When I was little, I was obsessed with denmark street. I used to get my dad, mum, uncle, or whoever, to take me to tottenham court rd station, then a gentle walk up, just to look in the shop windows, maybe have a look in the shops. I spent hours there. That street means alot to me. Cheerz for posting
This shop is brilliant. I bought my jackson DK2S here. I'm a regular here and the guys who work here are brilliant. Very friendly and sell a range of guitars, amps and your guitar accessories.
TTK, a great guide to my favourite street in my favourite city - hope you enjoyed London! I move back to the UK in the (Northern) spring and Denmark St will be one of the first places I visit. Rock on! \m/
Hi TTK, thanks for the tour. I am going there on March 23-27 and wanted to go there. From the comments underneath looks like they are really expensive, but I will pay Wunjo's a visit. Thanks to all the guys for the comments, they seem helpfull.
Nice Vid, I love Tin Pan Alley (Denmark Street). Glad to see you stopped by Vintage and Rare, LOVE that shop. They sold me a Leftie 4003 a few years back, not a scratch on it and with the original silver Rickenbaker case. Did a great price on it...almost felt like I stole it from them...although my bank manager probably wouldn't agree...but then he knows bugger all about bass and guitars!!!
Wow, I went past this place when I went to see a musical with the school but we didn't get to go in any shops :( i remembered the road name and it's now the destination of the shop of my dreams :)
That was an amazing tour! It's any wonder how all those shops manage to stay in business, what with all the sales competition they generate amongst themselves.
In the 70's fave thing for store assistants was to stick a 'wanker ' or ' kick me' sign on the back on any unsuspecting American gui-tourists who then walked up & down Oxford st before realizing it , so be thankful you visited in more forgiving times ! Most of the greats back then like Page , Green , Clapton etc were customers of "Top Gear" which became Roka's then Rockers. The rest , Orange, Rose Music , Macaris etc were for kids & tire kickers.
Did you know Mark king (level 42) worked in Macaris Music store before he came famous and Leaned his BassGuitar trade here Legend 🎸😁👍👍🎵and been privileged to see the band many times 👍👍
I love going to Denmark street, I'll be there on Sunday before going to see Avenged 7 Fold and Stone Sour, There's a great pub just round the corner by The Astoria called the Royal George, a few pints too me thinks.
I thought I had checked out your back catalogue of videos but I must have missed this one. Got to ask, did you buy anything and ship it back? I went to Denmark St when I was a kid but not recently even though I’m only 20 miles from London, it’s just to dam busy for me.
Denmark street is fucking awsome! i go ones in the 2 years specialy to london for denmarkstreet :D i really love it there :) its a pitty you didnt showed the people the bass cellar :O some of the people where not so nice to me 4 years ago but its a great shop :D next year i will by my Warwick there :) There are much more cool guitar shops in the rest of london :) i hope you have seen that 2:) it was fun to see you in denmark street :) thumbs up for the tone king!
For those of you that can, Bryant's in Denmark st is where Chris Bryant hangs out. A TOP guitarist. Get him to demo an axe or two and stand back in amazement!
When I was in London, I didn't get the chance to check out Denmark St. :( But thanks to you TTK, I get to see it all! Just something I noticed though... ya need to open your mouth when you speak, otherwise you mumble and no one can understand ya!
Dude TTK the guitar the Peter Capaldi plays in Doctor Who is in this video, when you look down at 2:50 it's the black guitar on the right. he says in an interview that he bought it on denmark street that is totally it dude!
LOOOL. The Jackson DK2S I bought is ACTUALLY in this video. look at the DK2S in transparent black at 18:04. The exact same guitar I'm holding now! I bought it a month after TTK posted this video xD
Fantastic, educational video! I've been to Macari's (I think??), but I didn't realize there were a bunch more guitar stores apparently right beside it... woops... Although I was only looking at Gibson acoustics, so maybe that's why. Looks like Music Ground has no acoustics at all. You didn't check out the lower floor of Macari's though, huh? Too many acoustics down there for ya? :P But I missed Hank's.
When you went upstairs those White guitars looked like old Ovations? It looks like there is not much room to walk around it's so jammed full of equipment. Those Squires are the ones people collect. I wonde if you were close to Andertons. It would have been cool if you had a store employee record you playing the Tone King signature riff with one of those old relic guitars. You are one Blessed person to be able to travel like that. So, how many guitars did you get while over there? LOL
Thanks ,,That was a great vid,,, But Wow, Londons Loaded with Chinese knockoffs''' The highlight for Me Was The Vox Gear & The HiWatt Stuff''' Thanks Again' It was fun to walk The Streets & See All The Cool Shops' Cheers :)
Great video man thanks for sharing. So you noticed the traffic huh try working here everyday lol. But if you come back to London check out some of the other stores around the outskirts and more away from central London, Denmark Street is well overpriced and not what it was years ago sadly. Check out Coda Music Stevenage, Peach Guitars, Andertons or GuitarGuitar in South London much bigger stores but not so much on the rare guitars. Cheers
i'm curious how did the shops compare to the u.s pawn shops for price,if you are in the u.k an american made guitar just adds at least a couple of hundred pounds to the price.I would love to go to the las vegas pawn shops to pick up a real gem
was it just me or did it seem strange that nobody was actually rocking out on some of the gear in those stores. company policy> no you cant play these guitars you can only buy them? And also i agree with the request for a demo of some more of the BlackStar Amps! those are great amps for the dough.
How do the prices compare in these shops to how they are here in the U.S? Especial guitars that are built here (U.S.) and them imported. Are they cheaper, more expensive or about the same?
You forgot the (mostly) used Gibson's store around the corner on Cambridge Circus.....I just visited the place to look after high end Les paul's Fenders etc.But no quality guitars in Denmark Street to my surprise,so I wonder-where does the collectors and pro musicians go to look after over 2000 pounds guitars ?
There is one piano shop in Denmark Street but I think from memory its digital only. You're better off going to Yamaha Music London on Wardour Street (previously Chappell Of Bond Street) which is about 10mins walks from Denmark Street, digital on ground flour, stringed pianos upstairs, music score downstairs, really good choice. the other option is the Steinway shop on Marylebond Lane just off Oxford Street, about another 10-15 minute walk.
*After I watched the whole thing. You passed the coolest shop of them all: ANGEL MUSIC, they are above Maccari's and you get there using the tiny alley just next to the main shop.
All due for destruction now in favour of a soulless corporate development focused on "gigantic advertising screens": the music shops on the north side (much of it dating from the 17th century) are facing closure, and those opposite aren't likely to keep their premises as big business moves in. The 12-Bar Club (0:46), until three weeks ago one of London's most respected music venues and boasting a rare 400-year-old forge, has already been shut down for demolition, but is presently occupied by campaigners against the scheme. So visit quick and support the locals, otherwise there won't be much left in a few months.
I'm just pleased that these shops are managing to survive. So many have closed in the last decade. Denmark St is heaven for guitarists.
These just keep getting better and better! Thank you.
TTK! Great video man! Thanks for taking the time and bringing us along with you. Cheers!
When I was little, I was obsessed with denmark street. I used to get my dad, mum, uncle, or whoever, to take me to tottenham court rd station, then a gentle walk up, just to look in the shop windows, maybe have a look in the shops. I spent hours there. Thank you, TH-cam algorithm. This 10 year old video brings back memories.
That was a great in depth tour of Denmark St. One of my favourite spots in London.
Music ground was my favorite last time I was there, I was digging up gold in parts in their basement. And found heaven on earth in the attic.
Thanks for posting! I enjoyed the tour very much.
Yep, went round there today :}, The staff are just great. At Wunjo and macaris. :}. I do hope you had a lovely time in London.
Tone King! Your living the life right now!
Rock on! \m/
Without a doubt, the best music shops on the planet.
so awesome man!! hope you had a rad trip
Nice looks like a great time! Need to check it out one day!
Hi TTK, thanks for the tour. I am going there on March 23-27 and wanted to go there. From the comments underneath looks like they are really expensive, but I will pay Wunjo's a visit. Thanks to all the guys for the comments, they seem helpfull.
Awesome. Now I can see how music ground is. Some friends of mine went there and said to me that it was awesome. I got to go to denmark street

I was looking for a video like this one, nice video thanks for share.....ENRIQUE (CANCUN MEXICO)
Wow, I went past this place when I went to see a musical with the school but we didn't get to go in any shops :( i remembered the road name and it's now the destination of the shop of my dreams :)
nice video, seem strange looking at Denmark street on here, I walk down here every day on my way to work.
I was here yesterday, it was good fun :)
Rock On! Man 🎸
Diggin' the Pantera riffin' dude!
i love going to Denmark st so many guitar shops :)
Wow. i was searching for a guitar shop whilst I was in London and found absolutely nothing! ^^
I wish I had known this before!
WUNJO Guitars - The best shop on the Street !!
Fender Squier Katana was only made in Japan, and released very sparingly stateside. It is super rare. I'm surprised you hadn't heard of it, TTK.
TTK in England, sweet as a nut :D hope you're enjoying your stay in our country :)
That was an amazing tour! It's any wonder how all those shops manage to stay in business, what with all the sales competition they generate amongst themselves.
I was 15 at the time.....walked into wunjos and they literally offered that i play a 1962 Gibson SG Junior......£2600!!!! Love that shop :')
The rest , Orange, Rose Music , Macaris etc were for kids & tire kickers.
last shop has the coolest guitars/stuff :D
Did you know Mark king (level 42) worked in Macaris Music store before he came famous and Leaned his BassGuitar trade here Legend 🎸😁👍👍🎵and been privileged to see the band many times 👍👍
Reminds me of the H.O.G. (House of Guitars) in Rochester NY but smaller.Just a clutter of guitar and amps and photos.
hey what up ttk London awesome man
OH MY GOD I MUST GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!
I love going to Denmark street, I'll be there on Sunday before going to see Avenged 7 Fold and Stone Sour, There's a great pub just round the corner by The Astoria called the Royal George, a few pints too me thinks.
@SIXSTRING63 Reminds me of the old days of going to NYC to Manny's and all the shops on 48th street.
I thought I had checked out your back catalogue of videos but I must have missed this one. Got to ask, did you buy anything and ship it back? I went to Denmark St when I was a kid but not recently even though I’m only 20 miles from London, it’s just to dam busy for me.
Denmark street is fucking awsome!
i go ones in the 2 years specialy to london for denmarkstreet :D
i really love it there :)
its a pitty you didnt showed the people the bass cellar :O
some of the people where not so nice to me 4 years ago but its a great shop :D

it was fun to see you in denmark street :)
thumbs up for the tone king!

For those of you that can, Bryant's in Denmark st is where Chris Bryant hangs out. A TOP guitarist. Get him to demo an axe or two and stand back in amazement!
The kid playing at 17:49. Sums up every kid in a guitar store ever. Couldn't watch further.
what guitar is the blue and orange one in the left corner at 1:44 ?
When I was in London, I didn't get the chance to check out Denmark St. :( But thanks to you TTK, I get to see it all! Just something I noticed though... ya need to open your mouth when you speak, otherwise you mumble and no one can understand ya!
That is london. Holy crap TTK hows you jet lag. I went there ages ago. I never saw a single music store in london. But I was not in to guitars then.
So many beautiful Rickenbackers...but ironically none at Rose Morris, whom I only know about because of the Rose Morris Rickenbacker models.
14:30 yeah that one had a white sg junior i played xd
but very nice a wsa there 2 weeks ago and its a wonderfull place
Dude TTK the guitar the Peter Capaldi plays in Doctor Who is in this video, when you look down at 2:50 it's the black guitar on the right. he says in an interview that he bought it on denmark street that is totally it dude!
LOOOL. The Jackson DK2S I bought is ACTUALLY in this video. look at the DK2S in transparent black at 18:04. The exact same guitar I'm holding now! I bought it a month after TTK posted this video xD
Regent Sounds Studio is the location where the Rolling Stones recorded their first album.
BEEN THERE!
" Vintage " Great band of guitars, not expensive and sounds great.

It will help a lot
Fantastic, educational video! I've been to Macari's (I think??), but I didn't realize there were a bunch more guitar stores apparently right beside it... woops... I rightfully see lots of photos of The Worlds Number One Group in that music shop.
Thanks ,,That was a great vid,,, But Wow, Londons Loaded with Chinese
knockoffs''' The highlight for Me Was The Vox Gear & The HiWatt Stuff'''
Thanks Again' It was fun to walk The Streets & See All The Cool Shops' Cheers :)

Op mijn bezoek in Londen heb ik de Denmarkstreet bezocht, echt een walhalla voor gitaristen.

I wanna got to London so badly...
are there any other great guitar stores in London ? Like very big ones ?
sounds like the top floor is about to collapse with all that gear. and the tone king just adds that extra feather to take it all down
i'm curious how did the shops compare to the u.s pawn shops for price,if you are in the u.k an american made guitar just adds at least a couple of hundred pounds to the price.I would love to go to the las vegas pawn shops to pick up a real gem

it's a 42nd street guitar, hand made in England, but yeah it's visually a tribute to the Jeff Beck esquire
rockers was where i got my first guitar.....jackson dinky bloody quality guitar
2:09 wow you don't mention the beatle Sgt pepper puppets
How do the prices compare in these shops to how they are here in the U.S? Especial guitars that are built here (U.S.) and them imported. Are they cheaper, more expensive or about the same?
@Epi64 wunjo guitars are sweet but you can't compare any store to vintage and rare guitars, i love the fender jaguar strat they have there
The Music Ground looks awesome! I want to go there.
00:47 i have a gig at the 12 Bar :D sooo gonna buy a guitar before the gig!
they certainly have some funky looking guitars there that you couldn't get in the US
You forgot the (mostly) used Gibson's store around the corner on Cambridge Circus.....I just visited the place to look after high end Les paul's Fenders etc.But no quality guitars in Denmark Street to my surprise,so I wonder-where does the collectors and pro musicians go to look after over 2000 pounds guitars ?

Are there many Piano shops over there in that street.

I wanna live on this street.
@acdc933ty Locals don't usually shoot film. Therefor anyone filming looks like a tourist. As for his attire, its fine.
tk u should see the guitar shops in japan.i go there every year. i work in the auto industry for toyota .i always try to pick up an axe when i,m there
did you see the vintage old tele at 15:01?
This is the best street I have brought all my guitars here
You should've gone into Hank's.!!!
*After I watched the whole thing.
You passed the coolest shop of them all: ANGEL MUSIC, they are above Maccari's and you get there using the tiny alley just next to the main shop.
That would have gone great with his Harry Potter themed corridor/alley highlights 😄
Makes me proud to be british!
