I loveeee Red Rising but I see where you're coming from about 'realistic' 'sciencey' scifi (Project Hail Mary is a banger). Red Rising is definitely more battle-scene heavy but I love both nonetheless! I hope you're able to get back into it and enjoy it! Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
I'm currently reading "She Would be King by Wayétu Moore and can almost guarantee it will ne my best book of the month, so far its like the best of Octavia E Butler and Toni Morron combined! Sci-fi doesn't need to take place in space. Fun fact Frankenstein is considered to be the first sci-fi book, so the genre was created by a woman. Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro is one of my fav non space sci-fi books its very emotional so I call it cry-fi lol.
Cry-fi! 😆 I love that! I read Frankenstein a few years back and enjoyed it. That’s so cool she was the start of it all. She would be king sounds cool with their gifts but also one that talks about important topics. I need to add Octavia to my shelves!
It's okay that you are still in the middle of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix. I am still in the middle of Leviathan Wakes which is as thick as Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, if not thicker. By the way, how are you finding Professor Umbridge?
Umbridge is the worst. Idk how she got away with treating the children the way she did. disgusting. I finally finished HP5 last night. How's your read going?
Can’t wait to hear what you think of The Color Purple. I recommend either immersion reading or audiobook. I loved it 🥰
@@KristinLeighsCorner I’m ready for it to change my life!
