AB Talks: Emaar’s Mohamed Alabbar on record results, leadership & why Dubai is set to rival New York

- The UAE has emerged from the economic pit lane of the pandemic like a racing car leaping into pole position, with its handling of the coronavirus creating an open and accelerating business environment seen in few other countries.
Perhaps nowhere has this been seen more has been Dubai’s resurgent real estate market which month on month has set records throughout 2021.
The latest evidence on this has been the Q3 results posted recently by Emaar Properties, generating Dh26 billion ($7.2 billion) of sales in the first nine months of the year. That’s three times the sales of a year ago.
So is this just revenge activity and pent up demand, or is there something more fundamental driving the market? AB Talks is joined by Emaar Properties founder Mohamed Alabbar to unpack what’s happening in the market.

Coming from Africa and having lived in Europe and North America for me the UAE and specially Dubai it’s a great place to live and work !!! And people like Mr Alabbar have done a lot to make the city of Dubai a great place !!

I remember visiting the economic department Mondays - that was the day - Al Abbar ( heading Ded at the time ) would come down and meet businessman and find solutions to problems
UAE Is the best Country I have lived in.
Emaar is delivering very poor quality projects these days . I have bought an apartment in their latest handed over building 52|42 and the quality is absolutely appaling. They lied to us at the time of launch giving us big promises and really poor quality finishes . Be aware before buying from them .

Well they can’t compare themselves globally cos the quality of the finishes are poor.
