    This man's energy is fiery and intense - I like that.

      Thanks for saying that. Sometimes people comment that my energy is to much. But I’m passionate about making comics. That’s for watching.

    I wish someone had shown me this video when I was younger. When I was a kid, I never used to have a plot when I made comics. I just made up stuff as I drew. I'd have a basic outline like "a Jedi meets a bounty hunter" then it's anything goes after that. I'd get stuck halfway and quit the comic out of frustration. I probably have a box full of half-finished comics at my parents' house. Thanks for the helpful vid, Scott!

      Yeah, don’t feel too bad. I was the same way when I was younger.

      I did that same thing. The improv was fun. But for legit stories im starting to flesh stories out more. Which sucks for older stories cause fixing older stories leads to retcons. But i have a new story now and its much better

    These videos are packed with info,I have to rewatch them just to absorb evweything.
    Honestly with this video series,the comic maker tool kit and starter kit,combined with all the workbooks you're putting out on Amazon. It's so much easier to make a comic. All the tools are there,it's just up to us to use them. Thanks Scott for all you do for the comic creating community.

    Catch 22 is a perfect example of it. the whole thing regresses from the opening to all of the craziness of the war.

    I loved how Indy basically just survived in "Raiders." Not what you expect. And naturally it makes you think of LotR, 'cause Frodo is another hero who doesn't achieve the climax.

    • @ScottSerkland
      @ScottSerkland  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about that, while Indy never had any contact with the ark Frodo did carry the ring on thoughout the journey.

    • @ethandarcy5940
      @ethandarcy5940 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ScottSerkland Indy found the Ark's resting place. The Nazis were looking in the wrong place and had to follow him. (Come to think of it, way to go, Dr. Jones.) Anyways, it is pretty widely loved, so when people mention it as an example of this supposed flaw, it makes me question our assumptions.

    Hola amigo Maybe you can help me out here since I’ve seen you have some videos with the cintiq art pad for some one who has been working old fashioned ink to paper comics but trying to move on over into more of the digital
    Side of art what is a good art pad for a beginner i know they can get expensive but money is not really an issue just trying find out the best route to go before making the final purchase

      I just posted a video about gifts for artist and I talked about the Huion Kamvas tablet. I have one and really like it. Way less expensive than a Cintiq

    I'm an architecturer by heart and there's a story genre called voyage and return where the character get sent to a different land and has to overcome the obstacles in that land before returning home.

    • @ScottSerkland
      @ScottSerkland  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say the Wizard of Oz is a perfect example of that type of story structure.
