Building an Enclosure for the Koi Pond Pump Due to Single Digit Temperatures in the Snow!

For the first time since moving the fish into an above ground pool there is an extended weather forecast of extremely cold temperatures. Multiple days in a row of teens during the day and single digits to below 0 at night. The pond pool has already had some heavy icing on milder days and the lines to the pump have frozen up for a couple hours in the morning twice already.
I dug out any lumber and insulation board that's been blowing around the yard for the past two years trying to build and insulate some sort of structure. I also used 3 straw bales to complete the one side of the hut. A 900 watt space heater was placed in the enclosure.
Everything performed well better than anticipated and we even began to melt the ice at the enclosure during the extremely low temperatures!
