    A good way to save your lighter fluid and also keep your fingers from hurting is to save all of the burning for last, light a candle, and do it like that.

    • @verneshial684

      Good suggestion i will try using the candle wax to seal it

      No she meant the candle is already lit so to use the flame. Not the candle wax

    Hey absolutely love this! So much easier than I expected and seems much kinder to your hair too.
    Just two questions (sorry if you've already answered).
    1. If I wanted to do a slimmer love would I just use less strands, e.g. 3x3 as opposed to 4x4?
    2. To do the initial braid do you just put the loop by the root and braid down?
    Thank you! x

    • @chemarch
      @chemarch  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ChiB Hi thank you for watching my video! To answer your questions...
      1. Yes, for a thinner loc use less yarn. I am actually in the process of making mine thinner by doing them 3x3 instead of 4x4
      2. Yes, to start the initial braid you loop at the root and continue to braid down

    I hope you get this ☺ My question is- Are they Heavy? I know it's yarn but I have a big head and a lot of hair density. That normal braiding hair is typically to heavy. I typically have tried to do "bigger" parts, less fake hair to try to balance out so my neck doesn't end up hurting. (If that makes sense)

    Hey Chelsea! i have a quick question My name is Jawzlyn, I go to an Environmental Charter School, which is basically an environmental friendly project based school. I am doing a project on The history of Dreads, and I am also doing a social experiment were I am going to make faux locs in my hair and see how people react/treat me. So anyways, to my point, with every project we do. we need a live resource. i was just wondering if we could have a conversation on this subject, and I could take notes on it, and put you down as my live resource. :)

      Yeah that should work depending on how thick you are making them. If you are making them very thin, you will need more

    I want mine a little bit thicker and about shoulder length. Does anyone know many strands of yarn I would need? Just as an estimate? And how many rolls of yarn would I need?

    • @chemarch
      @chemarch  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try doing it 7 by 7 instead of 4 by 4. You will probably about three roles of yarn!

    It's easier if you cut it all at once before you start, by wrapping it around a piece of furniture !

    • @lanasiamcmillan8940
      @lanasiamcmillan8940 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That way you get to measure it all out to the same length prior to and you don't waste any yarn

    • @chemarch
      @chemarch  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +InnA AnnI Yes you can do this! I put my locs in to a lose ponytail, then hold out the ponytail, away from the water, scrub my scalp and then let the water wash that off.

    Is there no other way to seal the ends apart from burning??

    • @chemarch
      @chemarch  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Burning lasts the longest but I am sure you could just tie them? Not sure how long it would last though without unraveling?
