I've already seen about twenty reactions, including yours, and yet GFRIEND always sounds excellent and their music is captivating. I think we will never be able to live without them, the girls are magnificent and their discography is IMMACULATE. Greetings.
i think the biggest reason for the difference between gfriend umji and viviz umji is that she was 16 when she debuted in gfriend, and for the first couple of years after her debut she had to endure a ton of hate over her appearance. her confidence was so low she would literally look down and hide her face behind her hair during performances. it took a really long time for her to become confident again and i'm so glad she is. she is a great performer and she's had to overcome so much. also yes, fingertip was very different from their discography up until that point. i remember so many people did not like fingertip because it wasn't the typical gfriend sound, and after that they pivoted back to their original sound for the next few years. i'm so glad that so many people are now discovering them through this killing voice. they are one of my ult groups and it broke my heart when hybe disbanded them. their discography is incredible and really takes you through a "season of memories"
9:53 you mentioned 'Red Sun!' which is made by the same composer who did Crossroads :D Noh Juhwan is one of Gfriend's best producers, his works are Crossroads, Red Sun!, Time for the moon night, Sunrise, and quite a lof of Gfriend's b-sides. I really love his orchestral pop/passionate melancholy songs
Gfriend signature sounds and vocals are so good and fun to listen to. With the orchestral lines, their songs really do fit certain seasons and brought upon the feeling of nostalgia. If you read the lyrics of Summer Rain. Damn, you would know how bittersweet that song is. They are definitely one of the few groups that I personally think haven't missed with each title tracks. Not to mention their japanese releases and B-sides are so good too. Would love to watch you discover their discography since they are making a comeback afterall in January and you know what the album title is? Season of memories. Yup. They really know their stuff. So good and cant wait😆😍
GFRIEND for a very long times has been my number one group ( they dropped as my number two this year in 2024, but still so precious to my heart) and i follow them since the 'Me Gusta Tu' era so since GFRIEND first comeback, so i follow them since a very long time and that Killing Voice was way long overdue, also GFRIEND coming back is something very special to me. You must understand and know now that this group is a LEGENDARY group in K-pop, all members are like very VERY talented and amazing vocalists and dancers and no other groups will ever be special and unique like GFRIEND was, in so many way. Also, what make GFRIEND so special too is the bonds the members have with each others, they are not just a girl group, they are a true family and they love each others like sisters. So imagine how happy they must be to be together like that again, that is why you see them so happy here. I'm hoping that you will take the time to explore more that LEGENDARY group not just musically but GFRIEND variety side too (they have a LOT of variety contents too to explore). I promise you a fun and amazing ride with those wonderful young ladies.

Like they did 2 variety shows where they travelled in some nice places in Europe and exploring there. Just explore GFRIEND channel variety shows and have fun exploring.

If you want to have a lot of fun and also learn more about their personalities there are two excellent guides to them. They are a Subpar Guide to GFriend and a Guide to GFriend 2020. There are variety clips and vocal highlights liberally sprinkled everywhere in them. If you want to watch early GFriend variety shows there are some gems. Search for a playlist called GFriend Variety Shows in Order. I really like GFriend Loves Europe and GFriend Where RU Going? in Jeju. You will see their close relationships and hilarious mess when just being themselves and not idols on stage. One Fine Day is another great series but isn’t on that playlist.
A couple things. I believe Yerin is the smiley one with the rose-colored hair? Also, yes, i agree that Fingertip sounds different than most of their songs. To me it sounds like a KARA song lol. Anyway, this is such a nostalgic Killing Voice for most everyone who listens to kpop. I love it! ❤

I have subscribed today as I feel that you will love doing a deep dive on them. If you watch their music videos I highly recommend that you watch the corresponding dance practice in the same reaction. They are so satisfying to watch as their Synchronisation is flawless and they create such beautiful imagery with their dancing. Their timing is based on their absolute trust that everyone else will hit the perfect spot at the perfect time even if blindfolded. They proved that by doing a Mago dance practice blindfolded! Also Umji and Eunha danced Apple blindfolded on Killing Brothers which went viral it was so amazing.

They have great variety shows. I recommend GFriend Loves Europe, Where RUGoing? In Jeju, and some Memoria episodes such as Buddy High School and Home Together. You can find them all in a playlist called GFriend Reality Shows in Order. Without fail they are very funny and so enjoyable to watch.
also i believe fingertip wasn’t really well received when it was released? bc it was released after navillera and was a hugely different concept from their previous songs (glass bead, me gustas tu, rough, and navillera). so maybe you haven’t heard much about it because of that , which is a shame because it’s my favorite song by them! they released love whisper after it which was very well received so tehy continued with that concept (flowery)

Every self-respecting Buddy knows ALL of these songs. It seemed like you didn't listen to the B-sides of GFRIEND's IMMACULATE discography even out of curiosity. You are missing 90% of the beauty of their melodies and voices... I tried to make a play list but it is impossible, because there are almost no bad or disposable songs in their production. So I have almost ALL of their discography in my favorites list. It's better to check things in order because Gfriend has Lore.. 1st trilogy: Glass bead, Me gustas tu, Rough. 2nd trilogy: Summer rain, Time for the moon night, Sunrise 3rd trilogy: Crossroads, Apple, Mago Other songs: Navillera, Fingertip, Love whisper, Fever.
