Tears immediately fell as soon as I heard sungjae say, “Then why didn’t you play with me before?” It’s like the only thing he wants is to play with his appa all this time :( such a nice kid
Jiyong is such a good dad. He knows he loves his son but lacks the skills to express his affection. To accept and acknowledge that on television is really a big step. So proud of you jiyong!
As a preschool teacher, I noticed several things Son Hoyoung did: 1.) He spent time on the floor/ side by side with Seungjae (this allows for more personal eye-to-eye communication) 2.) He let the child take the lead in playtime 3.) He allowed the child to speak, engaging him with questions (didn't use a lot of W-H questions, but the child made up for it by speaking his mind, which Son Hoyoung allowed and encouraged) 4.) He physically caressed the child lovingly, reminding Seungjae that he is safe and cared for 5.) He spoke gently and calmly, even when the child spilled his ice cream 6.) He was patient with Seungjae 7.) He enriched the learning environment by adding variety to their play (dog, toys, making sandwiches) 8.) He praises and encourages Seungjae 9.) He let the child choose his own preferences when making sandwiches Just a few things I saw that made me really happy. I noticed that Seungjae's father also has a gentle approach to raising children, which goes along with his personality. This child might get really confused when he grows older and realizes he's been hoodwinked and gaslighted by his own parents, but there is real meaning behind what his parents do, and I hope he appreciates this one day!
@Omega Man certifying in early childcare education(ECE) is a legitimate and honorable job profession. Just because you don't know, it does not entitle you to disrespect others. Don't ever underestimate an ECE teacher. They are more than just a babysitter. ECE teachers help scaffold the foundational skills of life. No one worth respecting ever discredits primary or higher level teachers because they know how priceless and powerful the knowledge taught to the students is. So why should foundational skills like washing hands or becoming independent learners be any different? These skills are equally priceless and powerful. Teaching this is not easy. Please have some reconsider your words next time. In addition, I do not intend to insult with my response. Thank you for taking the time to read this novel of a comment.
I hope Jiyong learns some things with this experience, although I know it was a bit hurtful for him. Kids don't really need excessive discipline. What they need the most is your love and attention.
You can see that this program created a stronger bond between Seungjae and Jiyong. They spent so much time together that now Seungjae miss his dad more. Without this show, I think Seungjae would be used to his dad not being at home and not even noticed that he’s late. They have a special relationship that Seungjae need those moments with his dad. ❤️ They came a long way, from “I don’t like you”, “I only need mom” to “I love you” & “I was upset when you come home late”
I can see how hard Jiyong is trying. And it's completely different dealing with a child who isn't yours for only a short period of time. Of course you won't get upset or angry when they spill something or don't listen. But when you put up with that all the time it's understandable that it'll eventually get frustrating. It's okay for Jiyong to be stern with him. Doesn't make him a bad father at all. I just think he needs a balance of play and discipline.
True. It's easy because when you get tired you can return the kid to their parents and return to your life, not mention you'll probabaly not experience a tantrum while looking after them for a short time, but being a parent is a lifetime commitment. Imagine handling teenagers! Omaygawd.
Okayyy Chweee Well, my mom barely gets mad at me when I spill stuff. It’s a mistake, she teaches me thing and if I mess up then she will teach me rather than yelling.
It does get frustrating specially when you're tired from work so it's understandable to snap from time to time but I think he has a short fuse for Seungjae. Like he didn't take the time to take it into perspective. Eg. Is it truly the child's fault that his fine motor skills are still developing? And Seungjae is such a smart kid so he wouldn't do it on purpose. Yet Jiyong looked ready to throw hands for the tiniest spills every single time. Why have kids expecting them to never make a mess? He didn't develop his patience for him because he was never around. Seungjae is so smart, it's going to be easy to teach him to clean up after himself for tiny spills so it's not really a problem but instead he loses his temper. You see Daebak's dad barely flinching when his kids mess up the whole house (he still tells them off of course), but you see Jiyong acting like Seungjae just spat at his grandmother's grave. It's ok to discipline if they don't listen but an accident? Come on. Really? But I agree that Jiyong is trying hard because he's trying to fix their relationship which is great.
@Jelly Squish FR, Seungjae's smarts go beyond calling out the ruses in the show. He knows how to play along and use it to his advantage. This time, he told "new dad" what he wanted from his real dad, knowing real dad would hear about it. Kid is a genius.
I'm not a parent yet but this episode really made me cry. I lost it when Seungjae said, "Dad, i made a mess. Why aren't you angry? " But I really think Jiyoung is doing his best. Taking care of a child for a short time is really different from being a parent. Being a parent is much harder I guess.🙂
I felt bad for jiyoung. He’s a good dad who has been working so hard. But I had this feeling that seungjae knows that his dad is somewhere listening that’s why he’s saying things like that so his dad would understand how he feels. 💕😔😔
y'all... seungjae is smart for his age but he's still only a 4 year old child with a big imagination.. I really don't think he would think that far ahead😅
He really knows that his dad is a prankster. Let’s say he believed it 30% but 70% he has doubts. Just let it be 💕 what’s important is at the end of the video he loves his dad💕
honestly i'd prefer jiyong, if i was raised to have that really kind caring lovely dad i would be a spoiled brat. i see jiyong as a perfect dad tbh he just lacks of affection but other than that he's really good raising seungjae... jiyong's friend is a perfect "uncle" role, and i'm sure he didn't raised his childs like that everyday
I definitely feel like Seungjae knew his dad "changed", but played along anyway. The fact that he wasn't too surprised when he changed back to "normal" dad gave off the feeling that he's just a smart young boy who adapts quickly. What a beautiful and talented family.
Yeah he seems to know since he started pointing out things like that's my cup, I have a gun in my room and asking things like "why didn't you okay with me before?" He seems to know that Jiyong might be watching them but he probably thought "eh, what could go wrong if I ended up pranking them pranking me"
@@katelyna237 Fowl? What's that? Do you mean "foul"? I'm not being foul, I'm being honest. The type of father that your children has does depend on who you open your legs to. Also, if you decide to use a condom. His personality should matter too and the way you treat him. The person is saying that the father of her children "should" have a father like that but it all depends on what happens before you even have the children. You just got really angry for no reason.
honestly props to jiyong to admitting that he basically isnt the best dad out there but hes genuinely trying his best and i think thats why seungjae loves him so much, its because he sees that jiyong is doing his best😭😭
I think Seungjae knew hes not his dad, otherwise why would he said "theres many interesting thing in my room" to him like that saying supposedly said to someone who come for a first visit
"I was upset when dad returned late from work" Pain was all written in Jiyong's face after hearing Sungjae said it and it honestly broke my heart, Im literally crying right now.
I think jiyong's teachjng style is something that helped seungjae become really intelligent . He treats seungjae kind of like an adult. I feel like if jiyong treated seungjae too lovingly, seungjae wouldn’t have learned how to think and talk intelligently. Of course, there is always room for improvement and I liked how jiyong tried to learn how to be more affectionate with seungjae
yea you grow up faster when you have too. my family and I aren't the lovey dovey type, so only my mom and i are affectionate but maybe 3 days in a week. i was raised as if i was an employee by my dad for 3/4 my childhood. heck im a teen now
Jiyong is actually really affectionate as a dad (i mean, he is in front of the cameras but you can't fake laughing in a sweet way at your child while he pours water over your face while you're hangover)
Yeah, seeing your son enjoying himself with a dad that isn't you must be sad for him. But he still said he'd try to change himself. He's really a great father
yeah, i really cried when he said he always play with dinosaurs alone, and went on asking "Is it fun to play with me, Dad?" even tho i repeated that so many times now, I still teared up
@@eldagreat "Is it fun to play with me, Dad?"- a subtle hint that Dad should play with him more. Notice how he did not say " It's fun to play with you ,dad" ! Smart kid
Being a parent for one day and being a parent everyday is very different. I think Seungjae dad and mom doing amazing. Look how great Seungjae turned out he is so sweet, smart, feels others emotions, and respects everyone.
I miss watching seungjae's clips.. he's still adorable and I like that he can show his inner thoughts tho it's kind of sad that he's experiencing those but the fact that his dad is reflecting and is trying hard to be better is really sweet
As a working woman, i understand why jiyong is too busy lately, it's year end, it means reports, inventories, closing etc. And he's the CEO. I know in Jiyong's heart that he badly wants to be with his son all the time, but we couldn't remove the fact that he is also needed in his company, he also has employees that depend on him. And those employees have family who depends on them. Jiyong is full of responsibilities. I feel bad for seungjae but my heart hurts more for his father. I know seungjae understands his dad and his work, I remember seungjae telling his dad that he wants to be a CEO like him because it looks cool. Seungjae has to much respect for his dad's profession
Christine Estapia I’m new to this show but I already love it . I didn’t know his dad was a CEO . Like wow his gonna grow up to be an amazing person really smart too with a dad like him and his mom too she’s an amazing mom
Angelica Gurrola yes. Ko Ji yong owns his own company. Because of his business, he wasn't able to promote with his group Sechskies when they made a comeback in 2016 after years of disbandment. He left Korean entertainment for good but only doing this show for Seungjae's sake.
Waaahh this kid is so smart. He probably had a feeling the other guy wasn't his real dad but ge played along coz he liked the guy. He didn't seem surprised at all when Jiyong came back.
Jiyoung always tries his best to be the best dad to Sungjae. He can just quit the TROS due to his work. He’s a business man after all. But TROS is his chance to spend more time with his son.
This episode made me cry. I feel so sad for both of them. I'm not yet a parent but I have this feeling that parenting is so much harder than I could imagine. And I dont think there's a perfect parent, everyone has a flaw. What is more important I think is the desire to be better at parenting everyday. Kudos to Jiyong. ❤
You will cry. You will laugh. You will feel every emotion under the sun. Your love for your child is strong, you will be amazed how strong. You thought you loved before? Not until you had your baby. They will also frustraight you to no end. There have been times I locked myself away and my husband had to take over because the tears. Takes a lot of patience. Anyone can babysit. Spend 24 hours everyday putting them to bed punishing loving playing everything. You have no time to yourself any notion of personal self is gone. Your life, is theirs. It's all them anything you desire takes back shelf. But it's also the most fulfilling at times.
My heart broke in the parts where they showed how is dad reacted to spilling food. Sometimes as a parent it's hard to know when to discipline and when to brush it off. Nobody is born with the knowledge of how to be a great parent all you can do is try your best and grow.
The way Seungjae's mother flustered when Hoyoung called her "Yangim-ah" when they both never meet before although she already knows about the whole plan 🤣🤣
Jiyong is real example of how hard it is to be the perfect parent to his child. He tries so hard to improve himself for Seungjae, yet everyone keeps pointing out his mistakes that he probably knows about! GIVE HIM A BREAK
This reminds me of me and my dad. He worked a lot at a very stressful job. As I little kid I didn't understand that he was tired and even though he didn't play with me a lot he considered being in the same room quality time. My dad is brusque too, but now as a adult I see how he talks to me way sweeter than anyone else. My mom would always say "your dad loves you sooo much", and I got that but now I really get it. Hopefully Seungjae and any other kids with dad's like ours will grow up and be able to see it too.
My dad is like this, my mom said out of all my siblings, he always give wht i want but in expressionless way. Its hard for him to show i guess. But there are many fathers like this, they are actually love us more than themselves. 💛
Same, my dad would work really long hours and didn't always have the time to play with me or talk with me. When my mom would tell me about his reaction to me being their first daughter, I didn't believe it since it didn't sound like the dad I knew. Although now I see how he cares for me, like him worrying about me missing school.
Im single working mother when my kids still young they always say i dont love them, they didn't know i cry everytime i leave at home .but know they are young adult, i think they realize that's everything i do is for them, And im happy to say nowadays my children is my bestfriend and they always told me Mothers thanks for everything and we love you😍😍😍
"When Seungjae woke up briefly in the middle of the night, we're going to convenient store to buy him some candy." Honestly, it's really heartwarming that Jiyong is doing his best to be a better Dad to Seungjae. Although Seungjae is smart, he's still a kid. He still needs the love and affection from his Dad. Seungjae is really a smart, sweet and caring son. 💕
Seung Jae is such a sweet, caring boy... his dad is doing his best... being a parent is not the easiest thing on earth... you can do it Seung Jae appa...
I just realized this after watching this for so many times, seungjae is adding the -yo (formal way of speaking) when talking to hoyoung which he does not do towards his dad so I guess he really just played along hahahaha
Awwwww this episode is too good as jiyong was able to know what seungjae wants from him. Seungjae's questions "I made a mess ,why aren't you angry?" and "why do you keep smiling today?" made me cry because he wants his dad to be like that and finds it weird to see that his dad is behaving in the the way seungjae wants. He has deep feelings for his dad. I love you seungjae ❤️🤗
I think Seungjae believe because his mom said so. He believe because his mom. That's so sweet~ I learned more about how to deal with children, thanks to this program. Keep up the good work! 😁
lets we all take a moment to thank TROS because this show really does progress for their relationship. On their first episode it was very obvious that their father-son relationship was not that strong and now we can see that they are much closer even tho they don't show much affections to each other, but it's okay tho because everyone shows their affection differently. they both know they love each other. Jiyong and his wife must be good parents since they raised a good kid like Seungjae, he is both smart and nice to people which means his parents succeed in raising him. Anyway why didnt TROS do an interview with Seungjae to find out whether he really believed the prank or not? Just like how they did with William when Sam beat a crocodile 😂
Hoyoung is sooooooooooooo sweet! He'd be a great father, and his kids are gonna have the best personality! His future wife will be so lucky to have a husband that is so sweet and caring. I hope Hoyoung comes on this show when he has kids!
When I watched this I felt really sad since I heard that he had a really tragic story with a girlfriend in the past. He could've also had a child Seungjae's age by now.
@@anthyavila9726 Wait what?! I had no idea! That's so sad..... I hope that he and his current girlfriend have a great future together and hopefully have a child. I feel so sad about what happened to him 😭
@@ny250 it's just a lame joke, cos Seungjae said that he doesn't like it when Jiyong called his name Ko Seungjae harshly, but Jiyong, probably embarrassed tried to deflect from the situation by saying if he can't call him Ko Seungjae, he's not gonna call him Kim Seungjae instead lol
It's hard to be a father and a CEO at the same time. Whoever judges Jiyong as a father, definitely, is someone who doesn't have a family yet. Let's all talk again when you become one. I relate to Seungjae. My father was a Seaman. He only had three months vacation in one year. Sometimes, his contract extends up to 2 years. He was strict and doesn't let his feelings show. He showered us with material things, instead. I used to loath it. I wanted him more than the material things. When I matured, I understood. We became close 2 years before his death. It was a short time. Sometimes, I wish that we had more time. Still, I am thankful.
No one will blame Jiyong. We all understand how difficult it is to work and raise a child at the same time. But I hope what people take from this is that while there is still time left on this earth, you must show your child how much you love them. The kid said he just wants to play with his dad. He didn't want new toys, or gadgets. Material things will never replace the love and attention that your child needs, and deserves. It's a lesson for all of us. I learned a lot watching this.
this kid is so smart. he knew that hoyoung wasn't his dad at all. from the way he pointed out which cup was his and how he said that his sandwich was better than his mom's {although jiyong doesnt cook as well as his wife). he seemed so guarded until he assessed there was no danger at all
I can see this trick being played with our smart seungjae only. Because he’s so smart, he is able to imagine the unimaginable and adapt. Any other child would probably start crying until their parents showed up.
It's better to cry lol. What if the guy was an intruder with an elaborate plan to make Seungjae trust him. He's better off crying (The kidnapper may panic or get tired of it) and waiting for his dad. I don't think the use of an elaborate imagination is the smartest in this particular situation lol🤣🤣🤣
@@jiminplsletmehit7620 Well, Seungjae was wary until his mum confirmed. Since parents are the most trustworthy to kids at that age, he believed it immediately when mum said. Because they believe older people know more, and the world gets crazier as you grow. So yeah, his imagination did play a huge part. Other kids would only believe until things like a man dressed as a tiger is a real tiger.
I think sung jae knows that he was not his dad.. Because he showed the guy where he placed his cup and said sungjae had alot of toys in his room loollll. But he just believe that it is possible for his dad to change his appearance once per year eventhough deep inside he knew my dad is not like this. He is still genius in my opinion n sooo loving awww!!!!
Nah you can really tell the love he has towards kids, even if that is his kid he still treats him like one, every one has different ways expressing their love he's a very affectionate person.
seungjae might've realized that his dad is listening somewhere that's why he is saying all those things about what he really is feeling towards his dad, i wish i can be straightforward lilke him
He talks about his feelings straightforwardly anyway. But this time it felt different because he knows (he's at least 30-40% sure) it's not his real dad. He just played along.
@@nusratfariha3282 Just FYI, but fake dad (Son Ho Young) and real dad (Ko Ji Young) are about the same age, lol. Maybe only 1-2 years apart?? They're both 1st generation idols.
It’s nice to see how close seungjae is to his dad, he knows his dads entire personality, asking him why is he not mad and stuff like that. My dad is too busy and I haven’t spent a full day with him alone since I could walk.
I don't know why, but watching this clip, I felt this little sadness for Sungjae. I hope they spend more time together, bonding and having more father-son moments not just in front of the cam. Your a smart boy Sungjae! ❤
thid is the reason why jiyoung appa joined tros to atleast have a quality time together bcoz he is always busy. it is not only for the cam. he really tries his best to be a good father to sungjae.
@@56budz That's true. I think the show just gives him extra incentive to make time for Seungjae. Otherwise, I think he'd forget in the midst of his day-to-day stress.
yeah me too, cos Seungjae really was telling how he felt alone and how he hopes to spend more time with his Dad. Like usually he acts like he doesn't really care and ok T____T my baby, I wanna go and give him a hug
Of all the challenges ever happened to this family in this show, I think this was the best one. All of us including Jiyong-appa realized that eventhough Seungjae is a smart and a strong little boy, he still yearns for the fatherly affection even throughout the years. Relatable isn't it?
Jiyong and his wife taught Seungjae so well! I love Jiyong’s teaching style, and I’m glad he’s a little tough on Seungjae, thats why Seungjae is such a smart kid. One day, Seungjae will understand how much Jiyong loves and work hard for him❤️One day Seungjae, your dad is like this for a reason and you’ll find out sooner or later. You’re the world to him.
Jiyoung please don’t stress you are a great Dad and Seungjae is still small. He will realize your love and concern as he grows up. It’s all becoz of you and your wife’s upbringing that Seungjae is growing as the smartest, kindest and sweetest kid! Best family❤️
Am I the only one that has been watching this episode for over 10 times and read all the comments ? I really can not get enough with Seungjae..... love him...
Omy g.o.d Son Ho Young? he is more handsome. he’s such a child charmer! But Ji Young don’t feel bad. There’s really a patient person like him. Being Dad is hard;
This episode give us two important life lessons. 1. Only your closed and trusted one can deceive you. 2. To be good at any role you need to reflect on yourself first and work on your shortcomings.
i feel so bad for jiyong.. he trully is doing his best as a father despite his limitations as a person.. sungjae is longing for an affectionate father which is not jiyongs personality yet sungjae as young as he is loves his dad as he is and is patiently understanding how he is.. omg my heart
I think Jiyong is way too hard on himself. I honestly think that he's doing a great job as a dad and that Seungjae loves him a lot and he doesn't need to change one bit
@@delysarov6641 i'm not saying he's a bad parent, all i'm saying is I think that he is too hard on himself when he doesn't need to be because Seungjae adores him the way he is and Jiyong doesn't have to change
I agree. There are wayyyyyy worse dads out there. Clearly Jiyong and Yangim have done an EXCEPTIONAL job with Seungjae, his high IQ and EQ prove it. He doesn't *need* to change a thing. There is always room for small improvement, we are all human, but as far as *needs* go, Jiyong is a great parent. If he *wants* to be warmer, more playful, those can be worked on, but people can't change their personalities. Jiyong would be drained if he tried being super playful after work at 11:00 pm. Cmon.
@@gladitsnotme yeah, but as adults we only see a kid's physical and intellectual needs. From a kid's perspective, their emotional needs are the most important. (And in fact, emotional parenting style goes on to affect all aspects of resilience, attachment, etc after kids grow up.) It's not a question of fault or blame per se, but more that Jiyong needs to force himself to think from his son's perspective too. It's not so much about warmth, but more of paying his son the right kinds of attention. E.g. not shaming his son for accidentally knocking stuff over, especially as his fine motor skills are still developing.
I think that depend the situation, if kid not intentional knock food of course you must more patient. But sometime kid play with food, they throw it purposely. Then you must stern.
"Then why didn't you play with me before?" This breaks my heart :'( When Hoyoung's about to leave and Seungjae won't let him, I can barely hold my tears. Honestly, I was kinda worried that Seungjae would want Hoyoung to be his Dad for real xD I mean, no matter how smart he is, he's still a child after all (not that I doubt Jiyong's love for Seungjae, of course). But thankfully, Seungjae wants his real appa after all. ^^
The fact that Jiyong is able to spend time with Seungjae despite his busy schedule makes a huge difference. Also he’s willing to learn and listen from others point of view helps in any parenting. You can only improve as a parent and hope that once our children go out on their own that they carry themselves the way we raise them. Seungjae is a is a great kid and has a bright future. JiYong and Yangim are great parents. It is very rare to see fathers interact in their child’s life. Those who are this way are often called harsh or unloving which makes it awkward as they get older. However, they have come a long way. Sure he may play hot and cold but at the end of the day there’s still that love and appreciation for his father.
When your dad loves you so much but lack of affection and not someone who can easily express theif feeling but he really want to show the son how much he love him so he decide to do this kind of show🥺
I believe that Seungjae is aware that Son Hoyoung is not his real dad and that Ko Jiyong is just hiding somewhere. I can see it in his facial expressions and the way he tells his feelings to Son Hoyoung so that Ko Jiyong will be able to know his feelings. Seungjae is so sweet for still choosing his appa as long as he doesn't yell "hey" at him every time. Ahhhh I wanna have a kid like him.
14:14 This made me so sad... I hope Jiyong will spend more time with Seungjae in the future! Also, gotta lol at how Seungjae remembered to check the basement this time :P
Well the fact is that life in Korea, especially in Seoul, is all about work and success. Most people concentrate on that mostly. Thats why I really admire the dad's on this show, especially Jiyong. They really are taking time away from something most of the people around them judge them on, their work, to spend time with their kids. It's a little risky. But their kids are most important so they do the show.
Both dads are fine in their own way but I think Jiyong is a fine dad. Hoyoung gets along with kids a lot but you can tell he spoils them wayyyy too much. The way he babies Seungjae can harm Seungjae in the long run if Jiyong was just like him. Jiyong knows how to discipline and I believe he’s a great dad.
It goods to have a balance. My dad 'spoiled' me and my mom 'disciplined' me. I was always favorable to my dad tho not because he spoiled me but because we connected more than I did with my mom. She smothered me when I was a kid and so we grew apart. I'm in my 20s now and our relationship is on the edge of cliff either resting peacefully or hanging unbalanced at the edge. So I think it's good to have the two sides even if the child is favorable towards one. :) That's my opinion anyway
Reina I doubt Sechskies will guest since we don't really see YGE artists on the show. I think the only times any YGE artists appeared were when Tablo and Haru were cast members and when Sean & his kids visited the Song triplets. Jiyong is probably more inclined to call Hoyoung since he is not only a childhood friend but has actual child rearing experience (Jaemin from Baby Diaries + babysitting Taewoo's kids)
This is so sweet! Jiyoung is such a caring dad, he always tries his best to be someone his son can look up to and love. You can really tell that he wants the best for his son and loves him very much. He’s such a lucky boy to have such loving parents! ❤️
My mother came in the room asking me why I'm crying I said to her I'm fine with a crack voice and a few minutes later I heard my mom and dad saying we have weird kids I'm dying because of laughing
I think Son Hoyoung did a great job when Seungjae spilled the ice cream. It was clearly an accidnet with how Seungjae reacted. So instead of getting upset he taught him how to clean up and praised him how well he did. This would encourage Seungjae to clean up the next time he spills. I understand work is important for many parents but little kids like Seungjae don't care about all the toys and fancy house they are in, all they want is to spend time with his dad. And years from now all he is going to remember is the fun times he spent with his parents. Hopefully, his dad reflects and chooses to come home early some days to spend time with Seungjae.
Laughing at the beginning but cried as it goes. Children do need affectionate parents but sometimes it's not natural to some people so there really needs to be effort. It's work but that's just the way it is. This isn't just a lesson for Jiyong-ssi but to all of us who are like him. Maybe when Seungjae gets older he'll appreciate his dad's hardwork in his business but for now he needs someone who spends time with him and shows him love. Thank you Jiyong-ssi for aggreeing to do this even if you have to show your vulnerable side on camera. You can do it!
Kathleen In Korean culture it is not common for adults to be affectionate especially if you were from Jiyong's generation. Hwijae himself said that he was raised with a stern father and had to learn to be affectionate with his twins.
Who else is crying ??? I've followed Ko duo since the beginning and I can say that this kind of vids make my heart aches . It's because Jiyong isn't a showy dad andhe finds it hard to communicate well with Seungaje. Thanks Jiyong has seen more of what his son really feels towards him.

As a preschool teacher, I noticed several things Son Hoyoung did:
1.) He spent time on the floor/ side by side with Seungjae (this allows for more personal eye-to-eye communication)
2.) He let the child take the lead in playtime
3.) He allowed the child to speak, engaging him with questions (didn't use a lot of W-H questions, but the child made up for it by speaking his mind, which Son Hoyoung allowed and encouraged)
4.) He physically caressed the child lovingly, reminding Seungjae that he is safe and cared for
5.) He spoke gently and calmly, even when the child spilled his ice cream
6.) He was patient with Seungjae
7.) He enriched the learning environment by adding variety to their play (dog, toys, making sandwiches)
8.) He praises and encourages Seungjae
9.) He let the child choose his own preferences when making sandwiches
Just a few things I saw that made me really happy.

They came a long way, from “I don’t like you”, “I only need mom” to “I love you” & “I was upset when you come home late”
💛💛
yeah i also read somewhere that the reason why jiyoung decided to join this program is ho could make some memories with seungjae
@@好き菅田くん yeah
I can see how hard Jiyong is trying. And it's completely different dealing with a child who isn't yours for only a short period of time. Of course you won't get upset or angry when they spill something or don't listen. But when you put up with that all the time it's understandable that it'll eventually get frustrating. It's okay for Jiyong to be stern with him. Doesn't make him a bad father at all. I just think he needs a balance of play and discipline.
Exactly.
What u mean by 'child who isnt yours' ? So seungjae is not his real son? Sorry i dont get it.

You will cry. You will laugh. You will feel every emotion under the sun.
Your love for your child is strong, you will be amazed how strong. You thought you loved before? Not until you had your baby.

Jiyong is a great parent
This reminds me of me and my dad. He worked a lot at a very stressful job. As I little kid I didn't understand that he was tired and even though he didn't play with me a lot he considered being in the same room quality time. My dad is brusque too, but now as a adult I see how he talks to me way sweeter than anyone else. My mom would always say "your dad loves you sooo much", and I got that but now I really get it. Hopefully Seungjae and any other kids with dad's like ours will grow up and be able to see it too.
EloiseInParis Im cryinggg
Agreed! I think when a person matures, only then can they finally understand their parents and how much they care and love their kids
Im single working mother when my kids still young they always say i dont love them, they didn't know i cry everytime i leave at home .but know they are young adult, i think they realize that's everything i do is for them, And im happy to say nowadays my children is my bestfriend and they always told me Mothers thanks for everything and we love you😍😍😍

lets we all take a moment to thank TROS because this show really does progress for their relationship.

@m.k knox
So true ...I totally agree (>ω
I cried so much during this episode. They're a great father and son combination no matter what :)
When your dad loves you so much but lack of affection and not someone who can easily express theif feeling but he really want to show the son how much he love him so he decide to do this kind of show🥺
I cried when Sungjae made a mess and ask fake dad why he didn't scold him. I felt that.
Ahhhh I wanna have a kid like him.
he actually told Son Hoyoung whick cup he uses

This made me so sad... I hope Jiyong will spend more time with Seungjae in the future!
Also, gotta lol at how Seungjae remembered to check the basement this time :P
Of course it would be hard considering how busy he is. He’s doing a better job than many parents out there already.
This is one of my favorite Seungjae episodes. So sad that he's left the show now 😭
He's so smart!!! I love him!! Seugjae is amazing! The smartest young child I've ever seen.
I don’t think Hoyoung has kids tho, so he wouldn’t know how to discipline 😂
It goods to have a balance. My dad 'spoiled' me and my mom 'disciplined' me. I was always favorable to my dad tho not because he spoiled me but because we connected more than I did with my mom. She smothered me when I was a kid and so we grew apart. I'm in my 20s now and our relationship is on the edge of cliff either resting peacefully or hanging unbalanced at the edge. So I think it's good to have the two sides even if the child is favorable towards one. :) That's my opinion anyway
he is a lieral kid, he isnt spoiling him. He is engaging with him
since g.o.d hoyoung made an appearance, can we maybe anticipate a sechskies member next ?? or nah lol
Reina Ikr I hope all the Sechskies members visit them❤️
Make him play with Jaejin... That would be epic...
YES PLEASE 😭😭😭
Reina I doubt Sechskies will guest since we don't really see YGE artists on the show. I think the only times any YGE artists appeared were when Tablo and Haru were cast members and when Sean & his kids visited the Song triplets. Jiyong is probably more inclined to call Hoyoung since he is not only a childhood friend but has actual child rearing experience (Jaemin from Baby Diaries + babysitting Taewoo's kids)
@@mxgirl918 remember Bentley and William visited yg cafeteria (ByongJae? D comedian is a friend of Sam) and Dara joined them.
This program should be watch by anyone that has a plan to have a family in the future...this program teaches us to be a good parents...
Hoyoung is really a sweet appa. Hope he get married and have kids and join this show.
Seungjae mistaking him for Taeyoung 😂😂😂😂
Im mistaking him too 😅 i thought he was taeyoung 😅
White Flower taeyoung has more of a pointed chin 😂😂his is a little bit rounder
@@na4293 you right 😅
Jb got7 loved
💑😳😉😳😉😂
This is so sweet! Jiyoung is such a caring dad, he always tries his best to be someone his son can look up to and love. You can really tell that he wants the best for his son and loves him very much. He’s such a lucky boy to have such loving parents! ❤️
Seungjae - the current you goes 'ya, ko seungjae!'
Jiyong appa - "Its not like you're Kim seungjae.."
Puhahaha
Cik Isna HAHAHAHAHAA and seungjae’s expression 😂😂😂
I'm even impressed that Seungjae understand the joke, he's just a kid
mari chen Ocampo he changed his first name ‘ko’ to ‘kim’

My mother came in the room asking me why I'm crying I said to her I'm fine with a crack voice and a few minutes later I heard my mom and dad saying we have weird kids I'm dying because of laughing
Such an underrated comment😂😂😂
I never seen Seungjae smile a lot
Haha seungjae....it's obvious that he knew that he wasn't his dad. You cant fool the genius
True enough. There are people, by nature, who are not demonstrative when it comes to their feelings. But it doesnt mean they love less.
@@itsgreysbee Yes, it's especially hard for Jiyong-ssi because aside from being not expressive, he's also running a company so he's very busy.
Kathleen In Korean culture it is not common for adults to be affectionate especially if you were from Jiyong's generation. Hwijae himself said that he was raised with a stern father and had to learn to be affectionate with his twins.
Hoyoung is cute and smart. he know how make a kid happy. he become a good father
Hoyoung will be a great dad someday! His child/children will be very lucky to have a dad like him.
