How about those two try and get all buddy buddy and close with someone only for that person to up and die either infront of them or hear of their death when you had to be saved by them. I get it, they all have sad angsty backstories but like, neither of them (Sanemi and Iguro) had to witness the murder of an older sister protecting them, hear the news that their best friend died saving them, and then blaming themselves for the cause of those deaths, possibly wishing it was them instead of their close ones, and beating conflicted between wanting to get close to people so they’re not lonely or keeping their distance so they won’t get too attached and be hurt again when their new buddy dies and they survive. The way Giyuu acts is sort of a common thing in real life. Plenty of people have felt the need to distance themselves to prevent attachment…causes them less pain and issues they don’t wish to deal with cuz they don’t believe they’ll have the strength to go on afterwards.. (just simply stating, not tryna argue- -w-)
