Am I the only one who feels like Eggman's plan to swap Sonic's shoes with rigged ones that make him run really slow was probably the smartest idea Eggman had ever came up with? Not a good idea for a game, better off as an idea for some Sonic Boom episode but really tho.
ACACE10 Well in reality yes but let's remember that these are a series of games for kids. Something like that would be quite traumatizing for a little one. But then again, A lot of Eggman's robots are equipped with live rounds and explosives. Look at Sonic 2006's robots for example. I don't know, his 300IQ is really questionable. Then again Eggman is really Self-Centered so He could just be saying he has an IQ of 300 but no one has really tested him to know that, they just assume that's true.
+SexualBread Ninja If you can get close enough to his shoes to replace them with "slow shoes" then why don't you just put a couple of explosives in them instead. It would definitely get the job done a bit quicker.
You know what's really tragic? Sega has a lot of material for a sequel. There are so many Sonic games which deserve a sequel... Sonic Colours 2, Sonic Unleashed 2, FUCKING Sonic Adventure 3! But of all the games to expand upon, they chose sonic boom. (it doesn't even deserve a fucking capital letter at the start of it's name)
RabbidLuigi, as a Sonic fan, dedicated... ... THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Seriously, and without any cynicism, THANK YOU! You nailed it on the head. You weren't a complete jerk to the franchise, you weren't Egoraptor-ing, and you weren't just choosing games that people disliked because of ratings (*coughblackknightwhichwasactuallyverygoodcough*). But the best part is that you addressed the fact of the series never staying focused. Number 1 made that point so clear and I am so glad you got that right. So often when TH-camrs discuss the franchise, I just sigh going "Here we go again. Let's wrack on Sonic" but how you handled this was so respectable. I can't really say if I believe you understand the franchise or all the problems, but you've certainly hit the mark here and I am so glad your video turned out how it did.
Sonic was just picking itself up off the floor pre-Boom, and then SEGA came and punt kicked Sonic in the head while he was just about to get up and now, now he's got a fractured spine.

"Probably didn't need to finish this video. Recent examples have shown that you don't need to finish a project before you release it to the world." Ooooooooooh.
This was a vey fair and balanced opinion video, and thankfully wasn't racked with cynicism. You brought up some well reasoned ideas for why a titan could fall from glory and showed that until the most recent instalment, why people could still like this series. Well done
+Gauntlet Fire My problem with Ow the Edge, was that you had to play the game ten times, just to get the final ending. Also, some of the mission got REALLY annoying and tedious, making the game even worse. And the branching story doesn't matter, since there's the final ending. And finally, I would've appreciated if Shedew would've just cleaned that butter from his shoes, so that he wouldn't slip everywhere.
Top five moments in games that make you cry no matter how many times you see them ... Okay it doesn't really roll off the tongue but still. Great vid as usual!!!
The Sonic series is like a famous star, that became crippled by an alcohol addiction. They occasionally get close to their former glory, but you feel depressed from how horribly they mess up all the other times. You can tell they genuinely want to be cool and loved, but they can't stop alienating everyone who lived them....
+endborg90 I also had no problems with secret Rings controls...then again last time I played it I was like seven years old so probably rose tinted glasses.
+Absolute Absol Hear me out on this one. Secret Rings was absolutely painful at times especially with the Perfect Challenges but I had very little problems with the controls and I still play it. Sonic Boom on the hand is the absolute bottom. Sonic 06 is terrible but it's fun in a way, Secret Rings was annoying but playable, Sonic Boom was just dreadful at least Secret Rings did something right compared to that.
+CrusadingChristian If they're truly underrated and not "small sellers with a vocal fan base as loud as a fucking jet turbine/Mother, Shantae and whatever the fuck of a popular indie title we have currently" is, chances are he probably doesn't even know about their existence. In other words, to have truly fresh list of genuinely good game franchises that slip under people's radars is hard. Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure he can pull that through..or anybody to be honest
+Scissorman Star Ocean, Seriosuly doesn't get enough love for how amazing 1 and 2 are, sure 4 was...BLEH but that's only comparing to 1 or 2 (Namely 2) But 4 was rather interesting. Harvest Moon, A farming sim that is slowly gaining more love for what it is, a simple life sim. Rune Factory 4, This one falls under HM as well, but add some dungeon crawling and you have so much more. Armored core, This series needs more love as well, its a hard core Mech battles game made by the same people who do Dark Souls and it shows. Stronghold games, Sure they aren't prefect, and the VA is odd, but hot damn they are fun.
TheLastRaven6 And...we have a perfect example of problem number 2. The examples you listed all belong to a rather specific niche(not to mention Harvest Moon and not so Harvest Moon, I mean, Rune Factory, as far as I've seen have gotten quite a decent amount of coverage as of late) We can also talk about other niches with the same problem. Horror games? The likes of Corpse Party and Clock Tower are all good Runner ups. Other types of games? I certainly haven't heard half of the coverage the Trauma series deserves, neither do a lot of visual novels. Hell, as far as America and even part of Europe does, something that should have much more coverage as DRAGON FUCKING QUEST could count. Or other RPGs such as the Etrian Odyssey series can be listed too. It's a hard fight to win. A crapload of series could count by extremely different reasons, because many series that have something to offer are starving for love. It would be an interesting exchange but by God is it a toughie.
Call of duty: Okay, depending on views, some people may find this series overrated, but the hate it gets is so overwhelming, and people bring up the most trivial reasons for hating it.
Scissorman Rune factory 4 got a lot cus it was canned in eroupe psyhically and the voices for RF4 where LOUD AS FUCK, otherwise it would have been as under the radar as 1-3 or oceans and frontier.
I once saw a review on Sonic Boom, saying it was fantastic, and was similar to Ratchet and Clank. The amount of rage I had in that moment was monumental...
I've been playing SA2 and even though it's super flawed going for a ranks and trying to do a perfect run of a stage is more addicting than in any other sonic game it's really fun
+TheEvaGuy The worst part of a 100% run is the Chao Garden. It will eat up around half the total playtime and it's mostly waiting. Make sure to go for a neutral chao (the all S rank maxed out one) so you can do both the Hero and Dark cups with one Chao, rather than needing to raise 2 like I did.
+TheEvaGuy SA2 is fun and all, but the voice acting is probably the worst thing I've ever heard. Rumors say, that children who listened to the voice acting for too long, ended up killing themselves.
How do you make a game worse than fucking Sonic 2006?! It's amazing how bad Sonic Boom is. Although the cartoon is alright. Also I love how the music in between numbers gets more distorted.
Blahblahblah28504 Boom is technically a better game. Less glitches, a MUCH better (albeit stil bad) story, etc. Sonic 06 just fails on more levels than boom
#5- Never played this game, and honestly, I doubt I'd ever want to based on what I've heard about it. I like my Sonic running fast and platforming, thank you. :P #4- I have yet to get into this series, I stuck to the All-Stars Racing games instead. But holy hell, those controls would probably turn me off to the Riders games as a whole if I played it first with almost no context with the previous two games. #3- I'll just stick with my copy of Sonic Classic Collection on DS and the upcoming Sonic Mania and pray that SEGA starts releasing Sonic CD with classic ports more often. #2- I'd never want to play this game, but I'm morbidly curious to see how bad it really is despite the numerous playthroughs I've seen. #1- I played the demo for it a couple of months ago and I think that it summed up my thoughts pretty well. Boring as hell, monotonous, and I had no idea what the hell I was even doing most of the time. Deleted it right after the first use, never to be redownloaded. Thankfully its 3DS counterpart was a bit better to the point that it's getting a follow-up in the form of Fire and Ice, so let's hope that game still turns out well despite how most people will judge it solely for having the "Sonic Boom" brand name on it.
Try the first two Riders games. IMO they're great. Also, that Sonic CD port is also on PC, and it doesn't need a powerful PC to run AT ALL. And I know that back then the game hadn't released, but in my opinion, Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice is pretty good.
Great list. I went in, expecting to need to defend some of the lackluster games that are actually pretty good *except* Sega abandoned them instead of refining what worked and... that was the theme of your video! At the risk of sabotaging agreement, some Sonic games I enjoy that most don't are Sonic R and Sonic The Fighters. I'm *not* calling them "good games", but I managed to enjoy them (albeit via their Game Cube appearances as part of collected works). Both games just feel like missed opportunities. Not only did Sonic the Fighters come out while Fighting Games were still all the rage, but imagine if someone at Sega realized it was a way a good way to port over characters from other media (assuming Sega could snag the rights to them), test combat ideas *before* adding combat to later Sonic games, etc. An accurate take on Sonic *too fast*? Make him the boss instead of Eggman. ;) Sonic R especially feels like a waste. Sonic games have had a versus mode for racing before, this game just needed to take and expand upon that... except this was when everything had to be 3D, and the 3D versus modes didn't start showing up until Sonic Adventure (or was it Sonic Adventure 2?). *Anyway,* Sonic is usually depicted as the kind of guy who would love racing his friends, maybe even tolerate racing his enemies as hey, it beats Dr. Robotnik openly taking over and an area and enslaving folks. Sonic R's stages were actually pretty great, just suffering for being limited: 5 in all, but most were pretty open, with multiple viable paths to take and with conditions that changed according to the weather... oh, and *with* multiple possible forms of weather! Too bad someone didn't realize (or else, have time to implement) a control scheme that allowed high-speed runners to feel like high-speed runners, vehicles to feel like vehicles, and throw in those character-specific quirks to open up the experience even more, like Knuckles climbing and gliding, Tails' flight, etc. Those things are in there, but they aren't used very well. Limited cast as well. Love or hate Sonic Heroes, but imagine the cast of that game in a Sonic R sequel where not only was Sonic fast, Knuckles strong, Tails able to fly... but Espio could use his invisibility and shuriken to sneak through certain areas, and the finer differences between fliers, brutes, and speedsters mattered! ... Um... thanks to anyone who actually read my fanboy rant. XP
Honestly, I could overlook some of Sonic Boom's faults if it wasn't 1. Incredibly glitchy 2. Incredibly boring I still wouldn't want to play it, but I wouldn't hate it entirely. If there is one thing that video games need to be, it's fun, or at the very least, engaging. If a game is boring, whether it's in its concept or execution, it's committed one of the biggest crimes any game could commit.
This is the BEST piece of work you have EVER done because as a HARDCORE SONIC FAN, if I ever made this list, it would be the EXACT order as yours with the SAME opinions as you gave! (Especially with your final thoughts as to how Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric is making the Sonic franchise the WORST franchise of all TIME!) THERE WAS LITERALLY NOTHING I DID NOT AGREE WITH YOUR LIST!!!
That description of the video though. Simply brilliant xD I honestly think that Sonic Boom's secuel could be a decent game if they polish it. We'll have to wait and see...
Rabbid about what you said during the end slate I definitely want to see weekly top 5s continued in 2016. I always enjoy voting through Facebook and seeing all your potential ideas for topics.
Personally, I think that somebody at Sega has to, once every few years or so, appease an ancient and unknowable Eldritch god of failure by completely pulling the QA team from a high-profile project and producing a broken, barely complete title so that the fabric of the universe remains intact. I mean, how else could Sonic '06, Aliens: Colonial Marines, AND Sonic Boom all happen?
Jordy Johnathan I personally dont care for a majority of the games. Ive enjoyed the first 3, generations, and colors. In the case of Sa1 and 2 only sonics and shadows stages were alright but the rest of the game being a chore to get thru along with the werehog in unleashed. Overall a weak game franchise only kept alive due to nostalgia and diehard fans who would argue that sonic 06 is great im just playing it wrong.
+pipo berber Hotel Mario wasn't as devastating to Mario's reputation, though(they were still plenty good Mario games at the time to soften the blow that were likely to get more attention due being on the more mainstream console). Sonic Boom was the second time the series hit a low point of such abysmal quality, as the only game released at the time on the mainstream focus of the series at that point. It's like Banjo Nuts and Bolts, except actually shitty.
Rol wasnt made by team sonic, and i dont think anyone gave sega anytime to release a new real sonic game before saying that rol killed the franshise. I personally think that mess of a "game" wad worth it just for the tv show, but thats my opinion.
Awesome vid, congrats on having more originality to your list than watchmojo, and defiantly continue countdowns to the next year as i feel its what's going to make your channel stick out from the rest
my top 5 least favorite sonic game ( i don't hate these games i love them i just don't like them as much as others also these are ones i played) 5 sonic forces 4 sonic colors 3 sonic lost world 2 sonic rush 1 sonic mania
If you want to see Sonic Boom done right, or at least done in a way that's tolerable, check out the TV series. Yes, I'm forced to recommend a TV series over a game, but them's the brakes
+ShutUpAdachi A lot of people seem to think the TV series was the real thing they cared about and the video games were little more than advertisements. Kind of those cruddy video games that are based on movies.
actually, sega did really do that. they demanded that the game has to be a prequel to the show(and yeah, that didnt go so well since bigredbutton obviously could not have known what the show even was about before its release)
I've heard some people say that Black Knight was one of the best games in the series at embracing th best of Sonic's attitude. There's a video called "Sonic Boom in 4 minutes" that illustrates this.
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS?! I have been here since 20,000 and I can't believe you're only at 200,000! You should be at 500,000 AT LEAST! Your videos are awesome! A quick suggestion, I know you're not in it for the fame or anything but try collaborating with other youtubers on a let's play or something or on a top 10! Oh well just my thoughts. Looking forward to the next video man and keep up the good work!
Lucas Bell From the future. Mania is great. Forces looks like it's gonna be in the Colors/Generations mold, so aside from the OC stuff it looks like it might be good...
I don't know what hurts more: the fact that the Sonic 06 dev team rushed production on the game to release it in time for Sonic's 15th birthday, and came out really shitty, or that they didn't learn from that experience AND DID IT A SECOND GODDAMN TIME FOR SONIC BOOM.
Reaper Holland Yeah...but Nintendo allowed it to be published on their console (isn't there a seal of quality?) But no one will point that out, just what's trendy I guess. In that case, the NX is going to be bad (despite knowing nothing about it).
So, apparently, the Sonic Boom team learned that the game was to be a Wii U exclusive one month before release, and had been spending all their time developing on an engine that was incompatible with the Wii U.
Agreed. I absolutely adore Sonic Unleashed. Just the PS3 version, though, with the bustling hub worlds that you can actually explore. The PS2 and Wii versions are a lot less interesting because of all the required time challenges (that are optional hot dog stand missions in the PS3 version) and the fact that all the hub worlds are relegated to menus.
chainsawcyclone Sonic Unleashed as a Sonic game is a 6/10 in my opinion. It didn't exactly bring too much good stuff to an already chaotic table. But I'm not gonna judge your personal tastes.
chainsawcyclone Being "fast" is a quality every Sonic game should have, no matter how fast. Unless you're literally racing at the speed of LIGHT, there's nothing impressive about it unless you throw in some actual elements to make it more interesting and challenging (challenging in a fair way, not the broken, glitchy unfair way Sonic games tend to have nowadays).
For those who haven't seen it, and want to see how hilariously horrible that Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom are, watch the Game Grumps playthroughs and make sure you're ready to wet yourselves laughing XD
While I don't exactly agree with the overall order, I have to say, this video turned out MUCH better than I thought it would. You did a pretty good job, Rabbid.
I don't know if the Sonic Boom TV show came to mind before the game, or if the game came to mind first for the people behind them, but it's clear where all the focus went into. I'll give you a hint: it's not the game.
You should continue the Top 5's. Besides I got so many suggestions (and probably other people do to.) Top 5 Worst Protagonists in video games Top 5 Saddest character deaths in video games Top 5 best final levels Top 5 best first bosses
This video kind of feels like picking on the really slow child in the schoolyard. I enjoyed it, though. That either means you made a great video, or I'm a monster. YOU decide!
Seeing the Sonic fans produce some high quality stuff, makes me hope that similar fans of Megaman or RE and etc, will do something similar. Be it fan hacks of the games, or maybe just get them into indie development and bring the world some truly great stuff.
I have heard one of the biggest problem's Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis on the GBA was that Sega lazily used the same engine that Sonic Advance used, instead of making another seperate engine for the port.
I must say that out of all of the worst Sonic game videos I've seen yours is the most respectable and reasonable to the games. I have the highest respect for you, my good sir :)
Two things, One: thanks for not putting Shadow's game on this list, since for some weird reason I love that game. Two: You now need to do the top 5 worst Mario Games
You show Sonic Unleashed in the intro when talking about shaky Sonic titles. I can't remember if you've said it before, but I'm curious: What is your opinion on Sonic Unleashed?
I'm glad you included Sonic the Hedgehog advance here. I borrowed that game from my boyfriend, had heard before that it was a bad game, but didn't think it would be THAT bad! Horrible framerates, crappy collision detection, both of these factors made it such a difficult game, (I'm still surprised I was able to beat Act 1 of Green Hill zone in 23 seconds) and they even managed to fuck up the remixes! I am disappointed that you didn't include Secret Rings, however. The game controlled horribly, I've always liked the Wii's controls but that game is just horrible and awkward to play, made worse for me because my copy didn't come with a manual so I spent TWO HOURS trying to figure out why I was fucking up so brilliantly. Plus, that game actually started off the downfall of '06, because the teams were split up, to make both games. That game started it all off, and if we didn't have Secret Rings, we would probably have a GOOD '06 on our hands, or at least one that wasn't so bad (although we wouldn't have Black Knight, which is one of my more favourite Sonic games with much improved gameplay from Secret Rings).
Please tell me i wasnt the only person here that loved sonic free riders because i had enough space to play it and it was actully very fun to play and kindof hard to beat but still I loved the challenge,as for controls, everything was pretty responsive for me except for pulling off jumps sometimes
The thing that I hate the most about Sonic Boom is that essentially cuts Sonic into two: platforming and speed. By separating those 2 things, accompanied with the boredom, you turn Sonic into the very thing he mocked since his inception in 1991: a run of the mill platformer.
Am I the only one who feels like Eggman's plan to swap Sonic's shoes with rigged ones that make him run really slow was probably the smartest idea Eggman had ever came up with? Not a good idea for a game, better off as an idea for some Sonic Boom episode but really tho.
the "sole power" episode was pretty close.
+SexualBread Ninja he could of just pulled out a gun and finished Sonic, IQ of 300 my ass.
+SexualBread Ninja If you can get close enough to his shoes to replace them with "slow shoes" then why don't you just put a couple of explosives in them instead. It would definitely get the job done a bit quicker.
You described Sonic Boom perfectly. Yeah, sure, Sonic '06 is more technically flawed, but boredom is the worst of all gaming sins.
+ThePrinceOfSaiyajins 'Sonic '06 is more technically flawed'
Is it?
Is it really?
+endlessmisery15 Yes. Yes it is. Sonic 06 has like a gazillion bugs per level.
englishhedgehog7
I'd say Boom had just as many bugs.
At least Sonic '06 had a good soundtrack.
+endlessmisery15 not really, no.
You definitely should keep going with the voted Top 5s in 2016. It's been a pretty great system, if you ask me.
Hey it's Zero! Man I love your vids!
+MaverickHunterZero75 What he said.
+MaverickHunterZero75 The more the merrier. :D
yeah, it works
+MaverickHunterZero75 I agree.

thank you for not having sonic unleashed on this list
I know how you feel
The 360 and PS3 version was good but the Wii and PS2 version was absolute shit.
Yeah the only reason people seem to hate that game is because of the werehog.
+Nobody I agree 100%
+BlackPikmin1998
the Wii and PS2 version had way better level design...
Sonic was just picking itself up off the floor pre-Boom, and then SEGA came and punt kicked Sonic in the head while he was just about to get up and now, now he's got a fractured spine.
SEGA had nothing to do with the development of Boom. Thank god..

Rise of Lyric: ...?
I know it wasn't developed by Sega, but even the people that worked on it are still good developers.
+HyperHydreigon Well Sega rushed the game and they had to develop it in like 10 months. Not BRB's fault.
+Radshyguy It shows that sega doesnt give two shits about sonic these days.... Fucking pawning them off to some no name developer.
ManiacX1999 Easy, the devs behind Lost World gave more than 2 shits about Sonic and the fans, the ones behind Boom just wanted a cash in.
"To play a hot stove like a pair of bongo drums... THAT is Sega."
Without a doubt the best description of Sega I have ever heard.

Sonic Unleashed for me, but only because it took me 2 years to beat.
+Joseph Cross believe me, Undertale will be number 1

I just love how the transition music gradually get slower each time.
*Is secretly glad that shadow the hedgehog wasn't on this list*
Thank you honestly I saw Shadow the Hedgehog as an ok game
***** I agree. It had issues, but it was thoroughly enjoyable

please carry on the top 5 videos i enjoy them so much, i love your channel, you've always got a video at least everyday :)

Love the surplus of videos this year, keeps my tears in from thr lack of fawfuls minion xD you two are on even footing now as far as I'm concerned
For the record, if we include spinoffs, Mario has also had his share of many shit games.
+redstonenexus Same with Sonic Boom, and is universaly hated.
+englishhedgehog7 Most of the Mario spinoffs were amazing tbh
***** Mario teaches typing, Hotel Mario, Mario's preschool adventures and Mario is missing to name a few.
+stephenEbuchenberger Mario Teaches Typing, Hotel Mario (although mainly discounted because CD-i).
A lot of the Mario spinoffs starting with the N64 era were actually very good. The NES and SNES
early PC and... Dear god the CDi era was shit though.

I still think that Sonic and the Secret Rings is worse than Sonic 06. At least 06 has some variety and can actually be controlled.
+Absolute Absol Thank You, 06 had some redeeming qualities, everything about Secret Rings is bad.
Yeah. Secret Rings just felt like watching a movie where you just steer where the character runs.
Am I the only one who had 0 problems with secret rings control. I could play it again right now and still beat it in about 3 days.
Sonic R is a guilty pleasure of mine mostly for the soundtrack..... in Instrumental mode
Top 5 Underrated Video Game *FRANCHISES*
The examples you listed all belong to a rather specific niche(not to mention Harvest Moon and not so Harvest Moon, I mean, Rune Factory, as far as I've seen have gotten quite a decent amount of coverage as of late)
We can also talk about other niches with the same problem.
+Can'tThinkofBetterName thanks for the advice
+TheEvaGuy SA2 is fun and all, but the voice acting is probably the worst thing I've ever heard.
Rumors say, that children who listened to the voice acting for too long, ended up killing themselves.
Milotics on a plane Starring sam jackson True, but it could have been way worse.
+Milotics on a plane Starring sam jackson Play with Japanese voices, problem solved.
Keep going with top fives Rabbit always love to see what topics you cover.
How do you make a game worse than fucking Sonic 2006?! It's amazing how bad Sonic Boom is. Although the cartoon is alright. Also I love how the music in between numbers gets more distorted.
06 is worse than boom IMO
+Eldritch Pikmin At least 06 could bring you some joy from the absurd quantity of glitches. Boom, on the other hand, has none of that.
+Eldritch Pikmin Now I'm curious. Why do you think 06 is worse than Boom?
Blahblahblah28504 Boom is technically a better game. Less glitches, a MUCH better (albeit stil bad) story, etc. Sonic 06 just fails on more levels than boom
At least 06 has an awesome story and soundtrack. i wish i could say the same about Sonic Boom...
I love how you used GameGrumps footage for Sonic Boom. made me smile
#5- Never played this game, and honestly, I doubt I'd ever want to based on what I've heard about it. I like my Sonic running fast and platforming, thank you. :P
#4- I have yet to get into this series, I stuck to the All-Stars Racing games instead.
Thankfully its 3DS counterpart was a bit better to the point that it's getting a follow-up in the form of Fire and Ice, so let's hope that game still turns out well despite how most people will judge it solely for having the "Sonic Boom" brand name on it.
here is a sonic CD port in Android/IOS BTW
Gaming and Stuff I don't really play games on my phone honestly, because I usually forget them. And I'm not big on paying for apps.
Try the first two Riders games. IMO they're great. Also, that Sonic CD port is also on PC, and it doesn't need a powerful PC to run AT ALL. And I know that back then the game hadn't released, but in my opinion, Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice is pretty good.
AGM Official I'll try to someday, but I have no idea when.
"A delayed game will be great eventually, but a rushed game will be bad forever." Shigeru Miyamoto
Make him the boss instead of Eggman. ;)
Sonic R especially feels like a waste.
XP
Honestly, I could overlook some of Sonic Boom's faults if it wasn't
1. Incredibly glitchy
2. Incredibly boring
I still wouldn't want to play it, but I wouldn't hate it entirely.
Simply brilliant xD
I honestly think that Sonic Boom's secuel could be a decent game if they polish it. We'll have to wait and see...
can you feel the sunshine?
it gets brighter every day.
STAPH
+Alex Valiente b- but why though?
+Alex Valiente before we stop ask yourself this
can you feel the sunshine?
DONT YOU FEEL THAT SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED TO RUN AWAY
Can i just say that you have the most satirical, relevant, and witty descriptions like ever? Always a pleasure to read them while an ad while play.
I enjoy the top 5's. They allow for a steady stream of content over a period of time. Plus, it's not like the top 10's are completely gone.
Rabbid about what you said during the end slate I definitely want to see weekly top 5s continued in 2016. I always enjoy voting through Facebook and seeing all your potential ideas for topics.
Well you know what they say: The faster they go, the harder they crash.
or do only I say that?
+Geno The Creeper Something like that.
+Geno The Creeper Nope. "One thing for sure, the faster they go, the harder they crash." -Eric Bogosian, 2012.
It's true in reality anyway.
You should've made this a top 10
He could do a top 20
+Jesus Javier Amavisca Valenzuela Did you two miss the part about beating a dead horse?
Could have made a top x worst sonic games.
x equals how ever many games there are minus the 10 good to decent ones.
Jordy Johnathan Man, I just really like Sonic. Personally though, I prefer the 3D entries. The 2D ones are very fun though.
Fun fact: Stealth the guy who made the competent gba sonic game went on to be a leading role in sonic mania.
sonic boom rol is the hôtel Mario of the franshise, exept nobody said 'mario is dead' after hôtel mario.
It's because people are biased against Sonic. :-)
+SolidSanics Yep
+pipo berber Hotel Mario wasn't as devastating to Mario's reputation, though(they were still plenty good Mario games at the time to soften the blow that were likely to get more attention due being on the more mainstream console).
Sonic Boom was the second time the series hit a low point of such abysmal quality, as the only game released at the time on the mainstream focus of the series at that point.
It's like Banjo Nuts and Bolts, except actually shitty.
Because, Hotel mario wasn't created by nintendo, and they quickly brought themselves back on the top.
Glad the storybook games aren't on this list.
I like them.
Really? I personally hated them. To each their own I suppose.
Same storybook games are some of my favorite
Black Knight was...pretty okay, actually.
I quite liked them both
+Djoing I liked Black knight but HATED secret rings
I am so glad you didn't bash any good Sonic games amd actually comprised the best list for bad Sonic games ever
Top Five Good games where the story was awful
"leaving behind something that works" while playing unleashed footage, couldn't agree more
Free riders is the worst game I ever played. Even when I was 8 playing it a the time I knew it sucked
Sorry for the mispellings
+Demon Doggo It's 'kay. 😃
+Cody Hines Alright then. I'm 13 so I make mistakes
+Demon Doggo you were just missing a t and a comma anyway. No big deal.
+Cody Hines k then
my top 5 least favorite sonic game
( i don't hate these games i love them i just don't like them as much as others also these are ones i played)
5 sonic forces
4 sonic colors
3 sonic lost world
2 sonic rush
1 sonic mania
I'm just gonna say it, I loved Sonic 06. Why? because if you take it for what it is then it's super enjoyable.
+RubberDucky It's fun and unpredictable, but you can't deny it's a shitty game.
TheGreenShyGuy However I can deny that I didn't run into a single glitch during my playthrough.
Sonic 2006 is a masterpiece. Of failure in pretty much every way, but still.
Also, Shadow kicking Silver in the back of the head was undeniably funny.
+ShutUpAdachi Which funny enough is similar to the Donkey Kong show in some ways.
actually, sega did really do that. they demanded that the game has to be a prequel to the show(and yeah, that didnt go so well since bigredbutton obviously could not have known what the show even was about before its release)
Your number 1 is so accurate to the point where I forgot it existed and had absolutely no idea what number one would be after seeing number 2.
Am I the only one who liked Black Knight and Unleashed?
No I liked those and secret rings
I liked the PS3 version of Unleashed but I hated Black Knight with a firey passion
I've heard some people say that Black Knight was one of the best games in the series at embracing th best of Sonic's attitude. There's a video called "Sonic Boom in 4 minutes" that illustrates this.
I liked both of those.
I liked Black Knight and LOVED Unleash, though Eggman Land did make me rage quit.
SEGA, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT F*** UP MANIA AND SONIC PROJECT 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ZMR33 It's SEGA, dude. They always find a way.
Lucas Bell From the future. Mania is great. Forces looks like it's gonna be in the Colors/Generations mold, so aside from the OC stuff it looks like it might be good...
That transition of the happy music and shadow shooting sonic describes most prank channels.
better than screwattack's
I don't know what hurts more: the fact that the Sonic 06 dev team rushed production on the game to release it in time for Sonic's 15th birthday, and came out really shitty, or that they didn't learn from that experience AND DID IT A SECOND GODDAMN TIME FOR SONIC BOOM.
JokerPixel the main development team had nothing to do with Boom.
GOTTA GO MODERATELY AVERAGE
Love that little detail on the final title card where you put the SEGA Logo on Shadow's face!
Well in all honesty, Boom wasn't made by Sonic Team.
So maybe it didn't fuck everything up, maybe the one by Sonic Team will be good.
Yeah... but Sega allowed it to be released.
Reaper Holland Yeah...but Nintendo allowed it to be published on their console (isn't there a seal of quality?)
But no one will point that out, just what's trendy I guess.
In that case, the NX is going to be bad (despite knowing nothing about it).
So, apparently, the Sonic Boom team learned that the game was to be a Wii U exclusive one month before release, and had been spending all their time developing on an engine that was incompatible with the Wii U.
sonic unleashed is amazing (posted at the beginning of the video) I hope it's not on here.
THANK GOODNESS! SONIC UNLEASHED IS MY FAVORITE SONIC GAME!
Lucas Bell look at how fast it is though
chainsawcyclone Being "fast" is a quality every Sonic game should have, no matter how fast. Unless you're literally racing at the speed of LIGHT, there's nothing impressive about it unless you throw in some actual elements to make it more interesting and challenging (challenging in a fair way, not the broken, glitchy unfair way Sonic games tend to have nowadays).
I'm really glad that Sonic Boom isn't considered an actual Sonic 3D game, but a spin-off to Sonic.
For those who haven't seen it, and want to see how hilariously horrible that Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom are, watch the Game Grumps playthroughs and make sure you're ready to wet yourselves laughing XD
+Minarus Infernus Both games are so bad and buggy that they're hilarious.
While I don't exactly agree with the overall order, I have to say, this video turned out MUCH better than I thought it would. You did a pretty good job, Rabbid.
OH MY GOD !!!! WILL YOU PEOPLE STOP BASHING SONIC BOOM ????!!!!!!
+Jack Hamilton But it's so relevant. And easy.
+Jack Hamilton I personally don't see how it's defendable
No.
It's so weird when people defend it.
+nightmarezako I agree.
I don't know if the Sonic Boom TV show came to mind before the game, or if the game came to mind first for the people behind them, but it's clear where all the focus went into.
I'll give you a hint: it's not the game.
You should continue the Top 5's. Besides I got so many suggestions (and probably other people do to.)
Top 5 Worst Protagonists in video games
Top 5 Saddest character deaths in video games
Top 5 best final levels
Top 5 best first bosses
This video kind of feels like picking on the really slow child in the schoolyard. I enjoyed it, though. That either means you made a great video, or I'm a monster. YOU decide!
The Silver boss fight taught me that it's no use.
how long have i been sebscribed? feels like years: i think it was the ssbb video.. gz on 200k man!
I want SEGA to remake Sonic 06 but make it polished and how it intended to be
awesome and well constructed list. Can you please tell me what song was used in the number transitions?
+Mangekyo0011 Instrumental version of "Can You Feel the Sunshine" from Sonic R
+rabbidluigi thanks
+rabbidluigi I feel like having the lyrics would've been more interesting. As interesting as blasting "CAN YOU FEEL THE SUNSHINE" can be, anyway.
10:25 is that from Metroid Prime Forderation Force? i ask because it looks familiar.
Rabbidluigi: when a fan can do a better job than sonic team
Me: oh how true this is now mania released
"Slapping strangers with a loaf a bread."
Will, what life do you live recklessly?
Hey rabbid could you tell me what your intro music is
Oh and your voids are awesome thanks for reading this and replying if you do
You know you've done something seriously wrong when even the fun is taken out of watching a game fail.
Seeing the Sonic fans produce some high quality stuff, makes me hope that similar fans of Megaman or RE and etc, will do something similar.
Be it fan hacks of the games, or maybe just get them into indie development and bring the world some truly great stuff.
Me too. I haven't cared for Mega Man in a long while, but I actually got a few ideas for a fan game. Should I attempt to make it?
Up to you man, no ones forcing you to do it but you .3.
In the words of a somewhat wise man: "Dont let your dreams be dream! Just do it!"
***** Thanks!
Sonic Labyrinth would be a good Bomberman game.
"The melodious sound of the four main characters not shutting the fuck up" lol i doed laughing
I was honestly suprised that 3D Blast didn't make it on the list. That game was a travesty.
What is the music on the transition cards. I can tell that they slow down but can someone please send a link?
What's the music that plays in the 'Number #' sections?
I have heard one of the biggest problem's Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis on the GBA was that Sega lazily used the same engine that Sonic Advance used, instead of making another seperate engine for the port.
I must say that out of all of the worst Sonic game videos I've seen yours is the most respectable and reasonable to the games. I have the highest respect for you, my good sir :)
THIS IS MY FETISH
Also, it's a nice touch to add the music in the transitions get slightly slower each number.
"To play a hot stove like a pair of bongo drums; THAT'S SEGA"
HELP IM DEAD XD
9:24 Two Sonics? What video was that from?
Please tell me i wasnt the only person here that loved sonic free riders because i had enough space to play it and it was actully very fun to play and kindof hard to beat but still I loved the challenge,as for controls, everything was pretty responsive for me except for pulling off jumps sometimes
The thing that I hate the most about Sonic Boom is that essentially cuts Sonic into two: platforming and speed. By separating those 2 things, accompanied with the boredom, you turn Sonic into the very thing he mocked since his inception in 1991: a run of the mill platformer.
what's the music right at the end of the video?
