Grateful for this. I haven't stumbled upon many interviews with Mr. Giamatti and I admire his work. Lesley Stahl did an above average job of interviewing him.
In whatever way one can know anyone you've never met I find him so interesting, intelligent and unique. He's brilliant on screen and fascinating in interviews 👏
As I grow older, I understand and appreciate the roles Paul he had played. Lately, especially the character he acted in The Holdovers ; it reflectes our lives. And Paul did a good job performing the role. I enjoyed the interview, he had made the deep meaningful conversations.
Keep up be strong everybody out there & love freedom of expression.. even when climate change knockes you down and out 😢😢😢😢movie actors are very helpfull indeed
I wonder how well AI can help Van Gogh truly come alive, so to speak. As a Artist myself, though not a painter, but a student of art history and technique, I would want his Avatar to be really wise and articulate. To speak about the art movements of his day, his rivals, his vision. Speak in great detail about his frustrations, his mental anguish. I have battled with depression, anxiety and self doubt, and it would be fantastic if Vincent could speak to those issues. Or hear his opinions of the artist's that were his contemporaries. To hear him describe a perfect day, or one that was miserable. That level of complexity is probably not possible. Maybe some day there will be a highly sophisticated AI robot version, of Van Gogh. Where we see him mix his paints, and prepare his brushes. Oil paints have a wonderful smell, the boiled linseed oil has a mellow smell.
I wonder if Van changed , made astoundingly better -other peoples lives while was alive? Or was he oppressed by new technologies creating mental health challenges?

I’m very disappointed he didn’t get 2024 best actor award for holdovers. Great chemistry with Dominic.J

Paul G is a mountain man on the path of solitude and magnanimity.
Wish alot of actors today had the stage training Paul does. Just don't bring near the same kind of complexity of expression.
