I like him. He's real and fucking true to himself, has this gentle peaceful and calm like flow. It is like back in the day. I love how weird he is too. Him messing up, just shows he's human. Him continuing, reflects strength. Big UPS.
+Pat B Floyd I understand your point. However, rappers are poets, rap is an acronym meaning Rhythm and Poetry. Everyone messes up sometimes, because we're not perfect. But in his case, right now he's better :)
I really love Raury's overall vibe. The quietness and calmness of his voice contributes to his positive energy; not to mention the words that he decides to say further compliments his pleasant feel. He is very original and his music is soothing in a way I didn't expect from somebody so young from background full of negative influences. The passion and genuine aura he gives off in his music is so refreshing in my opinion: his sound is unique, his message is heartfelt, his avoidance of violence/arrogance-centered lyrics entirely separates him from other artists, and he never seems like a god or somebody who is above other people; always coming off as just a normal person like you and me. This aspect of being relatable draws me to his music and makes me pray that he stays healthy and driven to be able to produce this music and evolve as a person and an artist. The kid is 19 years old I think? He will be something very special... in my opinion at least.
A lot of people are saying he's just alright. And in comparison to some things I'd probably agree. But just the fact that someone can watch this and not love it really opens my eyes to the differences in individuals. Quite amazing, actually. The way I feel about this verse he spit, is the same way someone else feels about one that I may think sucks. But what is it that makes something suck? Like what is everyone looking for when listening to music? The ability to relate to it? Something to dance or party to. An escape from reality? A window into reality? I don't know if any of this makes sense but... damn lol.
Shawn Lovett for real tho !!! To each his own taste but you if you can feel this in my opinion you have good taste and anyway its a soul thing so many different people and souls... I'm just always glad when I meet or read similar mind/souls
Shawn Lovett I think ppl recognize he has lyrics and some flow (even if its hella andre 3k), just the quiet delivery might not be everyones thing Even if that's just his style and is subdued on purpose, it'd probably sound better on a track where the vocals are properly mixed and mastered so they aren't 'behind' the instrumental. sways mics are probably tuned for average rap dudes who have loud delivery so it makes this guy seems kinda amateurish/lacking confidence on first listen. but no hate, like i said clearly he can write
I think... people see music differently. People seek to feel differently because of music. Personally, I like to leave a song feeling something or having something to think about. Other people may wish to dance, or to have something they relate to, or maybe just imagine they are living like the person who is performing for 3-5 minutes. Maybe they like to hear rappers I and others see as "fake" because they enjoy the things rapped about, such as money, women, or drugs. I can't truly know as I am not every person on the planet at once. But music is a powerful art form
Thank you Outkast for paving the way for artist like Raury, having a two year old son who is already filled with the passion of music, really is a great feeling knowing there are artist apart of this younger generation that understand to prosper, we must grow - as people, collectively. Instant fan. P.S I wanted to crush my computer playing that freakn' game!
A little? Dawg, this fuckin dude is so damn similar... they bof got dat southern style tho. He even said, "And that's as far as I got" like at the end of A Life in the Day of Benjamin André
i love this kids' message it really is a movement and i hope he influences all of us young people we need more people like him in the rap/trash game to bring hip hop back to its original meaning
why is future "fuck up some commas" better than "devils whisper" . . . a beat . . the words that this man puts out are phenomenal . . . wake up nd stop being blinded my main stream media. . . this is truth right here. . .this is the future of music . . no shade but he doesn't need "seasoning". . . he's just right doing what he does best which is being him and putting it on paper . . forbidden knowledge has to be my favorite song of his. . not for the beat but for the words the lyrics. . we have to wake up too many of us are sleep and have been sleep for a long time. . so much more to be said but I'd be all day
Wait... At the end of that verse, he said "that's as far as I got..." Andre 3000 has a song called "A life in the day of Andre Benjamin" and at the end of the song he says "that's as far as I got..." Nice job, Raury. I feel you
if he learns to calm down and trust his bars he will be a freestyle murderer. his songwriting is immaculate so he doesnt need freestyle time on camera but it does add character. keep working Raury
+Kelton Sanderson He's so much more than a 'rapper.' He's an ARTIST. Rapping is just a cog in his wheel. Stop with the put downs. He's the ish! Let him do his thang! He can play at least one instrument-he versatile. Much more so than the 'rappers' we hear everyday.
For Raury to be recognized as serious he needs to change his style and he needs to be confident...Confidence is really important in the music industry. I love his art and everything he has going on and I hope he gets up there.
+Roger Oliver lmao. it was the loud pack. After listening again and to other stuff I realized I played myself. But for a few barz, and the 3000 style he did o.k.
I like him. He's real and fucking true to himself, has this gentle peaceful and calm like flow. It is like back in the day. I love how weird he is too. Him messing up, just shows he's human. Him continuing, reflects strength. Big UPS.
+Roxie Spencer this dude is a poet, not a rapper...this was a disgrace to hip hop
+Pat B Floyd I understand your point. However, rappers are poets, rap is an acronym meaning Rhythm and Poetry. Everyone messes up sometimes, because we're not perfect. But in his case, right now he's better :)
+Roxie Spencer I completely agree. He has a positive, but quirky vibe to his music.
right lmao
He actually didn’t mess up , that was apart of his flow

Johann Baydeer I'm tellin you lol. Great feeling.
Shawn Lovett I think ppl recognize he has lyrics and some flow (even if its hella andre 3k), just the quiet delivery might not be everyones thing

Relativity 4 sure people only get it if theyve been through what the artist is talking about it.

Low key, Raury is one of my favourite artists. His songs are incredible u can hear his entire soul coming through his music, it's a beautiful thing.
This is the first dude I approve of sounding like someone eles cause he seem authentic with a message the game needs him
Thank you Outkast for paving the way for artist like Raury, having a two year old son who is already filled with the passion of music, really is a great feeling knowing there are artist apart of this younger generation that understand to prosper, we must grow - as people, collectively. no one can bring his vibe down. he's on top of everything. he's got skills from the gods of riddles
Definitely looking into him! Loving the vibe and flow he gives off!
Doesn't Raury remind you of Andre 3000 a little bit?
A little? Dawg, this fuckin dude is so damn similar... they bof got dat southern style tho. He even said, "And that's as far as I got" like at the end of A Life in the Day of Benjamin André
no.
This is the first thing I heard from him and this blew my mind... Dope lyrics, the future of hip hop I hope
Damn, after reading all the comments, I feel like i'm the only one who thought that shit was tight..
"That's as far as I got"
A Life In The Day Of Benjamin Andre head ass.
I love how he makes his OWN flow. It’s amazing.
This kid is like a piece of meat that as not been seasoned yet, those are not hate words, his time is not here yet . .. still needs season that's all.
SoulVibez lol smh
SoulVibez i feel the exact same way hes not finished yet but "damn hes good"
Not every rap needs words of hate tf?
+Malcolm “21pilots” Snowden he's saying he's not hating on him.
MmmOmg I know I'm just saying
if y'all actually listen to Raury music y'all would know he is almost nothing like the legend 3stacks. but y'all sheeps
Keonte' Sealey You're the only sheep bruh he said himself he's studied Outkast and purposely built his flow off of Andre's
i love this kids' message it really is a movement and i hope he influences all of us young people we need more people like him in the rap/trash game to bring hip hop back to its original meaning
Killed it !!!!!!!
this was so good i dont see how people dont like it
this nikkka just casually preached into the mic and killed it in a way i've never seen before, he is one of a kind, take it easy man and do you.
"Food for the soul" 💯💯💯 .. Real rap ppl !! Yall better open them eyes & stop dancing to them songs that's for a wk or less than month!!
why is future "fuck up some commas" better than "devils whisper" . . . a beat . . the words that this man puts out are phenomenal . . . wake up nd stop being blinded my main stream media. . . this is truth right here. . .this is the future of music . . no shade but he doesn't need "seasoning". . . he's just right doing what he does best which is being him and putting it on paper . . forbidden knowledge has to be my favorite song of his. . not for the beat but for the words the lyrics. . we have to wake up too many of us are sleep and have been sleep for a long time. . so much more to be said but I'd be all day
+Cristen Creer its very simple. People love getting lit. Future's music is lit. Raury's music isn't.
the whole point of my post. people put "getting lit" over trying to get some knowledge. reasons why we are blinded now.
+Cristen Creer i feel you nigas dumb AF with no substance and respect for people tryna do good or make a change for the world
showing ❤️to Raury...2020
0:56 i come back to hear all the harmonies in tha room. That’s how u know the vibe is good.
I love how he quoted andre on that last line, that was fresh
Yes! This guys a thinker. I like thinkers.
It's good to hear sum meaningful lyrics 👍🏾👍🏾
10 years from now this dudes gonna be everywere

His messaging lyricism and vibe are dope. But his flow and rythem is off son
He speaks the truth
Wait... At the end of that verse, he said "that's as far as I got..." Andre 3000 has a song called "A life in the day of Andre Benjamin" and at the end of the song he says "that's as far as I got..." Nice job, Raury. I feel you

Right
his style is crazy that hat looks like something 3000 would wear
Damn boy! I was mad when Andre 3G left the building, but we got that dope back with this young man. Keep at it, brother!
Sway can you try to bring Azizi Gibson on to the station for a freestyle? I think he would bring some good rhymes for you to hear and other people
Azizi is that guy man
Or quEst
he wlll be mainstream, and that's not a bad thing, he needs to spread the message, its true what he said
Sad it didn't come true
It's officially my dream to work with this brotha. He's a real artist.
Sounds poetic. I like that
The Outkast influence is palpable as is his contempt of the state of Hip Hop, I feel you bro.
gave a B.O.B. flow like from "am I physco" , he's a beast
Dude seems so chill
He tight
I like how everybody had to take a second to sing Elevators lol #classic
This made me love hip hop again #IsupportTheReal
Raury is my hero!
Shit full of content, like sway said refreshing
he went the distance ☺
The bars were crazy, but that's about it, but that's all you need in this scenario. Respect.
if he learns to calm down and trust his bars he will be a freestyle murderer. his songwriting is immaculate so he doesnt need freestyle time on camera but it does add character. keep working Raury
Combo of a young Gambino and Andre 3K. But, he's missing something...
A better rap voice his rap voice is straight up wack
His flow is off. But his lyrics are great
+Kelton Sanderson He's so much more than a 'rapper.' He's an ARTIST. Rapping is just a cog in his wheel. Stop with the put downs. He's the ish! Let him do his thang! He can play at least one instrument-he versatile. Much more so than the 'rappers' we hear everyday.

I like this homey came with a different style flow
I just checked out his SoundCloud and Indigo Child mixtape. It is really good and yes different.
For Raury to be recognized as serious he needs to change his style and he needs to be confident...Confidence is really important in the music industry. I love his art and everything he has going on and I hope he gets up there.

Talented kid
I like everything about Raury tbh there's only one thing I think that he needs to work on and that's his voice .
pause the vid at 2:32. I coudn't walk no more after that from laughing so hard.
YES! He pointed out that these so called "rappers" who just talk about guns and trappin and killin, isn't music! Nor rap!
Just watched the music video to outkast's elevators... I get why he would ask for this track. This guy's nice.
this kid is hip hop. he did this style well
+magtag181 he's garbage
+Pat B Floyd How?
+Roger Oliver lmao. it was the loud pack. After listening again and to other stuff I realized I played myself. But for a few barz, and the 3000 style he did o.k.
"And that's as far as I got" - Andre 3000
some of this have to be written because the play of words is amazing
