My dear Ghanian brothers, sisters and Africans in diaspora, let me make this simple for you all as a Nigerian and a fellow African. There was an awakening that started in the late 2000 about the world becoming a global stage for all to feature, which gave birth to the current globalization of the African music experience that we are experiencing right now in Africa and the world at large, which everyone is now scrambling for a fair share of this movement and the benefit that comes with it.
What we did as Nigerians is that we looked into our culture, our way of life and our story telling ability which is embedded in our Africanisms knowing fully that we cannot be like anyone else on the global stage of music but ourselves as Africans. So, we took advantage of our sounds and started experimenting with new tech in music fusions and WE EVOLVED and made progress with the understanding of what type of sound the world at large wants hear, listen and enjoy when it comes to African music. So, what we’ve done with the Nigerian Music is called differentiation.
This understanding is what has paved this pathway for us and it came with a lot of hard work, Sacrifice and orderly thinking that has birth new ground breaking sounds that bridge cultures on a global scale. Simple!
We are still working hard at it; we’re not going to stop but continue to make progress with new learnings, because we’ve learnt a lot along the way. So, there’s still more to do and learn from. PLEASE START YOUR JOURNEY AND STOP THE CRITICISMS. Stop feeling entitled and drowning yourselves in self-pity but look inward for every resource available to you and start refining, defining and put in the work progress awaits you on this journey. We move…

The only thing I wan add is -wtf? is this all hates about? We are just one people with different tongues and sounds- learn and collaborate instead of these nonsense hate and unhealthy criticisms. If Nigerian musicians are opening doors on the global stage, it’s all for Africans, not just for Nigerians. Wake up and let’s move like my brother had said….

I am honestly very disappointed in the fact that we are seeing the entirety of life through the narrow prism of rivalry. I understand sometimes as a Nigerian- when it comes to football, our patriotism can be coupled with unbridled inflamed ego, and I think Ghanian feel the same way, that's ok. But we should never lose fact of the fact that we are still brothers. We need our Ghanian brothers as much as they need us.
We need to stop this rivalry before it gets out hand. I have seen first hand - as a Nigerian in diaspora living in the United States for about two decades now, what our division, unnecessary rivalry, always looking for what makes you better that than your next door African can cause the entire continent. We need to come to the terms to the fact that the west has NO LOVE for us. They have always been the same people .If you guys are very familiar with African history in relation to the west, you will agree with me that we need to work together as Africans to forge a bond of unity that is based on TRUST, UNDERSTANDING, RESPECT above all-LOVE. For God's sake-let's stop this despicable spectacle of shame that we have displayed so far to rest of the world. I can assure you, it will not get us to a fruitful end.

Why is no Ghanaian admitting that 9ja artists makes better music. The quality of the sound from 9ja is more appealing to international audiences. That is the difference, forget about promotion, you can't promote wack dance hall songs or rap songs in Twi. Please Improve your sound and lyric from Ghana, make your song and sound unique. Nigerian arts are more talented, read Mathew 25 vs 15. Talent for talent, Nigerian artists are miles better if you doubt me ask other listeners in other continents.
Ghanaians, pls stop the hate, improve your crafts and collaborate. Check the gospel music genre as well, we have the top artists in Africa and the world right now. Please sing better songs and make better sound. Limit your dancehall and rap music. Be original and people will accept your sound. God bless us all.

I can deal with rap if it's in African languages. But trying to rap like an African-American is just not it. Authenticity matters a lot.

Thank you my son. You remind me of Accra where I was born. My childhood memories of korle lagoon, James town, the light house, palladium. And seeing the Lagend king Bruce in his rehearsals at Amamoo. At the age of 60+ , I see Ghanaians with good heart, from your speech that is the real GA I have missed all the years. Your analysis are on point.

Jay-Z is a bad example. Once upon a time maybe he was that much liked but not so much by Nigerians anymore. He isn’t as relevant as he used to be in the early 2000s. I’m Nigerian and haven’t liked Jay- for over 10 years.

There is a serious disconnect between Ghanaian in Ghana and Ghanaians in the diaspora and for me I think that’s is where the problem is coming from,Nigerian have their diaspora on locked .. you go to most Ghanaian parties, shops, restaurants in the uk and they still playing Ofori amponsah,Amakye Dede ,lumba etc, their kids know and enjoy these people more than the new acts but these same Ghanaian kids when it comes to Nigeria they don’t even know tuface but they know not even to talk about Davido’s etc but the ckay’s, joeboy, fireboy etc but ghana kids may have never heard of Kidi, kevinboy , worlasi and it’s sometimes cos we try to only force these three artists sark, shatta and stone in everybody’s throat as if they are the only acts in gh but we have to give ppl variety esp the diaspora cos they come into contact with different types of music so they will appreciate what we don’t like they live and friends with Jamaican so they know what they like about dancehall .. see how the diaspora appreciates asaka .. we need to connect more with the diaspora and open up more of our artist to them cos they jamming to Lumba, Ofori has nothing to do with money but their parents nostalgia to Ghana memories. Ghanaian Diaspora will open the world to our music, we have to do more with them

I love this guy! Bro, you know what's up. Those Naija boys are flying on private jets. Most of them are from a wealthy background. I am talking billionaire dollar kids. They have the money to do whatever. Just do your thing. Don't dream of being on the same level as them. Davido's father has 3 private jets, and he is free to use any of them. Your father doesn't have such wealth, and you want to be like Davido? Come on! We are living in a rich man's world. Live your life. Don't envy others.

@@dr.aniyitiyaandrewatinga9717 Honestly, I agree with you to some extent. You see as dat Naija dey so? If you begin Waka from hood to hood, you go see boys wey dey burst gbedu like sey tomorrow nor dey. I am speaking from an artist point of view. Being talented is one thing, having the resources to make big moves is another. Davido is a hard-working guy. Fact! I respect his grind, no cap 🧢. At same time moneyyyyyyyy. Cousin, i swear nuttin moves but da money 💰. How many Naija artists dey fit pull up for Icebox? Nor forget sey dat over 400K dollars wey Davido dey go empty for their counter fit open bottle and sachet water factory for some emcees o. You never see wey Yankee artist dey discharge becos OBO don enter Icebox? Which other Naija artists get dat kain werey? They are all trying to make the most of what they have now, because no one knows tomorrow. Davido had a tomorrow before he was born. He is still a better investor though! I respect your valid point. But, cousin, money 💰 good abeg.

Nigeria s been making sick videos since like 2006/2007 since the days of going to south Africa to shoot, we barely go there to shoot now. We have videographers in naija, London, America everywhere and it only gets better. Shatta no wan spend money for video hence why his video look sub par with no direction or creativity.
