hit the nail on the head...we never battled in the circles when house music scene in NYC was at its apex during late 80's early 90's, especially early 90's. The music was the master, we were FELLOW slaves to the rythym...Ejoe gave these young kids a glimpse of an era long gone..
If you really think about it, everyone does the same thing they always do; our muscle memory and personal style are two things that will always show up naturally in our dance. Personally, I think Ejoe is a much cleaner dancer and possesses a much more refined style. He is also always on the music. That's not to say Yugson isn't dope in his own way - just don't be fooled by "fresh moves" - there's so much more to the dance than just that.
Either Ejoe was high by music or by other means, he had fun and this is what I miss. Just to do it for exhibition and for the people to enjoy is reward enough for me. I really miss this.
Both dancers are unique & amazing in their own right! Two different styles and movements, with there own feel and musicality. You have to see there gift and story to the music. Now, if one wants to break down the dance elements in which each dancer brings to the dance floor, that's another discussion.
Yugson seemed to interrupt Ejoe's game a few times... but no one is as PRESENT as Ejoe ever!!!! that is what makes him so special! As shown in this video, one has to do 3 moves to every 1 move of Ejoe's in order to win because Ejoe in always more present. yes or no?
Love my House Heads, I remember when I use to Loft which is now called House Dance back in the daz of the Fun House, 1018, The Garage and all the other clubs in NYC. Miss those daz but still have the Lofting in me LOL
Ejoe is still the legend that everyone wishes to be when it comes to this so he danced and had fun unbothered and loved! Yugson went in and took that but there will never be a competition between the two. Respect to both!
i dont think who can knows "house dance" and "battle" more then a house dance master from NEW YORK.....dont think you know much, learn it! much respect to ejoe!
LMFAO! I swear, every time I watch ejoe battle. He always seems to look high or maybe he is high but you gotta love ejoe. He makes it exciting. Hahahah...
Ejoe falls in love with his spinning. Too much spinning and ground dancing. His footwork is slow but so sweet and smooth which makes it very unique. Too many house dancers think about quick big steps and Ejoe does the exact opposite. When he kicks up the speed, he is downright nasty like at 9:35. I've seen Ejoe do better than this video though.
I feel like the difference between these two dancers is the same as a rehearsed piano solo vs an improvised piano solo. I prefer the ladder. So Ejoe takes the win :)
yes indeed ... I tell you this ..Mamson is the smoothest dancer.. I TRY to Emulate his style .. and Ejoe is a beast most expressive . at times he almost gets lost in the music ... that should have been the battle tho ....Ejoe would have pulled the best out of Mamson and vice versa!!
Can u say smooooth, relaxed and liquid. The elements of house flow. Why the heck was Ejoe battling. Was this necessary. he dont need to battle. Hes a master. Was this for fun or something? Or for other peoples Ego's.
i love the song at the end before the last round whats the name? as for the battle ejoe hands down clearly won on point on beat feels the music the music feels him. the other guy is trying to do what ejoe has already put out on the streets when people come up with there own style instead of ejoes then we can judge until then it is what it is ejoe wins this and the other dude knew it.
I've seen all the moves Mamson made in the prefinals on this event in previous videos with him. I think the difference here is that there are a lot more videos of Ejoe so im not buying that argument. I'm not saying one is better than the other cause im happy to look at both dance but your argument is flawed.
They both won this is a beautiful exchange like the dude say we don't a fuck about the money anything we don't care who won this shit it was a beautiful exchange and I'm sure that's what people truly remembered one love
@7thvenom Since house dance originated in the US (NYC, Chicago) it is natural and obvious that the pioneers are American. Legends like Ejoe, Brooklyn Terry and Caleaf. But it is ignorant and narrow minded to discredit all Parisien house dancers. Obviously they have a different style, it would be boring if it weren't so. But they are still great! Mamson, Babson, Kapela and you already mentioned Serge just to name a few. Watch the Juste Debout House final 2012.
These guys are great! They make the dance look effortless....and it is one of the most difficult dances to do!...don't like the host cos the way he speaks to the crowd is rude!!!
Beast not Best ...I said Ejoe is a beast .. most expressive. or my other comment said they (Mamson and Ejoe) would pull the best from each other if that was the final.
Yeah well you should have seen him at 18 or 21... You learn when to step on the pedal and red-line.... This was not it for him..... Trust I know!!!!!!! Do Not sleep......
i truly respect and understand ejoe. but sometimes i wish he would step out of the feel it zone and explode into the music. like some of the faster dances.
why don't you say Michael Jackson, James Brown, Gene Kelly, etc shouldn't deserve their title for kept doing the same moves? It's obvious you know NOTHING about this art. You think Ejoe's moves are the same it's because that's his noticeable peronality and the way he feels the music. If viewing from your narrow perspective I would say even Hiro or Mamson were doing the same moves, but I won't. Cuz that's how they feel the music and what make them so different from others.
hahahha He always smoke weed and he's high on that battle. That thing is there are more moves but in this battle he hasn't really show it, show it, cuz hes high.lols..
Ejoe is far behind Yugson, technically Ejoe does always the same things. Even if it's fit with the music, the technical skills and musicality of Yugson are definitely beyond!
I totally disagree - dancers all work the rhythms differently, and just because he Yugson was sometimes working *around* the one, doesn't mean he wasn't rockin'. Just jump to 7:56 and tell me he's not on the beat, and groovin. C'mon man, no need to diss, and make this about winners and losers, everyone's style is different, and entertaining. I think they're BOTH fuckin sick :) Peace.
10 years
1st track is : Danny Howells - Psychoticbump (Andreas Saag Deep Mix) ;)

Completely agree with you there Jardy!
Either Ejoe was high by music or by other means, he had fun and this is what I miss. Just to do it for exhibition and for the people to enjoy is reward enough for me. I really miss this.
beautiful styles, i love it. Good job to the both of them. House forever!!!
all songs are Crazy
Super crisp video and Ejoe was a blast to watch as always

Now, if one wants to break down the dance elements in which each dancer brings to the dance floor, that's another discussion.
ejoe hands down. dance on beat feels the music. dancing fast does not make you a great dancer people. feeling and movement does. carry on.
Yugson seemed to interrupt Ejoe's game a few times... but no one is as PRESENT as Ejoe ever!!!! that is what makes him so special! As shown in this video, one has to do 3 moves to every 1 move of Ejoe's in order to win because Ejoe in always more present. yes or no?
Drunken Master routine never fails.
awesome wish i went to events like these
the tracks for this battle is sweet, I am just jamming
Love my House Heads, I remember when I use to Loft which is now called House Dance back in the daz of the Fun House, 1018, The Garage and all the other clubs in NYC. Miss those daz but still have the Lofting in me LOL

Ejoe is still the legend that everyone wishes to be when it comes to this so he danced and had fun unbothered and loved! Yugson went in and took that but there will never be a competition between the two. Respect to both!
Ejoe is just so freakin' relaxed with his dancing...and Yugson just couldn't keep himself out of his groove. Both guys were quite entertaining!
I am fucking feeling this.

Ejoe has an awesome flow! Would have loved to see him and Mamson battle.
i dont think who can knows "house dance" and "battle" more then a house dance master from NEW YORK.....dont think you know much, learn it! much respect to ejoe!
EARTH FELT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ejoe has always been King when it comes to laid back house :)
11 turns at 3:41 in case you were wondering.
LMFAO! I swear, every time I watch ejoe battle. He always seems to look high or maybe he is high but you gotta love ejoe. He makes it exciting. Hahahah...
I love Ejoe he dances smooth and tired..But he's good! : D
Bflo23 maybe the years are allowing him down.
Yugson: Technical, diverse and more entertaining.(I mean it was a competition) Period. Ejoe: Smooth and to the beat, I'll take the first every time...
Ejoe rules. Period. He is an artist. The other one is just a Joe dancer like so many...
I'M RIDING WITH YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EJOE IS THE SHIT SON!!!!!!!!!! Transitions are SO smooth!
@MrQuestRob I LOVE U!!!!
Two songs
Psychoticbump - anny Howells
Creampie - Hector Couto
I'd like to see Ejoe vs Shan S.
Can u say smooooth, relaxed and liquid. The elements of house flow. Why the heck was Ejoe battling. Was this necessary. he dont need to battle. Hes a master. Was this for fun or something? Or for other peoples Ego's.

I've seen all the moves Mamson made in the prefinals on this event in previous videos with him. I think the difference here is that there are a lot more videos of Ejoe so im not buying that argument. I'm not saying one is better than the other cause im happy to look at both dance but your argument is flawed.

Yugson won by far. Ejoe was redondant... Not the same level on this battle
They both won this is a beautiful exchange like the dude say we don't a fuck about the money anything we don't care who won this shit it was a beautiful exchange and I'm sure that's what people truly remembered one love
It's not called being dramatic, it's called "Feeling it"
Ejoe is just warming up lol.
Yugson Advanced alot in his house dancing
what is the name of the track @ the 4:50 mark, anyone please !!
The Choice by Chez Damier & Ron Trent
That was as Close to aTie, that it was actually a Tie...
@7thvenom Since house dance originated in the US (NYC, Chicago) it is natural and obvious that the pioneers are American. Legends like Ejoe, Brooklyn Terry and Caleaf. Ejoe won hands down.
These guys are great! They make the dance look effortless....and it is one of the most difficult dances to do!...don't like the host cos the way he speaks to the crowd is rude!!!
He once said that he smokes a lot of weed lol
I feel this battle was unnecessary E-Joe is legendary in the house community with a proven track record. THIS WAS A WASTE OF HIS TIME!
fast Doesn't mean that you are good. It's the how you execute the moves.
english isn't his first language. i think he did pretty well in his writing
and Ejoe need to stop being toodramatic and do some technical moves!!
Beast not Best ...I said Ejoe is a beast .. most expressive. or my other comment said they (Mamson and Ejoe) would pull the best from each other if that was the final.

so how i can dance in a music ....... teach me lol
mamson, would have did the damn thing
seeing Mamson in agony of wanting to battle Ejoe. Yugson is wack with no technical difficulty moves. what a waiste of time!!
ejoe has lost it's fire cuz he keeps doing the same moves in all videos! Mamson is the shit!!
yugs style is dirtier. he got it
hahahha He always smoke weed and he's high on that battle. That thing is there are more moves but in this battle he hasn't really show it, show it, cuz hes high.lols..

I don't see how Yugson won that. Ejoe had much better feel
