ZBrush 2019 is here and with it a host of new features to check out. I'm Follygon and in this video we'll be taking a look at the new ZColor Plugin added to ZBrush 2019.
The ZColor plugin gives us the ability to create color swatches and have more control over our colors in general. This is something that I've wanted for a while, because the old tools for working with colors haven't been that robust. So this is definitely a welcome update. The ZColor plugin (included in all ZBrush 2019 installations) is your new color manager for any digital painting tasks. It features a set palette of colors, chosen to best express the mood you wish to create and allowing for consistent results. I hope eventually they nest the menus within Zbrush itself so I can make my own custom tool palette but still this is such a nice addition!

What I don't get though, is why the color does not stay synchronized with the selected color in the defualt picker when I pick a color... ? o_0 This makes it pretty much pointless other than for hard selecting colors from the wheel in the zcolor window only....
Unfortunately, set color does not update my color, it does actually nothing. I tried even in a new project, the tool does not work for me for what ever reason.
What material are you using? it takes color so well and I struggle with retaining vibrancy and depth with the default materials.
Zcolor doesn't seem to be working
I 'set the color' and the color does not change in the main window. In fact, a separate file opens up for some reason
I had the same issue of colors not set after clicking on "Set Color" in Zbrush 2024.0.1. Just updated to 2024.0.2 and the issue is gone :)
