Sally Wainwright is the best writer on television. Every single one of her shows are the most real, effortless things to ever grace our screens. So pure and so real
I adore this show..coming from California..I find your British show depict family so far more realistic than our shows.....and your characters in particular are so real and approachable....I love to see all the generations interacting with all the warts in view....it’s great to see my older generation not being forgotten, but rather showing us as still feeling all the same emotions as everyone...just older...I love your show...I wish it could go on...everyone is great....
I particularly enjoy the fact that the actors look like REAL people. There's no obvious plastic surgery or facial injectables like you see in EVERY American show or movie. This cast probably couldn't make it as lead characters in any American production because they're too real looking.
We need more women writers and directors/ unfortunately in the US it’s still a mediocre male will get the job over a talented female writer or director
Sir Derek Jacobi is a true acting legend. He is fantastic in this series, and is the main reason why the show is so enjoyable and watchable. God bless you Sir.
Because of the lock down I have been rewatching this brilliant series. It is the testament of the excellent writing and acting that even though I have watched it many times I am still in floods of tears in series 3
Just found this little gem of a show and binged the whole series! Looking forward to season 6,7,8 &9 😀. Excellent writing, acting, production and casting 🔥🔥🔥
Just finished watching this on iplayer. Feel so sad it's all over. Just loved it so much. Wonderful acting and such lovable characters. PLEASE can there be another series. Really hope so.
I regret that Nina Sosanya does not "do" interviews as such. Very talented actress and I hope we see her in other productions. I cried in this one . . . . .
i know right. i was mad when that lady didn't want to help Gillian pay off the roof. i can understand she was upset because she felt like her husband did it behind her back and didn't talk about it. but "wanting" a new kitchen is not the same as "needing" a new roof. she already had a kitchen. she just didn't like how it look. Gillian was struggling with children living in her house. but i guess it was a good thing she was planning to leave. that barn was messing her up. Nicola and Sarah are my favorite. i'm glad that lady gave in at the end. or at least, i think she did.
@@blakefletcher9834 I use to live in New Market many years ago. . . My cable does not have BBC and I miss it very much!! Is "If you don't pay We take it away still on?
Carolyn Rude ‘Can’t pay, or we’ll take it away’ is still shown on Channel 5 in the U.K. i think it might have also been featured on Netflix. However, if you are missing it, your are in the right place, you will find full episodes on TH-cam, enjoy!
It won't. The BBC and ITV, like most establishments like The Disney Channel etc, are not renewing licences for Netflix viewing, as they are putting their content on subscription channels where they believe they can make more money and compete with the likes of Netflix. The licence for The Last Tango in Halifax ended around October/November 2019 with Netflix. If it is not already there, the likelihood is it will end up on the subscription channel, BritBox. This is said to show a back catalogue of BBC & ITV dramas (box sets) and programs
I got hooked on it recently. My problem is being able to understand what they are saying, the accents are killing me and so often the characters talk very softly, don’t enunciate clearly. I even tried cranking up the volume, that didn’t work. Other times, they talk too fast and I miss a lot of the conversation. I don’t think this can be corrected at this point, just wanted you to know, the audio is a problem in trying to follow the story.
Just finished binge watching this, what a show! Adored Alan, he was my favourite. Liked Gillian but she didn’t treat herself that well with sleeping with different men. She is much better than that
"Iggle-piggle, Iggle Onk... we're going to catch! The Ninky Nonk/Pinky Ponk!" For Ninky Nonk: "Oh no! It's the Ninky Nonk! Catch the Ninky Nonk!" For Pinky Ponk: "Come on, Pinky Ponk" Why did he do In The Night Garden?
What a horrible barrel bottom scraping mess this last series is! Wainwright is really pandering to the lowest people with the themes in this present and hopefully last reincarnation of what 4 years ago was nice hour's viewing. Eveery scene has the same agonized angry faces seen on Crossroads but without Benny or Miss Diane's charm! Wainwright needs to start writing for Coronation Street.
Some of the most believable, effortless acting I’ve ever seen
when I finished this series I was sad because I'll genuinely miss this cast of characters...so well written and acted...a gem of a tale!
Only recently discovered Last Tango and watched the whole series in a couple of weeks. Fantastically relatable, excellent dialogues and fabulous cast!
Me too 😍
Same here!!❤
Same!

Oh, please! Bring them back. Most brilliant show ever!!

I loved it when it was on Swedish TV, great actors and a great manuscript, Nicola Walker... wow!
Beautiful series, amazing acting, heartfelt and exceptional. So familiar to just about every family member that I have.
I just discovered tango 3 weeks ago and I am in love with the characters.
Absolutely FABOULOUS!!!!!!!
Hubby and I loved this show. Glad I could have subtitles... and I did use a British slang dictionary quite often. Oh Bullock's!
😂 bollox! Regularly used in Ireland also.

AMAZING Series. Totally Lovable Cast. I have dvd set. Im wearing it out 😁💕
fabulous realistic story I love Sarah Lancashire in this!
Nicola Walker... my fav. She's just amazing as Gillian.

I find her the same in everything she does. Same mannerisms, same pauses and hesitations in her speech, etc.
Lovely programme. One of the best series ever

1:57 wtf spoiler alert lmao
The most dysfunctional group of people I've ever seen, but I just loved it!

Why did he do In The Night Garden?
They almost drink as much as we Yanks.
I love my small family but I don’t like them at all.... sorry 😐 xxxxx
Sarah has really put the weight on
