So.. all those secret recipes, hard to find ingredients, methods, techniques and you do the bloom with just water, floetrol and paint? That was honestly the most informative video I've watched in the last 3 years. Thank you very, VERY much. Your bloom looked exactly like all the others that use the plethora of wood conditioners, varnishes, waxes, etc. All with exactly what I have here at home already. I'm stunned. And happy!!!!

Thank you so much for all the information you've given in this video. You are THE BEST instructor ever! You not only go slowly and tell us how to do this but you also tell us WHY we need to do this and I appreciate that so much. Beginner's Mind is something that a lot of teachers forget about once they've learned a technique but you seem to have kept us beginners in mind and because you've made this so much more understandable I now finally feel like I can begin doing this. I've already bought all the supplies (except for the torch) but I've been putting off starting to pour because I hadn't felt comfortable enough before I discovered your video. Now I can truly say I feel much more comfortable doing this so thank you again!

You answered so many questions. I love how you not only provided detailed instructions on each step.... you went beyond that and said WHY it was done a specific way. Fantastic video!
Out of all the videos I have watched, I have learned more about doing a dutch pour watching yours. Thank you for making it simple for those of us (me) that need eazy~pezy !!!
Fantastic! How did I miss this video? I have done 200+ paintings, and I was starting to get pretty decent results... then I saw a "recipe" and changed what I was doing and started having terrible results! It took me several months to figure out that this new "recipe" that I had found was for a totally different technique! Your teaching skills are amazing! I am now ready to start "finishing" the 200+ projects so I can hopefully sell some of them! I love watching your videos! Keep up the great work Tammy!

Hello Tammy, just wanted to say a huge thank you for this amazing video, I've just started doing acrylic pours and have wasted 3 or 4 canvases now because no other video gives you such a detailed information. So thank you so very much! I now know where I've been going wrong. There is so much rubbish out there about acrylic pouring, some say glue, some say not as it makes the paint crack (and I can say categorically it does!), some say water, some not and Silicone, well don't get me on Silicone! I've been adding Silicone but having done an awful lot of research and also now seeing your amazing video, I now know it's the Floetrol and water that creates the cells, not silicone! I've typed up my notes with a picture of your beautiful delicate flower to give me confidence. I now know it was the heat gun cracking my paint when dry in addition to using glue, so from now on only Floetrol & water to mix the paint! I now have a small torch coming tomorrow. You've given me such hope that I can finally get an acrylic pour right! Wish I was in Connecticut but sadly I'm in St. Albans, UK, otherwise I'd be there having lessons from you! Thanks a million Heather
Hi Tammy, thank you so much for your inspiring and indepth videos. BUT, I'm in the uk and the price of floetrol is madness. A small bottle is about £80 from google. with import costs etc. However owetrol is readily available at a good price in England and wondered what your thoughts are on this product or indeed as floetrol is so expensive can you suggest your next best recipe that does not include flotrol even as a CA ?. I look forward to more videos from you.
U are one of the best videos I have come across I appreciate you very much for sharing and teaching ❤❤❤ Art is definitely a healer Thankfully grateful for you❤❤❤
I agree with everyone else, you are an exceptional teacher. I have tried three of these now and got so discouraged, because I used to do pours and I didn’t realize the paint has to be so thin. I keep my blow dryer on the cool setting after I burnt the paint in the first one.😂😂😂. I’m not giving up you have given me hope. Thank you so much.
You teached better than anyone else. I've been watching acrylic pouring for about a year but I kept seeing different techniques. People not explaining the way it should. And I watch your video and bam... I feel ready to finally try it 😌
@Maggie Marti Have you tried it yet? Right?? She did a great job of explaining, especially about the consistency of the paint! I stumbled across some paints at Dollar Tree today and came home looking for ways to use them and discovered this technique. BUT alot of the other videos didn't talk in so much detail about the consistency and just said "add water", but I was nervous so I just tried my first one without adding anything... Well, it definitely had a different reaction! Lol I posted my first attempt on video on my Channel. I look forward to trying it again now that I have a better idea on how to mix in the additional ingredients!! Lol Happy Creating!!!
@@TrinaRaysTrekofLife hii! Yes I did. But it came out so weird and it started cracking once it dried up 🤔 and it was hard to move it around. Maybe because I was using a heat gun? And the acrylic pour was a Wal-Mart brand as well. I'll be trying it again soon. Maybe using cold hair dryer rather than heat gun
@@ConvexPaintingNerd Awesome! I'm glad you at least tried it! Sorry that it dried and cracked! 😔 I guess we just have to keep trying until we master it too!!
You answered all of the questions I’ve had on how to do a Dutch pour. Well done and you are an excellent teacher. Good luck with your business and I’m glad I’m subscribed. Thank you.
Tammy, you are a great teacher you explained everything much better than all the other video’s on TH-cam. I’m going to try my first pour today thanks to you .....grazie mille
Hi Tammy, thank you for the in depth explanation of each step as you worked on that beautiful painting. For those of us who are new to this technique, it is extremely helpful to be given this information in such a concise and orderly manner. Thank you so much.
I learned more watching your video than I did in the 10 previous I've watched! Thank you so much for taking the time to really explain everything. Your piece is absolutely stunning!
Thank you I have learn about silicone and the effects on the resin. I did not know that. I appreciate your video. You will do great giving lessons to those who would like to learn 🙏
This is so beautiful. Wow. I appreciate some of what you explained. I never realized the heat gun starts to bake the paint. That's all I've used so far to pop bubbles. It didn't seem to do anything to the paint as far as I could tell, but maybe it really did! I'm def going to get a torch! I also didn't realize the Floetrol extended the drying time. I have to admit I've been quite perplexed as to why the dry time is so long as I used to paint with acrylics (in a more conventional type of painting kind of way) and the layers with that would be dry in 10 or 15 minutes or so. I did realize the paint layer with the pours was a bit thicker than when painting in thin layers with a brush, but it still hadn't made sense to me that it was taking 24 hours or even a bit more with the pours. I'm so glad to know that about the Floetrol now. The outcome of this painting here is really amazing!!
Acrylic paint does not dry as quickly as you think unless it is super thin.....what happens with most acrylic applications (not just thick applications like poured paint) is that the surface dries first but the under layers remain wet and continue to off gas for a while. If you try to go in and modify something too soon, the acrylic paint lift in clumps and you may ruin your piece.
This is my second time watching this. I tried a couple last night and got so so results. But I see now that my paint was too thick and I cannot be afraid of using a good amount of paint on the base. I like your quiet way of teaching.
Love the painting, but more i love the way you explain how to do the pour. I have been watching you for several months and I still learn and pick up things I didn't know. Love you Tammy. Love your videos.
thank you so much for this extraordinary beginners lesson on a Dutch Pour. I learned so much and questions I had were answered in the process. I started pouring probably two month ago and I´m hooked.
Thank you for sharing your art and techniques through these videos. I have learned so much from you. You have answered so many important questions I’ve been seeking answers to. Keep up the good work! Your videos are more helpful than you know!
Truly the best video I have found explaining the technique, the types of heat needed, and the way to mix the paints. I really feel enabled to try this for myself.
Stunning work Tammy! This is the first of your tutorials I’ve watched and they’re so informative. I’m so inspired to try a Dutch pour now - thank you 😊🙏🏻 🤗
I've been pouring for 2 years now but, I just got a blow dryer to try this technique. Priscilla suggested watching your videos to get great instructions. She was spot on as usual. Great instructions! I'm going to watch a few of your other videos on Dutch pour and then give it a blow😄💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you that looks amazing. I have just tried my first puzzle it came out really well but my paint consistency wasn't right your advice I think will help me very much thank you
Thank you for this lesson Tammy. I learned a lot from watching your video. your pouring technic is well explained and what a gorgeous rendering. One question remains unanswered: should the painting be varnished after complete drying? Thank you for this essential information to obtain a quality result.
I went out today and bought a new hairdryer with the type of concentrator your suggested. WHAT A MARVELOUS DIFFERENCE! I sent pictures to my kids and even they noticed the big difference. In addition, I thinned my paints just a bit more. I just made the first Dutch pour I am so PROUD of! Thank you so much for your lessons. You and Kanella are the BEST!
What a beautiful job! I love how detailed you are at explaining the technique since I am still in the "researching" phase. This can be a little overwhelming at first but I can't wait to jump in and begin. I look forward to finding you on social media.
Wow, your painting is beautiful! Thanks for explaining the Dutch pour and explaining why you did certain things and what to use. I am new to acrylic pours and can't wait to try this. One question since silicone is so stubborn, why use it, can you do a painting without it?
People may not understand that every paint type is not the same. Thicker paints like the liquitex need more medium, thinner paints like craftsmart need much less and sometimes even a thickener like glue.
Hahaha! I splattered black paint everywhere today trying to do a dutch pour. That's why I searched for a beginner video. Tammy is the BEST! Maybe the next time won't be so, ummm, interesting. lol
Your paint might have been in the thin side if it blew past you 😉. Also, it takes a couple of times to get the hang of holding the dryer. Ive been pouring for a year and every once in a while, I’ll get a bit wild with the dryer. You will have failures. I promise this but please don’t give up. The ONLY way you will learn is to push past the failures and learn from them. They will teach you. Remember, you own the paint. It doesn’t own you. Make it work for you. If you don’t like it, swipe the paint off and start over.
Pam Cullen when using a blow dryer or do some spinning I place everything into a kid’s pool to catch the flying colors. When I have my work table closer to the wall I add some of the cardboard trifold boards. I get those at the dollar store.

im just starting... ( i love how you taught this process of mixing the colors!). I have one question: Do you mix the base paint (white in this case) with Floetrol in the same way as the colors (small cups)?
This is VERY pretty. You did a very good job of teaching. I've never done acrylic pouring, but I want to. So I watch every beginner video I come across. Then I can pick and choose. This will be one I choose. Thank you
Well ty my friend❤. I have a playlist for beginners although almost every video I post is a teaching video that playlist called back to basics is extremely in depth teaching that may be beneficial. I would recommend learning about different recipes and when to use then for which techniques. This is the list of videos th-cam.com/play/PL70CosHv43rJjr907GuCPbIubFGztGFmK.html
Thank you for giving a step by step. I have watched several 101 beginner videos and NONE of them were so good at explaining how to mix. I now understand why I wasn't getting cells. Can't wait to try again tomorrow!!!
GREAT TUTORIAL TAMMY!!! I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND HOW TO MIX MY PAINTS FOR DUTCH POUR NOW. I NEVER KNEW WHY METALLIC'S SEEMED HARDER TO MIX BUT NOW I KNOW. THANK U FOR USING THE TERM ''CUPS" AND "TEASPOON'S" I UNDERSTAND THAT A LOT BETTER.
Thanks for the lesson as I liked the color burst even though you used minimal colours; once again this is a test piece for you ☆☆.I Feel that's it's colour explosion with minimal colours
Tammy i haven't started to pour yet. I have been doing as you say and that is watching so many people and different ways of pouring. I didn't think i needed to look at a beginners class but i saw the picture of the end result and that's what i was interested in. Of course i have watched so many pours where the different colours had developed but until i watched yours i hadn't really absorbed that with just a few colours you had made this kaleidoscope and it was beautiful. Thank you so much Tammy. I will not be thinking again in the future that i don't need to look at something that could help me. I live in the UK but had i been near you i would have had a class from you. Take care Tammy. Shirley. X

Thanks Tammy, I learned another very valuable lesson, after I gave up on the Dutch Pour which are always a flop. Here in South Africa we cannot buy Floetrol, only PM. So I'm now going to do some tests with lots less PM or even only paint and water. Great that you share this knowledge. Thanks again.

You only learn by doing it over and over...and with all my little failures, I'd like to think I'm due for a success!😉
Beautiful painting and thank you for your very clear instructions. God's blessings.
I am in CT loved this. Thank you!
Hello my fellow nutmeger❤❤
Thank you very much! Your teaching is brilliant!
Beautiful! Explained very well, too.
Hello Elizabeth how are you doing
Beautiful, Tammy!❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈🌟💥
I just love it ,lm just starting out l would love to be able to do this beautiful piece, what is in your base paint please l know you have Floetrol but it’s the paint l would like to know thank you
This is the best beginner video I've found. You not only showed the 'how' but included the 'why'. Thank you!
im just starting... ( i love how you taught this process of mixing the colors!). I have one question: Do you mix the base paint (white in this case) with Floetrol in the same way as the colors (small cups)?
It seems like all the paints are mixed in the same way, but it would be nice to get some clarity from the master!

That's amazing! Thank you Tammy.
Thank you, I’m going to try this out now, fingers crossed!
I thought Flotrol was pouring medium, so thank you for that information.
What is a painting medium?
Good video 😊 thank you
Very informative. Thank you so very much❤
This is VERY pretty.
So helpful. It answered so many questions. I feel so much more confident about pouring now. Thank you so much.
Beautiful...you are the best teacher! No doubt your classes will fill up quickly. Best of Luck!
SO YOU ARE THE VERY BEST‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Thank you from Acapulco Mexico❤️🙏🏻
You are an exceptional teacher!!!
Why ty my friend. I appreciate that ❤
You are a great teacher. One of the best instructional videos on pour painting I have seen. Thank You!
Thank you for the lesson your awesome!
Thank you for your video and being you. I FINALLY understand and believe I can get the mixes and techniques correct. Thank you Tami!
Shirley. X
Tammy I totally enjoy your videos. You do such a good job in explaining. I have watched so so many videos and there is none of them that explain how to do these paintings as well as you do. I enjoy watching and listening to what you do do. You are an expert in explaining what you do. So I thank you for sharing and explaining in a way that anyone can buy. Thank you for sharing.
So glad I found this by searching for dutch pour & I got so much more 😀 thanx so much!
Tammy this is the best video I have watched that explains in detail of what to do. Easy to understand the principles. Thank you and your painting is so beautiful!
Right?? She did a great job of explaining, especially about the consistency of the paint!
I stumbled across some paints at Dollar Tree today and came home looking for ways to use them and discovered this technique. BUT alot of the other videos didn't talk in so much detail about the consistency and just said "add water", but I was nervous so I just tried my first one without anything added... Well, it definitely had a different reaction! Lol I posted my first attempt video on my Channel. I look forward to trying it again now that I have a better idea on how to mix in the additional ingredients!! Lol
Happy Creating!!!
Thank you for the detailed instruction Tammy! I love your work.
A very big thank you. Whenever I‘be tried to blow a flower before, it quickly becomes a chaos blow. Being a newbie, your tutorial is the best I have seen. Again thank you. I can’t wait to give this a try. Jules
Great video and very informative, the painting looks fantastic thank you
This is a brilliant video.
Thank yoyx
You are a patient woman Tammy Anderson, to spend more than half your video explaining what you're getting ready to do, and then doing it. Truly captivating. Beautiful too!
Very good lesson. You are a very good teacher.
You are a really good teacher. Thank you
