This song is better enjoyed at night when gentle breeze is blowing at you outside, with palm wine and bush meat while you move gently on your seat. Truly, happiness is found in the little things.
I am man of Swedish heritage living in Texas,USA. I have been listening to King Sunny Ade since 1979. Still don't understand what is being sung. But I'm still jamming to it!.
I hear you. Some 24 years ago while working as a holiday help at the US Postal Service during the Xmas season, I could hear someone, a white dude humming the sound of the Kings hit song of 1982 Juju Music while working and I went close to him to ask him if he was actually singing KSA's music. He said yes, and we hit it up right and then. I was a couple of years living in the US at the time and he was kind enough to direct me to where I could purchase a lot of KSA CDs in Lansing, USA where I reside. If music is the food of love, then play on.
Nostalgic.....My dad stopped playing his collections few years before he died. When I asked why, he told me playing his albums made him remember what Nigeria used to be compared to what it has become, that he is not happy. I grew listening to this album and many more!
My dad plays this song when we were younger. King Sunny Ade and Ebenzer Obey. Anytime they play, he never ceases to add that this song reminds him of when Nigeria was still good.
