Katrineholm is the 52th largest city in Sweden with a population of 24 483 inhabitants (2020) while the municipality has 34 506 inhabitants (2023).
Katrineholm is also the third largest city after Eskilstuna and Nyköping, in the county of Södermanland.
Several multinational corporations, including Ericsson and Scania, contributed to the economy of Katrineholm's once-vibrant industrial sector. However, in the 1990s, some of these firms cut their Katrineholm workforces. Due to the quick and comfortable train connections between Katrineholm and other large cities, many locals now commute to work elsewhere, mainly in Stockholm.

i live in Katrineholm and there is not much to do here. barely any good stores or anything really. i wish we had more fun things to do.
