This is India dude. Playing holi on streets is not safe. Strangers always try to take advantage of foreign woman. They will touch inappropriately and also hugging to woman is not common here. It is always recommendable for foreigners to play holi in private party only. Lot of foreigners on youtube because of ignorance complaining about bad touch on holi.

I think it's ignorant to say that Indians will just abuse women and to deal with it. We had a great time and stating the fact that young boys attacked my wife on the streets in not complaing. Also expecting Indians to act with some self respect and treat women with respect is not ignorance. Hopefully one day Indian boys decide to grow up and act like respectable adults. Or are you saying that abusing women and disrespecting them is just part of Indian culture and upbringing and that it should be accepted?

Sorry i didn't watched the full video because i am in office. Watched only few parts with volume down. Man i never said its just part of Indian culture and upbringing and that it should be accepted. In indian culture guest is god for us and there are Good men too in INDIA.The reputation of Indian men have been spoiled by some morons who see HOLI as a chance to harass women. Forget about foreigners, even we are(Indians) mostly avoid such chaotic places especially during holi. On holi you will see only few woman on street because most mans are drunken and consumed bhaang(weed). so woman mostly avoid to celebrate holi in crowds/streets and also because of huge population stampede is too common in this places. So we too are mostly playing holi in society, party and events. Don't mind but why i use ignorant word because if you search holi tips in India you will find lot of articles and TH-cam video about this issue. But In urban areas like Mumbai, bangluru its safe to play holi on streets for woman. Another problem in India In smaller cities, where not many foreigners are travel and when locals see them, they are very excited and hence they take selfies and in this process they sometimes makes them uncomfortable. Holi is most beautiful and colorful festival of world. here are many ways in which Holi is celebrated. Nowadays it is mostly private parties where only a certain amount of people are invited, and they sing, dance, throw colors on each other and enjoy among themselves.
I am just concerned with the safety of you guys. Hence you are advised to be careful. India is still not a developed country so it will be good to take some precautions.

No worries we are on the same page. If you are able to finish the video you'll see that we had an amazing time! We had just the one incident of her getting attacked and we're putting it out there as not to bash on India but to make other travelers who might come across this video aware of the dangers and what can happen. We were well aware that it was a risk which is why as soon as it happened we just left the festivities and went back to our room. It was a really amazing experience to be apart of the local celebration but we can see how your advice for most foreigners to have a private party is warranted but it was our dream to experience holi in the way that the locals do.
