So, me, like millions of other people, didn’t know Hogwarts Legacy was even a game that was in progress of being released. The only reason why I know about it now, and I’ve already pre-ordered it, is thanks to the angry boycott-ers telling people not to purchase it. It’s pretty funny how their efforts did the complete opposite of what they wanted.

I know a lot of people that bought it for that reason, but I bought it because I love Harry Potter regardless of what people think of JK Rowling because JK Rowling was not the one that made the video game. I don't agree with a lot of what JKR says, but I'm still a huge Harry Potter fan. Heck, I even work in the Wizarding World at Universal. I still buy the merchandise and stuff because I love the series. And for all the people saying they're gonna boycott the game: she already has her money. They had to get a licensing deal for this game. Now she makes royalties off of the sales. And boycotting a game isn't going to hurt her financially.
I also have coworkers that say that they won't buy any Harry Potter merchandise in the park, but then buy food, drinks, merchandise elsewhere. The way JKR's deal with Universal works is that she gets a percentage off of ALL sales made, not just Harry Potter specific ones. Buy a park ticket? She gets money. Buy a churro? She gets money. Buy a Spider-Man hoodie? Yep, she still gets money.
Anyway, my point is that it's still okay to enjoy things regardless of who created them. HP Lovecraft was an incredibly racist man but he is known as one of the great horror writers.

JK posted a follow up article in which she said her fear of letting anybody identify as a woman can possibly be misused and cites domestic abuse shelters as an example. She cites domestic abuse because she was a victim of domestic abuse and states that she would be terrified if she fled to a woman's shelter and her abuser found out where she was and claimed to identify as a woman to get to her.
But yeah, it's transphobic to dig into what JK Rowling said and not assume she's a terrible person.

Exactly. From what I've seen, people are saying that she is transphobic because she doesn't agree with the narrative that transgender women are biologically the same as cisgender women. That is it. Throughout their process of saying that "trans women are real women" (which, on the surface, is completely understandable--transgender women are women, just not cisgender women), they've mixed themselves up and are now convinced that women born male are--body-wise--equal to women born female. So, if anybody speaks against that narrative, they're "transphobic" and "can't accept trans women".
I mean, you can say a lot of hateful stuff and then just wrap it in "but I respect [insert victim]" for sure, but, I think that she has a valid point. Sure, someone was born a male, and they identify as female, that's cool. No sweat. But, when that person goes on to claim that their struggle is comparable to that of a woman, I kind of giggle a bit. Bro, all you need to do to gain instant privilege is... stop claiming you are a woman. It's literally that easy. Sure, there are people that go through complete surgeries, and that's a completely different ballgame.

At this point the Internet is making me transphobic. And not because of JK's tweets I don't even read. It's because of people who claim "trans gender is the same as biological gender" You can't change biology. You cannot change your body parts just like you cannot change your race. I could claim I'm a Nigerian man for all I know, but one look at me and I am a white woman. These are things you cannot change. It's also kind of funny how people think changing sex is possible, but saying you identify with different culture is wrong and racist. I mean, you cannot give birth even if you cut your dick off because you just don't have the right parts - just like you cannot change your race. It's like people taking about having a mental illness without being diagnosed (and often not having it). I tried to be open minded for various groups of people, but seeing how they behave, I am done. Call me transphobic or whatever. At least I'm not wasting my time arguing on twitter.

She has a right to think what she wants. Is it right? As far as being "transphobic" I don't think she is. So she doesn't agree with their views. This whole "homophobic," "fatphobic," etc. are not phobias. Arachnophobia (fear of spiders), acrophobia (fear of heights), claustrophobia (fear of closed spaces), agoraphobia (fear of open spaces), etc. are phobias. Not agreeing with trans people is not being "transphobic" (which my phone does not identify it as a word) it is just a difference of opinion. That simple. If I didn't agree with Sensitive on something, does that make me racist against Mexicans? No. It just means we don't agree. This is just an example, I haven't come across something we haven't agreed on. I'd still watch his videos if he and I didn't agree on one or two things. That isn’t really what phobia means though. The root word Phobos means fear/dislike, so yes, people that hate trans people are transphobic. Just like how hydrophobic molecules are scared of water, they just hate them.

Stop trying to bend words to your agenda. Oxford dictionary defines phobias as irrational fear of something. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you're afraid of them.
