Best overlanding channel yet. I really appreciate that you do not play music in your videos. Hearing the truck and trail sounds adds to the viewing enjoyment!
I dont know how long ive been subscribe to this channel, i remember it only has 30k subscribers, that was i few years back, i was shock checking the sub count and it made barely 20k addtitional subs, i wish youtube algorithm would pick this up and recommend it more, i enjoyed this very peaceful way of showing place's without the shouting and background music on other channels.
I watch all your episodes and rarely comment, but had to say Wow this one was just superb...amazing shots, gorgeous scenery, and a great story. This channel continues to be both an inspiration as well as simply a pleasure to watch.
Hey Donald it would be really nice to see you 2 do a vid together. At least you could give Chris some recipes & cooking pointers at least. Keep up the great work. We really enjoy what you do for us viewers. You help share places we'll probably never visit & a mental escape we all need. Thank You
Another great episode. It's real life, fantastic cinematography, no distracting soundtrack.....don't change a thing. I will keep tuning in week after week, just as I have for the last several years.
Chris Shontz, you, sir, are the embodiment of the spirit meant to pilot the Jeep. The first few minutes of this video I already knew this would be a favorite. That campsite helped me to make an important decision in my life now that I'm in a position to move on, ready to get out and explore our beautiful nation. To experience what you are experiencing is a must on my bucket list. Excellent photography. BTW that Lifestraw gravity feed bag is awesome and another piece of gear for my wish list.
Chris your adventures just keep getting better and better. Your way of describing your and connecting with your followers is one of the best . Be safe out here . Greetings from New York.
Wow! I don't usually comment, but I just have to say that your scenery shots on this one were one of your best! And please add more slow-mo shots because that one shot was awesome! At one point, you looked close to tipping over. Amazing video.
Loved this one! What beautiful shots of amazing places. It's been too long since I was up that way. I really enjoyed the gimbal shots inside the jeep. That shows what it's like so much better than the nauseating tilt and shake of a fixed mount on a rough trail. Thanks Chris, you got my weekend off to a great start!
I like the way you drive your Jeep sensibly. I watch a lot of videos of people traveling in groups,(which does not appeal to me), and because there is always help all around them they drive over really impossible obstacles just to show that they can. I would rather treat a $60,000 Jeep much better than that and it was good to see that there is at least one other Jeep owner who also takes care of his Jeep. When you are out alone, it does make you act much more responsibly. Very nice video! Thanks
This episode had the most amazing scenery. We really like the camera angle behind you when you are driving Chris:D Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing.
Thanks again Chris. You have inspired me to build a rig and hit the road..2020 hasnt been the best for to travel. I've only taken 2 local trip this year Joshua Tree and big bear due to open heart surgery in Feb and a kidney removed about 15 days ago. Even in the hospital I was streaming you videos to the TV. Because your videos are so peaceful and calming...(no funky TH-cam music) they've been a huge part of my recovery.. Waiting for your videos reminds me of being a kid waiting for Saturday morning cartoons..lol. Im on the mend now and my 1993 Range Rover classic is serviced and ready to hit the road in August..thanks for the inspiration! Safe travels.
HI. Thanks for sharing your awesome experiences. You are a go-to channel for me when I find the time to sit and actually watch something. Happy travels, Alexis
Gotta day man. Since the first day I discovered your channel back in 2018 while I was deployed in Afghanistan. I’ve always enjoy seeing the adventures and location you go to. And here I am once again deployed, and I continue to tune in each week and you didn’t disappoint. Colorado definitely is a place I want to visit and explore. Those views, I can only imagine how they are in person. Be safe and keep exploring.
Thanks Chris. Love that area of CO. Cottonwood pass is so picturesque, doesn't seem real when you're standing there looking at it. Keep the rubber side down. \m/ \m/
One of the best episodes of the channel, hands down. It's not so much what you did or even what you saw, but how it all came together. There are a lot of great shots, yes, but there are also a lot of little things you did to make this episode work. So, so cool. Well done.
Boy, I don't know if it's just me,but your video footage looks the best I've ever seen. I wish you the very best out there, and thanks for all your great videos. cheers
Breathtaking! Such work goes into what you do and you are incredibly talented. Thanks - we are grateful! I can’t wait for the border to open and explore some of these places. Great slow-mo btw 😁
Been watching for months, first time I recall hearing you say the name of your channel out loud. Never dawned on me to say it “Venture forward” 🤯. Love it!
Another stunner, much worth the boulder field. Givin' Jeep a good name on that shake & bake right there my man. Agreeing on liking the new inside camera angle. See you next week.
Been watching you for several weeks now. First video was the one in Creede since my niece was married there. I love your sense of adventure and honesty. Unbelievable views and of course the Jeep. Always wanted one. When we get the last kid in college we plan on touring the country in a camper of some sort. Keep up the great content. Hi from Alaska.
Huge fan of you Chris !! Thanks for share all your adventures, all your videos are amazing... waiting for the next video !! Take care of your self and put your mask on !!! 🤙🏻 ☕️
U cover a lot of country and some really remote areas great to see and watch but I’m amazed U don’t show a bit of the native wild life which I’m sure U must come across. Also it is good that U are back on Ur exploring I get immense pleasure from each episode U post. I didn’t realise U were on the road again but I’ve nearly caught up. Enjoy Ur videos just keep on showing us Ur great country ‼️👍
One of your very best videos Chris, quality work! Amazing scenery and technical driving! Right in your element. Also love the mountain towns and your sense of humour! Bravo! 👏⛰🏕🍕
Hey Chris. I've truly enjoyed watching your videos since I found your channel about a year ago. I'm always looking for new content and it's challenging to find really good stuff. Your videos are really a perfect blend of gorgeous scenery, dialogue and interesting things. This video really shows how you've grown in your skills. Composition, editing and finding really unique and beautiful camera shots. I've already watched it 3 times as it's just so good. Thanks for sharing your journey and all the work that goes into each episode. I look forward to your future work. Happy trails!!
Hey Chris! Great Video! I really like this latest series because I am a Colorado Native! I currently live in Castle Rock but have 4 Generations of family that have lived in Buena Vista. Just finished a camp trip in Taylor Park and also passed through this area last week when we traveled down to do the Alpine Loop! A pleasure to see you enjoying it and seeing all the familiar areas! Oh yeah and locals pronounce it Byou-nuh Vista. A town vote on the correct pronunciation some time in the 1800s, can't remember when. I think it talks about it on Wikipedia.
Thank you so much for your video and taking me along with you I’ve never seen such beauty you are a brave man to be out and almost nowhere and all you’ve got to depend on is your jeep and sometimes your radio. Great camerawork as usual, Can’t wait to see your next video have a great one and be careful🙏
I watched this on my big screen and you did a great job capturing the landscape views. It's hard to get them to translate to the screen but I felt like I was there. Good job!
Another awesome video Chris ! Really enjoying the Colorado content. Great distraction during these crazy times. In fact I enjoyed it so much I just signed up as a Patreon supporter.
Chris, this episode was one of my favorites so far! Your knack for cinematography is really impressive. I loved the scenery, the challenging four-wheel action and the coffee and pizza. I can’t wait till I get a little time off work so I can head up to Crested Butte also. For now, I’ll live vicariously through your adventures. Stay safe and stay well!
One of my favorite videos to date... nice job. Moose, technical jeep'n, scenery, front to rear seat narration... and Colorado can't be beat. Loved the mountain top cloud captures. Great job, Chris. Safe travels, and thank you so much for sharing your journey.
I really like that over-the-shoulder shot from within the Jeep while you're 4 wheeling. It really displays all the bouncing around you're doing, and still shows us the nice view of whatever it is you're seeing. Also, though breathtaking footage is becoming a normal thing for you to capture, this video and area was something special. Cottonwood Pass, and its surrounding areas are some of my favorite places on Earth, and you really captured why with this amazing footage.
Chris’s channel is simply the best Overland adventure series on TH-cam, hands down!! Such amazing scenery on this video.
I agree..!
Ditto!
I couldn't agree more
I'm a Colorado resident and Native and want to thank you for enjoying the trails responsibly! So many people come here and destroy everything.
This guy is the bob ross of overlanding.
My 2 year old just said, “I want to be that man.” Me, too, buddy...me, too. Thanks, Chris, for taking us along on your adventures. Stay safe.
He’s number 6. He’s talking early.
Best overlanding channel yet. I really appreciate that you do not play music in your videos. Hearing the truck and trail sounds adds to the viewing enjoyment!

Another great episode. It's real life, fantastic cinematography, no distracting soundtrack.....don't change a thing. I will keep tuning in week after week, just as I have for the last several years.
It’s like Saturday morning cartoons, but for adults. Nice video Chris! By far the best overlander channel on TH-cam.

I probably wasn't the only one who had to pause and visit the restroom when he was filling his Nalgene from the Lifestraw bag.
You show that 4x4 skill is more important than 4x4 equipment, as important as equipment can be.
Chris your adventures just keep getting better and better. Your way of describing your and connecting with your followers is one of the best . Be safe out here . Greetings from New York.

What a beautiful country we live in.
Extraordinary!!! Live for Jeep, Jeep for Mother Earth. Washo, Italian jeeper
Love the forward facing camera angle from the back f the Jeep ❤️
