I bought this water storage system a few years ago. I like how sturdy and portable it is! Basic plastic water and milk jugs will leak after a while. I wanted something more dependable that I could carry up stairs and put in my car if I need to leave the house. These are it! They also sell less costly cubes for dry goods that stack with these. The size and shape of these make the full carrying weight more doable than 5 gallon buckets and more efficient than 1 gallon jugs. They aren't cheep, but they are dependable. I recommend enough of these for water you will be moving or carrying or storing in an apartment. You can put a piece of ply wood on top the stack and cover it to be a nightstand or end table, or even a counter or workbench. These are VERY sturdy.

Currently using rain catchment backed up by a running stream on my property. The most important physical prep is also the hardest and most space consuming to store.

Sturdy is important. If you try to stack too many cases of water for a long period of time it can break. Ask me how I know 😂

The only issue I see with the spigot is you can only get half of the water unless it's tilted at an angle. I know for a fact that 4 Patriots makes high quality gear so I wouldn't call the spigot a deal breaker. Just my thought.

I have these. I have water in them. How can you open them? I used to have a wrench to open and close them, but now can't find it. Waterbrick doesn't have one available (they used to). I'm at a loss, and need to open these containers. I have bad arthritis and need tools to help. Oil filter wrenches don't work.

How does the water have to be prepared to be kept indefinitely and be able to be consumed without any cause for worry?

I was wondering the same thing. Do we still need water purification tablets?

Anything consumed could be contaminated, and that’s a huge concern for anyone already experiencing a challenged life and a challenged way of life. Water and food are my two main concerns followed closely by injury, illness, and evil humans. I wish great success for all who are stepping toward survival. That may prove to be an up hill battle… I hope not. We need to help each other prepare for whatever may occur. I know that natural spring’s water must be boiled… all water.

I know processed water at the stores are stated to be good a couple of months but truthfully- Who knows? I guess the expiration dates may be correct but that’s hard to say.

There are companies that sell water in mylar. Supposed to last for years.
The problem with storing water isnt that it expires, but it can start growing bacteria and algae.
This is why we flush and rotate
