  • A diehard Tool fan reaction to the song "Weak and Powerless" from the album Thirteenth Step by A Perfect Circle. This excellent song and the fantastic audio engineering has me wondering: did they clone Maynard James Keenan? You need to wear headphones to fully experience this song.

Okay, I'll be adding this album to my library. Especially seeing the other comments talking about this album being a concept album, and being centred around the twelve step program. I'm currious how it compares thematically to Dream Theatre's Twelve Step Suite

Hey Dingo, glad you liked it. I've heard of Dream Theatre and never got into them, so that could be another band to explore. Thanks for reminding me of them.

Came here from the SKZ videos. Just want to support the rest of your channel and hear some new music from time to time with an appreciation I might not otherwise pay to artists I don't typically go for. I may never listen to this song again, but I got to enjoy it now!

@@tonystocco yeah I appreciate it since I don't trust those Spotify AI algorithms as far as I can throw em

🎯 That's why I started this channel. Apple Music was giving me all the same stuff. So I hoped if I started making videos on music I've never heard, people would start to recommend new artists. Shockingly it's working. 😊

Great video man keep it up! You should react to more Tool!

Hey fung1hs! I would LOVE to react to Tool, but it wouldn't be real because I've heard every Tool song hundreds of times (that's not an exaggeration). I'm praying Tool releases another album soon since it's been 5+ years from Fear Inoculum... if they do I'll be reacting to it.

If you ever listen to the rest of this album and happen to particularly like The Nurse Who Loved Me- I'd highly recommend listening to the original artist of that song, Failure! One of my favorite bands of all time, with some great tracks like The Nurse Who Loved Me, Another Space Song, Sergeant Politeness (all three of which come from their 1996 album Fantastic Planet), Counterfeit Sky, Dark Speed, Pennies, Frogs, Bernie... they've got some great sounds in their discography nd I always like to recommend them to people who at least like tracks off of Thirteenth Step :)

Checking out your other videos and see you reacting to A Perfect Circle...honestly that's great, i used to be obsessed with their song 'Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm Of The War Drums'. If you haven't heard it yet....please go give it a listen, its so good! If you already know it though..how do you like it??
Edit: watching your Pet reaction right now and realised that if you haven't heard Counting Bodies yet that it will remind you of Pet bc of the shared lyrics haha, but the sound is different (i love them both)

7:15 There's definitely a theme and "journey" to this album, so I would suggest you give it a listen front to back at some point. The title is in reference to 12-step programs and the songs are all related to substance abuse, addiction, recovery, relapse, etc. I have never been in the AA / NA community myself, but apparently the "thirteenth step" is lingo for when a long time member uses their status to take advantage of a vulnerable newcomer, with the intention of developing a sexual relationship. It's up for interpretation, but I feel like APC is highlighting the fact that joining / completing a 12-step program may help with addiction, but it can't save you from being a shitty person.

It's a solid song of a good album. Personally, I prefer Mer De Noms (Judith is my all-time favourite).
If you ever delve into Puscifer, I'd like to hear your opinion on The Undertaker of the V Is For V@gina album (not sure if YT is going to flag my comment if I write the word properly).

I agree Judith is my favorite so far... and yes I'd like to get back into APC and eventually Puscifer.
