2:29 - 3:21 After I heard this, Reeps One became my all time favorite beatboxer. And also because of this I decided to start beatboxing. Still one of my favorite sets.
Still one of my favourite battles of all time. Reeps One at 2:29 - 3:21 is one of my favourite bits from him. Beatboxing at its best when you can actually produce a sick rhythm that you can bop to
Michael Fraser < I am who hasn't tried beatboxing at all. Go and practice for a year, then come back and listen what Skrillex did the second round. Yes reeps one's sounds better, but it was easy to pull of.

I am so glad these two are friends in real life. In my honest opinion, Skiller is much cleaner and it seems like he refines his technique a little better than Reeps, very interesting rhythms he gives a try, too. Reeps is so raw and heavy you just have to love him, and he just likes to go crazy with his beats. The combination of them both is just amazing.

+Sándor Cserni Exactly what devin said. Think of it like this; this is how it's mostly counted: 1-2 1-2 1-2-3 repeat, instead of 1-2 1-2 1-2 1-2 repeat. Instead of 9/8th which is counted like 1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2-3 repeat or 1-2 1-2 1-2 1-2-3 repeat; the 9/8th has two more 1-2's, or eighth notes in its time signature.
mitkqza That's hilarious dude, because Reeps One didn't get destroyed😂. He won in my opinion, honestly it could have gone either way as it did for Skiller
seen this video about.... 60 times and counting... and for the last 57 times... all i do is skip skiller part and listen to reeps. just to say who deserves to win.
I think that the problem here is that Reeps' beatbox style wasn't that much fit for competition at the time. The ones who win the championship are usually those who can beatbox faster or mix the most ammount of sounds at the same time. Right now, if the new and improved Reeps were to compete, I'm pretty sure he would completely own Skiller.
Its a battle, u gotta show some battle attitude dude. watch it again, not just this battle, the other battles too, then you'll understand. Peace out yo!
i agreed, i dunno how he loses, he loses when we're talking about the "faster" but i think he has a lot more sense of music and improvises a lot better too... should have been to the finals at least...if not all the way...
i think from a musical stand point reeps holds it down in this battle .. both are technically insane.. skiller dropping really complex beats and really fast beats... all really cleanly..hard to say who wins.. reeps has more diversity in his sounds and beats and his beatboxing is more "song-like", having elements like singing and basslines
i think reeps would have won if he excited his ending of his last round better . at 5:53 he started the beat really well i thought he had the battle won , but then he just kept repeating it like he didn't have noting else . thats just my opinion though .
i. Cali559. Sorry this comment is a bit late, been falling out of the community a bit. Anyway the only reason he did that is because he generally likes to be able to stay in the competitions for longer until he actually tries for the title. In the British championships he had won it twice in a row but then he dropped off in the final round against Ball-Zee in 2012. With the English champs if you win 3 titles you can no longer compete in the event as far as I know.
Gah how do you judge this one came at it with the extremely technically difficult stuff and the other with more musicality and flow. Hats off both are amazing I would hate to have to judge this.
I can watch this 1 million times, and my opinion does not change Reeps One should have won. He is so much enjoyable to listen to. Skiller has just speed and technicality. Reeps One has speed technicality, musicality and more importantly unique. Myself and and many others can vouch that there is no one on this planet better than Reeps.
Its weird to think that if reeps won he would have been in the final and potentially a world champion. Meanwhile skiller would still battle instead of judge
skiller is one of the most skilled beat boxers in the world if not the most skilled who at the same time got fast pace beat and manage to get some flow out of it something that alot of people struggle like alem who is similar with the fast pace beats but he got no flow or anything
Still one of the best battles of all time, with two of the best beatboxers of all time, with some of the most solid rounds and executions of all time, with an outstanding energy, and way ahead in quality than any other battle from this World Champs and lots of battles from current years. Truly revolutionary from the technical side of Skiller with unmatched energy and technicality, and Reeps from the passion and musical approached mixed with solid technicality as always; a genuinely clash of styles that wasn't underwhelming in any of the approaches (in opposition of, for example, Gene vs B-Art, from GBB 2021). One of the few battles, i wouldn't be able to pick a winner, too perfect from both sides. Reeps definitely, throught the Champs was the most consistent of all the participants, Skiller's rounds against Ball Zee weren't as good and inventive as his others for my taste, while Reeps maintained structure, originality and solid rounds in all of his battles. After this, well, Reeps for me is the best beatboxing has ever had the honor to have, constantly pushing boundaries and being on another level compared to any beatboxer. And Skiller is one of the GOAT's and unmatched in technical matters, not speaking of special sounds, but rhythms, while sounding absurdly polished and clean.
I personally think that skiller had a lack of musicality, but if you see that the past winners were : Zede, Skiller and Alem, you notice the judges only focusses on fast things..
he would have won if he didn't slip up at the end of his round at 5:53 . He started the beat off good .. but then he just repeated it like if he didn't have noting else .
I think if reeps had one then he would've been in an advantage against alem cause alem wouldn't be able to counter the musicality of reeps and maybe reeps could've won. @@snoopyr1953 Not at all. These people are extremely powerful and without as many sounds to learn their fundamentals are far more defined than modern day beatboxers. They can still win. Oh, and immortal is just a joke compared to them. I don't get why you'd even put them in the same sentence.
@@nasknifeboi think i was sleepy when i commented that or something, i don't think immortal could easily freestyle something like his shoutout so on stage reeps would probably win. But your second statement was a little weird, you're saying skiller can beat people like dlow, napom and such?
@@snoopyr1953 Yes. I do think skiller has a good chance of beating the top beatboxers of today. His understanding of music, his power, and his battle energy is something that can rival anyone. I haven't even mentioned his technical ability and flow yet. It's phenominal. I'm not saying he'd win 100%, but you really can't count him out as a competitor. He's a legend for a reason.
WUTTT! SKILLER IS MIND-BLOWING!!! Reeps One has skill but without even knowing the result I was giving this to Skiller. I beatbox, but like I look up to both of them in awe that is some CRAZY skill.
Wait but no after reading some comments I learned that Skiller is recycling sounds, I haven't seen enough of him to really know but I believe it, and I realized that Reeps One is much more creative, and has a more musical mind. Skiller was also being cocky and distracting during Reeps' turns, which wasn't great sportsmanship. That makes it a harder decision if I were to choose the winner.
Reeps one held back so much. He basically started beatboxing at 2:53. Dubstep beatbox is his strong suit vs Skiller's fast drums, personally, he could have won if he did more dubstep.
Ok let me set this clear, firstly to those people who are saying that soclosetotoast is the best, your opinion is a piece of shit because you guys are probably a gamer who don't know any shit about beatboxing.Secondly to those people saying that skiller is being cocky during the battle, all this is just an act to make the battle much more fun to watch.Last but not least, no matter who wins, both of them had done a really great job in spreading the beatbox artform to the whole world making the beatbox community grow bigger.
At least you're directing it towards his fanbase and not him because it's not his fault his fanbase has no idea about the actual beatboxing community personally i am not a fan of him but he doesn't deserve all the hate he gets.
People need to understand that even thi Reeps style and beatbox sounds a lot better, is a LOT easier to do. It's a beatbox battlr and Skiller has arguably the best technique and complex combos
Thumbs up for skiller! This was so long ago already!
You will winn 2015 for sure!!! :D

9/11
+Devin Mills can you explain me what is 9/8? or 1, 2, etc? I'm curious. Maybe these are some rhytm thing I guess.
Sándor Cserni time signatures. standard time signature is 4/4 (meaning one measure has 4 quarter notes). this means a 4/4 measure has 8 eighth notes. a 9/8 measure has 9 eighth notes. a 7/8 measure has 7 eighth notes. etc
uhumm, thanks! :)

It is 2017 and I still cant get enought of that
Who still watching this in 2018 ? x)
IbokRock811 yeah, always recycles :/ i also didn't like the arrogance :P
vampiricdodo Im probably the rare people who accept arrogance. Its just entertaining to see, really.
@@taktnagano fair!! Coming back to this battle - they’ve BOTH leveled up a ton - but it’s still a classic!! One of the best!
Who's here after seeing the rematch?
2017 and I'm still watching this video Daily
Reeps one held back so much. He basically started beatboxing at 2:53. Dubstep beatbox is his strong suit vs Skiller's fast drums, personally, he could have won if he did more dubstep.
I agree with you
*****
Thing is that nowadays Reeps One has improved a lot, has a good fanbase and is creative, while Skiller fell a bit behind.
João Palma basically. Reeps One was and is the best beatboxer now.
@@sunnytex1337 Yeah. Reeps One is the most refined and mature now.
Exactly!
true
At least you're directing it towards his fanbase and not him because it's not his fault his fanbase has no idea about the actual beatboxing community personally i am not a fan of him but he doesn't deserve all the hate he gets.
People need to understand that even thi Reeps style and beatbox sounds a lot better, is a LOT easier to do. It's a beatbox battlr and Skiller has arguably the best technique and complex combos
no
Devin Jones yes. true!
Almost in 2018 I still believe this is the real final and one of the best battles ever
Im still not okay that Skiller won this..
he did not win
SASS VLOGs your dumb.
Watch his second round again. Sooo sick
Swirling hair around doesn't increase your beatboxing skill smh.
