"I was only passing through the studio one Sunday and I was dropping off a friend of mine and I went in and I saw Sly and Robbie working and I said, “I have this little thing here”. I find a vibe offa it and I start singing. We just went straight in and recorded it - one take" ~ Dennis Brown
Mann! this reminds me of Washington DC Georgia Avenue a club called Carrib, back then everybody just danced and enjoyed each other, the music was so nice and clean, guys would come over to your table ask if you want to dance and dance, ohhhh how I miss those days when gentlemen were gentlemen and women were women, no fuss, no fighting just pure clean dancing and nice music everybody just swaying together and enjoying themselves. ...........................................................................
Wha yuh ah sey Dennis mi baby? Mi deyah... inna di struggle still, hail up God fi mi nuh, tell im sey mi ready...wait deh, yuh afi tell mi father sey I&I sen xamount of love...after all a daddy did ah play yuh all day inna di house, dat is how comes di I love you much.
Giving your heart ❤ and soul to vanity ..Comes with pain and misery .. While live goes on every one gots to stand 💪 strong .... ..A suh Dennis Brown say.. its a Jamaica 🇯🇲 😩 thing. Respect 🇯🇲 🙌.
Dennis Brown is pure Power and Strength. Protect this music at ALL cost. The Devil can’t be near when Dennis is at controls. It shatters the unbelievers causing them confusion and great sorrow.
In my opinion, there is a big difference between the two artists. Bob took reggae Internationally, fighting systemic justice and LOVE ❤️ for all. Not that Dennis didn't sing about love and other factors. Besides, Bob started way before Dennis did. My thing is, they are both great entertainers in their own right. If I had to choose this. If I had to choose it would definitely 💯 Bob❤. And I had the pleasure of knowing both of them. Dennis came to my house when I lived in NY years and years ago before he passed. And for Bob at hope Rd. In Kingston! 🤗 please 🙏🏿 just remember their contribution and not who's better than who. One Love ❤️ ❤😂🙏🏿
bro this was my childhood song my uncle used to have the CD and had this and some other songs like one love jam down and he’d give those CDs to my dad and he play these songs with my sister we loved them all and I’ve been looking for this song since I found the other ones and I’m so happy cause I loved this song !!😂❤
Bob Marley was the greatest reggae artist, no doubt! But this D Brown single has got to be the best reggae song ever. No wonder D Brown was Bob's number 1. Legendary song.

Lembrei dos meus tempos de criança quando meu irmão mais velho reunia os amigos na casa de minha mãe ouvindo reggae no LP . Cresci ouvindo isso......👏👏👏👏
That's idoocy. I met Bob, welcomed him to Wisconsin, with a legislative (Babylon, talking about Rastafari!? yes , I. I have the photo of us, 1978.) Resolution In 1982, I spent most of a night with Dennis at Jack Rubys house and studio, Jack produced the iconic Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear there. Dennis showed me his soul that night, and was very kind to me. He liked that I taught the Jamaican children in a high school there, after having been a state senator in the US. It is no disrespect to the great man Dennis Brown, and I am sure he would agree, Bob Marlev was in a class by himself. After him, Dennislwas the best, . Crown🎉 prince of reggatle they calked him Because Bob was king. Dennis wore tge title proudly. Bob was mystical, maybe a prophet. Sorry. THhe only prescription for you is lusten to lots of Bob Marley songs, you obviously havent yet.
Saved up my saturday job salary and bought this tune in holloway road when the record shop was there. wicked tune.
Amen
I would’ve done the same
Wow...memories ✨️🥂✨️🥂
