You were in actually correct in what you said, the aim of the masks have always been to separate the fans from the people underneath the masks. The band have always wanted people to focus on the music rather than the people under the masks. Their identities have been uncovered over the years as new members have come in to the fray. It didnt take us long to identify the original lineup. The fact we know who thry are was only because of fans curiosity and super skills in being detectives 😂

Dear, you just need to dig a little deeper into the mask significance and member "rotation" and you'll understand why the "skin" mask exists. Masks evolve with every new album, and when a new member enters the band, they really dont have an identity, which is why they are given a "generic" mask, or a variation of the one they are replacing (tortilla man).
Shame they stabbed there drummer in the back & fired him in a text message he has seven on his arm because he is the seventh member of the band when they first started
I don't know all the details (does anyone outside of the band?) - but I heard he pulled a simple stunt himself by quitting his previous band (for Slipknot) via Twitter and one of his former bandmates was roasting him about it.
