Not going to lie, I was annoyed when I saw this caption in my feed. Over the last 6-months I’ve admittedly grown frustrated with my listening experience because it hasn’t done what it had done for me in the past for me. While struggling through another sleepless night driven by depression and anxiety I decided to give a listen at 4am. I didn’t expect to have the emotional response that came, but it and this was a therapeutic experience. Dan always says, people want to be around the show because it feels like your hanging out with a friends and family and I’ve never felt that more. I appreciate anyone who read this! If you can hear me, just understand I am sorry (extreme Action Bronson voice)
Jesus Christ Dan. I knew you were hurting but I never knew how deep the pain went. We love you Dan. We all love you and we all empathize. We all believe in you and things will get better. I promise.
What other personality as influential as Dan would open up like this to such a large audience? We're blessed to have you and the rest of the crew, Dan. The support and love in these comments only matches some of the support and love you've given us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, brother.
I felt extremely heartbroken to hear about the incident with Papi. His joy and laughter on HQ was truly one of the best things on ESPN, a nice break from people arguing about nonsense with the rest of what is on that channel. I hope he's on a better medication now with less side-effects and doing better.
I lost my brother and father in a three month span 12 years ago and this show helped me get thru some of my darkest times, I’ll always appreciate Dan for that, he’s been one of the most consistent things in my life for almost 20 years and I will never take that for granted, THANK YOU DAN, we love u ❤️
Dan, thank you for what you have done throughout the years. I went through a stretch the was similar, losing a child, brother, and mother within a year. It is impossible to be your best when so much trauma hits you, but you have to put one foot in front of the other, make tough decisions and not look back. Take the time you need and your audience will understand. You deserve the break for all the joy you've brought to so many. Much love.❤
I’ve never been disappointed with these guys. They’ll never know all they’ve done for me every day for 14 years now. I’m on this ride forever. No expectations, just want them to know how much I appreciate them and cherish the laughs, memories and thought provoking conversations we’ve shared along the way. Thank you Dan, Mike and team.
Grew up reading Dan in the Miami Herald and listening on WQAM to ESPN and now Meadowlark..Thank you for always being honest and me and many others will always be here to support!
Dan my brother was the one that got me into your show since the days of 790 and hoch. Your show has gotten me through some of the toughest times in my life for the last decade. I thank you for everything and I hope you can find the time to heal, no matter how long it takes. 🙏🏻
Dan, much respect for your continued transparency about your family life and the challenges you’ve experienced. You’re helping someone out here who needs to hear this openness. Hopefully that is some small consolation
Damn it I'm crying now..Dan you are loved and appreciated by all your families. You are a wonderful human and we love you and I thank you for your vulnerability. You and the show were the reason I went to broadcasting school. ❤❤
The emotional honesty that Dan shares is really what I admire about him the most. I try to emulate it, and I hope to surround myself with people who accept me like Mike Ryan does Dan. What this crew has is something special that I appreciate every day. Thank you Dan, we love you
I’m so grateful for you two…and as Mike said, you’ve built a family Dan. Praying for you, yours, and all the crew around you. Keep being you and don’t apologize to anyone. Your voice and your vision for your company and family is something that I believe…so many people believe in 🫂❤️
Dan i love you. You have helped me thru the mental health that the military put me thru during covid. You and Bomani were the only escapes i could get to to get me through it. We as listners care about you and we thank you for the vulnerability.
I was baffled by Mike's hostility in the opening to this. Like, does he not know what this is about!? Turns out, no. But I was right there with him on the baseball content. All the best, Dan and fam.
I had no idea... Dan I can't thank you and the show enough for everything you have done for me! My life and my mental health wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for this show. I love everyone with this show unconditionally and will always be praying for you!
this is the second time I’ve watched this sit-down - I watched it originally when it came out, and happened upon it again today, which happens to be the 10-year anniversary of my mom passing away. it’s crazy how timing works sometimes. thank you Dan! and thank you Mike! rest in power, Mom and LeBo!
Dan I lost my sister to cancer cut down at just 23 years old and had my dad only in his early 60s succumb also to cancer so I understand. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do is go to work at my dead end service job knowing my family was hurting and needing me. I respect you so much for working through that. I know it doesn’t feel like it now but on the other side of that shaken confidence where everything just feels off is a strength you can’t believe.
I am 29 now, but I grew up watching you guys and to be honest, you guys have been a part in the crafting of the man I am today and will continue to be. You guys represent so much good and the laughs you have given me and so many others can never be mentioned enough. To hear your father's and mother's respective story's and seeing how successful their children became must fill you with a little bit of pride. LEBO was amazing and will forever be a piece in the heart of Miami and Southern Florida - that can never be erased. I can't even imagine how much he meant to you, I don't have a brother, but the pain in your eyes shows me it hurts you still and that really is a great way to display how great of a man he was and how much you cared and loved for him. Thank you so much for all the memories and laughs you and the guys have provided.
Dan, you and your family has been part of my entertainment life for 15+ years. I hope you will have the strength to get through everything you are going through. You are in my thoughts. I am so sorry that you had those terrible things going on in your life.
I’ll follow Dan and the family he’s chosen to build forever. They’ve given me more joy and laughter than i can remember, and i truly hope Dan and those in his close inner circle find peace in these hard times.
Dan, Mike and entire cast/crew please don’t feel any extra pressure to keep up with anyone. Your relationship with audience members like myself is built on conversations like these and will always be different in that way. Few places in media exist with this level of honesty. No places in the sports media landscape give what you offer an audience every day. Thank you for your new perspective, and going behind the curtain for some serious pain and hardships you all have been dealing with. I have so much love for you Dan and Mike especially. Keep up the great work!
Love the Marvin Jones, Jr. on ramp. Seriously though, love you Danny! The way you are willing and able to open up is some brave ish. Thank you for being you and for this playpen of a show.
Dan , please be aware you are an example to follow. I admire your honesty and your vulnerability . After this past 2 years dealing with my mother that had Alzheimers and been her care taker and the process of hospice i really identify with you and your struggles .. my thought’s and Prayers to you and your family.
Dan you and the crew has brought laughter for me, for the last few years, what you just shared makes me realize what privilege is to grab joy from you. Thank you
This show has been there for me during everything. Ups, downs, best days of my life, worst days of my life, and everything in between. It's been the one constant since you guys went to the 10 AM hour after Cowherd left. I think it's why I subconsciously keep trying to Stugotz my way into this place. I owe you. I owe you for being a friend when I needed it. And seeing this just makes me want to be there even more. I know it's delusional and weird but I just want to lift you guys up the way you've lifted me up all these years.
Dan.......Thank you, As someone who Loves your work and who currently has given up my job to take care of my sick mother. I empathize with you, cuz i also hurt daily. As it would suck to not have you on daily go take care of yourself & Family, You have a Good team around you. Wishing you Love and Light during this time 🙌🏾
Dan your being true to yourself is what the real meaning of life... I have been with you guys for years and will never leave because of your honesty...
Every member of this show I get the blessing to come across, I tell the same thing. This show have gotten me through the toughest days of my life. I am eternally grateful and will be a fan no matter what. We are here for you Dan❤
DAN I love you. I don’t know if you read these but this touched a ton of people. You’re stronger than most for being this vulnerable on such a huge platform. You’re an example a good human.
New Jersey loyal fan. I’ve been listening to the show since 2010 from my trips to Miami and listening to the old podcast. I appreciate Dan, Stugotz, and the team. The show has changed but the content is still good. I’m not going anywhere. Condolences Dan for your loss.
My God. What Dan has been contending with. We appreciate your honesty in sharing. This helps other people as well. So many have struggles. Prayers for you and your family. Support you in all you do.

Wishing you comfort and strength as you continue to navigate these troubles that have unfairly made you and your family suffer.
Love you, man. Your vulnerability about corporate America and politics and your personal life -- it's everything. Lifelong fan here. This is the best. This is why you left ESPN, to create this kind of content. And this is why we're here. Thank you for it. This the best.
Just wanted to say thank you, Dan. Found the show in college studying radio, and I can truly say it's changed my life. Been blessed enough to actually work in the broadcasting business, and what you've built and the way you do it is by far the biggest inspiration. Take some time for yourself, we all love and appreciate you and how honest and venerable you've been. Your heart and care for others is what's always made the show what it is. ❤
with the amount of awful shit this show has gotten me through...im forever grateful...it means everything to me ...not going anywhere...much love to you all !!!!..
I love the show. I’m a disabled veteran that has gone thru my own trials and tribulations. This interview hit me different. I came back from Iraq as a different person. I never had felt so unsure of myself and lost. It took me years to feel like a normal person again. Just know that things get better. Everything you’re going through will make you a better person. You guys helped me get through the worst part of my life with your fun-loving segments. Much respect to you.
It takes real strength to discuss your pain and grief. I don't know you personally, but your show and who you are has made a positive impact on my life, and I am sending out thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Mike, much love to you as well. Powerful!
It is literally the easiest thing to do. People love complaining and making excuses. Every single person I'm this world deals with life. And 99 percent of us do it without money and security
“We are friends in your head “ that is such a great way to put it. Dan is such a great guy. No matter if we agree or disagree on things. I’ll always be a fan
The name Le Batard holds major weight in South Florida ...you sir are a legend and will always be supported in whatever u do. Appreciate you, keep your head up and hold us down.
We love you, Dan. Very sorry to hear about all of this. Your show brings me so much joy everyday. I want to thank you on behalf of your audience for everything you have provided us over the years. Just know you we support you through this time.
New level of respect for this man... always liked him and his take on sports... but this just reminds me that the "little" we see on camera requires a lot of work, courage and dedication to the craft. Props Dan; you have a new fan for life.
Dan I've known you for a long time man. It totally sucks that you and your family are going through this. But you have a big support group and we're here for you brother.
Dan & the show has truly helped me get through the toughest 3 year stretch of my life having lost 4 close family members & dealing with a teenage child who's going through very difficult mental health struggles I listen to TDLSWS and it's a few hours of normalcy which I truly appreciate. We love you Dan & are here with you, even from afar.
i enjoy segments like this and the best thing about this show is no matter how big it gets, they still always include the audience. sharing their personal life with us says a lot. we all really appreciate EVERYONE on this show.
Y'all helped me thru the lowest point in my life and listening and laughing for those 3-4 hours a day were everything to me. Dan you're an inspiration and should be what people strive to become. Not just cause you're successful and rich, but because thru thick and thin, from bottom to the top you are s ride or die for your boys and have never left their side and the all or nothing mentality when ESPN fired Chris, that showed the legend you are and the awesome person your parents raised. Screw what haters say, keep doing what makesnu happy and take care of yourself, you earned it.
Our condolences and love for you and your family Dan. Dealing with a loved one who's mental health is not in a healthy place can be one of the most daunting challenges to deal with especially while you're trying to maintain a productive professional life
Thank you for being open Dan.Lost my father unexpectedly 1 1/2 ago and first time in my life I’ve feel lost.Nothing makes me happy.I’m 40 years old and never have had a lost like that.I’ve been a BSO Deputy for 20 years and find it so hard to go to work.As a father and head of household I fight thru the pain. Thanks again it shows me I’m not alone in grieving🥹🙏🏽
Appreciate the vulnerability in your comment, Randy. Sorry to hear about your loss. You're never alone. Hoping it gets better for you and your family also grieving the loss.
I have been a fan of show very long time. Dan didn’t owe us this. I appreciate it though. I love this show sooooo much it’s my everyday thing. Thinking of Dan, his family, and the show
Dan, hermano… I am a fan of yours for your humanity , first and foremost! Then your voice , the messages you share interpersonal and observational have resounded with me and shaped my vantage point. Thanks for the probably unintended guidance. I’m a better man for listening !
We re here for you, Dan. To share these thoughts with Mike and for the audience means so much. The format is good. Fluff(pat macafee) is good to an extent but your team keeps it so funny and real. There is a division in America with content desires and your show has talent that does real journalism with debatable opinions
There are times to be with friends and work when you have to and when you need to. But as I've dealt with grief for almost 20 years, and not taking as much personal days as I should've taken, or the worst: having those bad days overtake your week, month, year, there has to be a time where you have to mend. Especially when you are trying to pick up the pieces. Thank you Dan.
Dan sharing his loss; is the highest compliment he gives us as the audience.
True.
too bad it’s too little too late
@@bcg5175not hating, genuinely curious what do you mean by that?
I'll hate, this dude clowned on Mike Buddenholzer when his brother died in the Bucks series. Karma is a b huh dan?
I think it's great he's sharing.

I hope he's on a better medication now with less side-effects and doing better.
Completely agree. Papi is the best love papi so much as if I knew him personally
That was crushing

Life's tough man.... Everyone you see throughout the day going through something... You just don't know about it...🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This episode is exactly why I keep watching…..no one does “this” better..:
Is it me or does Dan look great? Thank you Dan! Thank you Dan! This show is the best, even at its worst! Fist into the sea !!!

Dan, hermano… I am a fan of yours for your humanity , first and foremost! Then your voice , the messages you share interpersonal and observational have resounded with me and shaped my vantage point. Thanks for the probably unintended guidance. I’m a better man for listening !
Mike Ryan has become one of my most favorite people in sports media broadcasting. I mean, I’ve loved Dan for years, but Mike is just terrific
Whoa. Thank you for your courage, Dan. we love you brother. Thank you for sharing this with us all, as you didn’t need to do so. We LOVE YOU !!
Thank you Dan. This is nothing short of heroic. I am weeping right now.
Praying for you and your family. Thank you for the joy that you and your family bring to us, your audience.
We re here for you, Dan. To share these thoughts with Mike and for the audience means so much. The format is good. Fluff(pat macafee) is good to an extent but your team keeps it so funny and real. There is a division in America with content desires and your show has talent that does real journalism with debatable opinions
Dan, Le Batard Nation is here for you as you are there for us in rough times. We love you and your crew!!
❤ love you Dan, and thank you for hanging in there
