      You watched it already, my God I just loaded it up. I’m glad that you liked it two weeks ago I finished the remaining huscarls I had. I know I didn’t paint them probably historically accurate but I really liked having maybe a standardized unit representing either an earl‘s bodyguard or some elite force. Yeah the army is really beautiful and looks good. I wish somebody would make figures that put together like a shield wall but they don’t. I’m going to be putting up my Viking I mean this week as well.

    On this day, September 28, William of Normandy landed with his invasion force in Southern England. Only 3 days earlier King Harold had defeated a Norse army at Stamford Bridge, killing his rival Hardrada and his own brother Tostig. Although he wouldn’t learn the bad news for several days, the English king would undoubtedly be organising his return south. He, his brothers, Leofwine and Gyrth have 16 days to live.
    This may sound silly, but in answer to the question - “If you could go back in time, who in history would you like to meet?”, for me it would be Harold Godwinson. What did he look like, this soldier, General and statesman? A real man and all-rounder whose like we never see today.

      I tried to do him justice in my miniature but not sure if I did. Amazing person indeed. Stamford bridge was my favorite battle.

      It is beautiful. I felt like doing something British in honor of your queen. It’s probably not the best choice but it was what I had. I always appreciate your kind support and nice words. Makes me always proud.

      Usually my army‘s Michael are between six and 1000 figures. I’ll do a quick count for you just so you know but generally that is the rule, I believe each line in the video is around 200 figures and there’s four lines so it’s probably around 850 to 950

    Maybe you can help me. I want to recreate a viking saxon battle. Ive never done anything like this before and it seems really overwheling. I was thinking of using a 4x6 board and creating a battlefield. How do i know what size figures to use and do they all come with the platforms beneath their feet? I want it for a decortive piece in my living room. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    • @thekrausecollection15mmmin53
      @thekrausecollection15mmmin53  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, this is a very complexing question. Well not complex but difficult to answer. This is I’m guessing a diorama. I am not thinking that you are wanting to play a recreation or a game, but more have a battle that is displayed in my right or wrong. Will you be painting these figures or have them painted and the other question I have is what size of figures do you want to have? There are many different sizes from let’s say 6 mm all the way up to 1/7 second scale each one brings with it, a different look feel and work. When you buy the miniatures, they stand up easily on the table, but it is best if they mounted on some type of base either out of wood, plastic, or metal. I use MDF wood. Let’s continue this dialogue and figure out what it is that you’re wanting to do. Tell me first however why? This will help determine what I can do to help you or at least give you suggestions.

      @thekrausecollection15mmmin53 Thank you for replying! Yes a diorama! I couldn't think of the name of it, thank you for that. I love history, especially military misfortune. I was a Marine and when I thought about doing this I wanted to make a diorama of the area I was at in Fallujah. I'm really into the viking Era though and decoded I would like to do a famous viking battle. Since I have never done this before I wanted to start easy with the battle of Edington between the vikings and saxons. My dilemma is that I've never done anything like this before so idk what sizes to use to accurately depict the scene according to the board I want to use. I was thinking of using a 4x6 board and I would use a lot of things from outside to help build foliage and roads, rivers, ect. I want to get unpainted figurines and paint them myself but I want to either pin or glue everything down to make it look as natural as possible without the stands. From my understanding 10 and 15mm will give more of a mass effect as compared to 28mm but all the videos I've seen I can't get a really good view of what the entire board looks like with those pieces on it to determine what I want to do. It will just be a decorative piece in my living room so I want to be able to see it nicely without putting my face all the way to the glass but I also don't want it too big to where it doesn't accurately depict the amount of troops that were there. If I'm successful building this I will probably choose other battles throughout time and do more as a hobby.

      @@ChefMac1025 well, my dear friend. Let me look up the battle first and do a little bit of digging. Let me see how many soldiers were actually at the battle and then we can determine that from from there I will write you back in a few hours or later today and give you my opinion.
