I don't know if the point is to make Vox look like poor struggling underdogs to make their later successes seem more meaningful(?) but I really don't like how it changes the tone of the setting itself, it becomes a crueller world on the whole where no one will help. The sphinx didn't attack them, emotionally or otherwise. The temples understandably said they needed to focus on building the defence of their city *first* in case it was the dragons next target, but they would help out how they could (Kima is a warrior of the Platinum Sanctuary). Zahra and Kashaw were actually friends with the group. Groon was about the same with his challenge but the fight went differently because real Grog isn't so dense and knew the answer about his strenght already.

At my original viewing of this scene, the "callout" for scanlan made be giggle, but after thinking about it and seeing other takes and the qna on the first 3 episodes, its amazing how the execution of a scene that felt like it was originally played for laughs was actually a genius way to begin some amazing scanlan characters development, and of course the party's bard would have their biggest insecurity as being dismissed or deemed not worth anyones time

"why would I listen to the cursed heir, who wallows in self pity begging to be trusted again."
Hmm, I'm really wondering if this is foreshadowing to season 3 because Percy doesn't get a break at all in season 2, in fact they keep piling the failure/guilt up and then some while the rest of the group seem to have faced their fears.
Vax isn't tethered to his sister anymore now he has a purpose
Vex doesn't care about her dad anymore
Pike seems to come around (wasn't this fixed in the first season ? )
Scanlan stops running from his issues, and wants to make up for it
Grog gets what makes him 'him' and comes out of it stronger than ever
Percy .... tries to throw his title around and fails, does a thing in the tomb he'll probably never forgive himself for, tries to be a guide in the fey realm with mixed results to great annoyance of Vax, and gets to make a trap that fails.
I'm very curious towards season 3.
Edit: Got trough the whole campaign, its quite different but I understand where they are going, and can't wait to see it animated!

A year late but I completely agree with how it seems everyone manages to overcome or start to overcome what Osysa told them.... except for Percy. Her calling him cursed immediately tells him he's cursed which I reckon will be what gets him to write the letter from the campaign instead of him going to the raven queen. And then "Wallowing in self pity begging to be trusted again." once again your right. He screws up constantly this season which causes Vax to lose trust in him, but also letting Percy know that he is in a way cursed because he keeps on fucking up. Also at the end of episode 2 when he finds out about Ripley, he doesn't tell anyone further proving Osysa's point. He wants to be trusted but at the same time does things that make it more difficult to trust him.
This is all my way of saying ur right and this will defo come back in S3

It’s less like she’s calling out their trauma and more like identifying their weaknesses that they need to overcome in order to get stronger. Kind of like how Percy overcame their revenge.
Percy needs to stop seeking forgiveness from others and forgive himself first and foremost.
Vex needs to stop seeking familiar approval (and in my personal opinion be less of a hypocrite)
Her brother needs to be less addicted to her and be free of the barbed shackles of love.
Pike needs a Blue Lantern lesson.
The tree girl basically just needs to grow a back bone *and* have a Blue Lantern lesson.
And like the sphinx said, Scandland’s a moron, no one gives a d-n.
(Although if you ask me that “answer” they gave in the end was half-a-sed. What good is dying to prove a point if your death was unhelpful and therefore meaningless? Not giving up on the other hand I understand, but that energy needs to be better placed)

grog was banished from his family, but instead of trying to make amends
he chose to be a protector for those who cant defend themselves
a noble path, but his marauder-filled tribe continues to pillage and murder innocent lives
basically, too strong for his party/friends, too weak for his family
