these videos. 1:34 really shows her power and integrity - she shoves him away, denying him any vestige of 'more'. The only time she's a victim is when its to herself. She creates her own storms - but I think what we're leading up to with the track How big How Blue How Beautiful ,is the moment where she'll move above the storm into that blue, which she fighting for within herself.

Yes, it is about one's destruction in relationship. This is denoted through the use of "did I build this ship to wreck". In other words, a ship wreck or a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Almost the entire time I have been dealing with chronic homelessness, Borderline Personality Disorder and substance abuse. Just about everyday I contemplate suicide all day long. 28 years homeless as of a few days ago. And yet I can't bring myself to end my life. OK so for anyone who doesn't know, otp stands for "one true pairing" which is basically two people who you think would be/are really good in a relationship together. THAT is called shipping. I love this song. Fantastic poetic lyrics such as "I can't help but wrap the earth around me, to make my bed" - kind of sums up weird places we wake up after a drinking binge, such as a hotel front garden. I have never seen this video before, and found it hilarious, how Florence is watching herself madly crashing around in a drunken rampage, breaking up parties and relationships. It has a sad underlying message, but it's also funny because we have all done these things in our student days. I love her voice too. Quivering with emotion and with the power of a tigress roar.

The red light scene in the video, where she’s battling her “Other Self” and Her lover is caught in the middle of the chaos is so profound. I see myself in that scene and how I’ve been in every relationship I ever had especially the part where she pulls him for a brace and then pushes him away and starts punching the chair. I know that exact feeling she’s portraying the constant pull and push.
