We are now covering tying with deer hair. On this video I will show you how to use bucktail, one of three different hairs that is used from the whitetail deer to tie jigs and flies.
Dont take it to hard man. Tiktok is more for the younger generation. They really don't use TH-cam. But for the people that actually want to learn this is where theyll be. I found you on Tiktok and then came here for the longer videos. I love them!
Thank you. Appreciate the advise. I believe my problem was that I was trying to add to much hair at one time on one side and then rolling the hair around hook shank. I was also trying to tie it on a no collar jig and when I pulled my thread tight it flared the buck-tail out and looked kinda stupid. I got so frustrated that I almost quit using buck-tail at all. That’s after I had already ordered 5-6 tails. Not cheap either.
Try using the hair closer to the bottom of the tail. The top of the tails hair will flare out more. Also after the hair flares you can put a few lose wraps over the flared hair to pull it back close to the hook.
Watching your videos is a great way to unwind. Thanks for sharing
