When a young Stephen Oladipupo approached his father that he wanted to stop school & play music, his dad (who was a an accomplished Building contractor in Osogbo-Old Ondo Region) bluntly refused(then musicians where regarded as drunkards,hemp smokers & layabouts with no future)saying son you will not put my reputation to shame instead face your studies & be an engineer or carpenter at least etc.After prolonged persistent pleadings & with a pledge to learn the carpentry trade which he miraculously learnt under 6mths & concluded the graduation process(what normally took 5yrs. or more).Orlando was reluctantly allowed to learn music by playing the drums in a theater group.He later met the Late Fatai "Rolling Dollars" Olagunju Rip. the rest is history as he was amongst the first Nigerian musicians to be awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music after a duperb performance in London in 1974.Live on in the hearts of those of us who love your brand of pure Juju music the "African Kenery"

same to me, I growth up with his music, I told it from my late Father at Owo in the 70s. I still love his music till now, although I left Nigeria 1982 to Europe. I will never forget this Great Man, he is true Yoruba that loved his people both at Owo and Ifon and the whole Yoruba nation as whole.
