Hello, Mr Bonevac. Great lecture. Thanks for sharing it!
In my opinion, there's a subtle line in that short story that illustrates Borges' intention of creating an upside world or an idealistic cosmos: "The metaphysicians of Tlön do not seek for the truth or even for verisimilitude, but rather for the astounding". It seems to me that the Argentinian author is paraphrasing a statement of Plato in a parodic way: "[...]wonder is the only beginning of philosophy[...]" From my perspective, this inversion of terms shows us that Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius is a philosophic mirror of our "realistic" world. As I said, everything is upside down... just like in a mirror.

Thanks for sharing your lecture. It definitely helped me understand, and subsequently teach, Borges.
Have you ever considered T,U,OT in the context of Buddhism, or Buddhist Idealism?
