- Every wondered what the tallest buildings were on your Minecraft server? well that's exactly what we did, and with that question it lead us down a path to creating a render showcasing the 100 Tallest Buildings In Minecraft from our Terra 1912 Server.

From skyscrapers to churches, from columns to train stations this list has a wide collection of buildings to see and take inspiration from.
the by-product of making the render was setting up a list of 100 buildings, set out from shortest to tallest. So in this I will be making my way down the line up and telling you some interesting facts about each. Buckle up and grab some snacks as it's going to be a long one!

@@ianvanessen9356 all the blocks we use are in the vanilla game. as we build in creative mode with cheats enabled it allows us to make use of the debug stick and the various states of blocks. They are not impossible blocks, just not available in survival

This is honestly an amazing idea, I could see more build servers doing this in the future
In the Japanese pagoda builds the top portion is called a Sorin 相輪. In English, it’s the shaft or finial piece that sits on top of the main structural support that runs through the middle of the building. They are extremely heavy, most of the time built out of bronze and some are taller than 10 meters! Sorin offer symbolism to the gods or relics that are worshipped in the nearby shrine complex with different shapes and height.
When I was a child, my dad used to tell me that they rotate the angel on the citrus press on new year's eve. He obviously made it up, but I like to think it's true.

That cover is perfect, I always look at that image from 1913, I also saw one with Trafulgar square and Titanic compared along the side. It's such a treat to draw that depiction, and even better to have it come to life in Minecraft, while also being the entire building. Phenomenal job is an understatement, this is a beautiful work of art.
21:12 and now you know how Victorians felt, the largest building absolutely felt like the largest thing they could possibly build.

St. Paul's Chapel in New York is, indeed, placed the right way round as it currently exists. It's easy to be confused, though, as the chapel was initially built facing the other way before being rearranged inside and out to face Broadway in the early nineteenth century.
It all looks absolutely insane! Time to make sure my builds arent years old anymore haha
For the king house at #94 how was the sandstone cornering done? Is it another retextured trapdoor?
Lanwan has made those corner bits (quoins) using sandstone walls, debugged to have the sides set to “low”
These are absolutely stunning! I love Georgian and neoclassical architecture, so this fits the bill perfectly! No. 96, on the first floor, there are some small gaps in between the blocks. How are they made?
hey!! I used debugged diorite walls to get that effect. you can debug walls with the debug stick. set them to "low" in opposite directions to get the effect :)
Id love to see the full strasbourg cathedral, even though its a build only meant to look good from afar as the dizzying mess of of levers, and such wont be so good looking up close. It just doesnt get enough credit for how much there is going on really.

How do you build so tall? I assume that your terrain must be very low down to allow such height or maybe you have a mod to increase build height?
This line up is set up at the bottom of the world, so there’s only 3 blocks between the black concrete and bedrock
On #94 how did you do the corners of the exterior where it is a latte Ron like bricks

You can still do the iron trapdoor trick in vanilla/console by using a piston 👍🏽

Can you use Distant Horizons?
It used too much of my pc’s ram to do that and record etc
1:38:14 in order for a structure to be considered a building, it has to have at least 50% of its height occupied by habitable floors. So no, one cafe unfortunately does not warrant the Eiffel Tower to be a building!

Honestly the Eiffel Tower came too early, the Woolworth building and the MetLife building were the tallest in the world at one point plus the Eiffel Tower didn’t get built like 2-3 decades after this time period but I mean it isn’t real history. ( EDIT, I was thinking about something else)
You do realise the Eiffel tower was build in 1889 and the Woolworth and Metlife were complete after 1910
