No! No! No! No! Leave me alone! Every once in a while I'd have to take a beating, but by then I didn't care The way I saw it, everybody took a beating sometimes I was born your punch bag and you, you know I'll never punch you back Bite the hand that's feeding me just brings the nightmares back Destroy me, I love you every day You don't have to take the tears away Destroy me, I love you every day and I I wish you were dead Try to smile every day and now you come home to wipe my smile away All fear beaten out of me and I don't bruise anymore Destroy me, I love you every day Coming home to take the tears away Destroy me, I love you every day And I wish you were dead And you do as you're told And tell your friends you fell And you do as you're told And tell your friends you fell You fell Sometimes I want those things My skin is stinging red for every girl that likes some pain And my life is suffering for what you'll never be Destroy me, I love you every day Coming home to take the tears away Destroy me, I love you every day And I wish you were dead
@@mwl78rwe They were brilliant that night. Saw them a few times after that when they were touring their first album. They fell apart after that but what an album.
Worked their gig opening for James in Toronto. Had no idea who they were. Took all of a few minutes to want to change that. Last step they took? A stage dive into a crowd of not quite teenagers. Funny as hell. Thanks for this!
there was a well circulated tape of "live in the practice room" takes of this and other tracks from pleasure death, back in the day, a year before the second mlp came out. was real good - much less tinny than this, and real live and raw - well worth seeking out..
I'm still amazed by Fyfe Ewing's creativity.... What a drummer...
Best drummer from the island of Ireland

Destroy me, I love you every day and I
I wish you were dead

My mate's band Pig Ignorance supported them in 1990 in the Attic in Dublin. Think that's a Starbucks now.
That drumming is amazing!!
Fyfe, one of a kind.
And self taught.
His retreat into obscurity is one of drumming's saddest losses...
Fyfe also sings the verses on this number!
First band I saw live. Cork city hall 1994 with Kerbdog. Amazing stuff. Still love them at the mature age of thirty something!
saw that tour in Galway, with Whipping Boy, Joyrider, Kerbdog and Therapy, feckin awesome!
