This ghost town hike is about 1.5 hours from Seattle. Although WTA lists it as 8 miles, it is actually a 10-mile round trip. The hike is ideal for a flat, rainy-day adventure near Seattle and offers an authentic ghost town experience. Along the way, you'll encounter scenic views, rivers, and a lush fern forest. The trail is mostly flat and provides the pleasant sound of a nearby river.
At around 1.5 miles in, you'll need to cross the river. The recommended crossing point is right after the privy, where you'll spot an iron cable tied around a stump. Alternatively, you can cross shortly after on a large but slick rock. Once across, you'll see an old bridge, and the trail continues from there.
There is no snow on the trail, but you may need to navigate a few blowdowns. Bugs are minimal this time of year.

How did you get down there? My friends and I tried to go yesterday but it got a bit dark so we couldn’t see much. Do you park at the Barlow pass trailhead and go down that way? We weren’t quite sure how to get to the trail. It’d be a lot of help because we plan on go in g back next weekend!

Heya Caiti, Yup! We parked at Barlow pass and followed the trail. You can cross the river where we did (just after the privy on the trail) or shortly after on the big log (but its a little slick).
