- In this video of the Fix Info series, we talk about making a vertical restriction using intersecting lines we created using the fix page. The first video is here • **Fix INFO!** Part 1 I...
This current example is made with use of the Toliss A321.
Brilliant video, always wondered how to do this on an Airbus. Thank you Captain!
Thank you Q8! Your legacy continues to live on! I just created some of my first ortho using your video from 3 years ago ;) Stay healthy my friend!
Phantastic! I looked for this tricks a couple of days before. I enjoy your videos and explenations because your background as a real pilot is amazing and very exciting! Thank you Captain, too!!
Man,, I love this ,, So much to learn...
Stay safe, take care of you family
Thank you friend, you as well! Stay healthy
Cool. Love these tricks with the MCDU. Now, remembering them....
The requireement of pulling heading depends on the FMGS software and version. With some Thales FMGS, if you want to create a fix info point BEFORE the next waypoint in the flight plan, you will have to switch to HDG/VS mode. In this regard, the sim is accurate.
Wicked! Thank you it was so helpful i just completed my TR.
Now i know more about my new Toliss A321. Tnx cpt.
this was awesome. going to try it with the fenix in msfs.
Thanks a lot! Will try this out on my Fslabs A320 tomorrow.
Thank you, Captain. I love to learn this. It's sad that FF does not simule this in MCDU A320 (my favorite aircraft). May be one day... Stay save and take care!
agreed! maybe some day they will come through with their promise.
Thanks V1 excellent video. Stay safe!
Hey V-1, I dispatch for NK. When first starting with the company, I mentioned to some of the pilots when jumpseating that one thing that put me in favor of Boeing was that it could auto descend whereas Airbus couldn’t. They explained to me that there is a little trick that can be done to make to make the Airbus auto descend. Something about haven’t the A/C cross T/D 50FT lower than CRZ ALT or something. Obviously it’s not a SOP and couldn’t show me. So, I’d like to ask you to do a video on this trick if you know of it. Thanks man. And hope we all come out of this covid mess soon and get back to normal ops.
Even in real airplane sometimes depending on the fmgs version we have to pull HDG to insert the fix info and then push NAV.
yea it's because the intersection was going to become the next waypoint. In this case the Airbus always wants you to select heading first because in theory your active leg changes, even if the course does not change
Very helpful thanks! Could you possibly do a video on creating route offsets to avoid storms/heavy precipitation? Thanks
Noted for a future video thanks for the topic ;)
Thx for video. By the way can we use PD point instead of this? What ı mean is that we can enter KPHX-30 then we can see the Place Distance point like waypoint.
that you have to pull Heading is totally accurate to the real Airbus. It's because the intersection was going to become the next waypoint. In this case the Airbus always wants you to select heading first because in theory your active leg changes, even though the course does not change
Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank U
Hi, man.
Greeting from Moscow, Russia. You are great with this and other videos.
Thank a lot, because I'm just learning how to fly A321 Toliss. I have some questions, may be you can help me (may be not here if it is impossible):
1. When we programming our descent phase we put QNH data (with temperature, wind...). Crossing transition level we also put QNH on panel. It's clear. But in Russia we are given QFE. Would be any conflicts if we put QNH in MCDU in descent phase and QFE in panel? Of course we can request QNH but...
2. When we programming MCDU before start we need to put wind info. "Request wind" in Toliss does not work correctly. We can take all info in Simbrief, but how to put it correctly? Simbrief gives at any waypoint and climb/descent wind info at five FL. Should we put all or maybe just average as in 737?
3. What is the right movements after misapproach? Ok: positive rate, flaps, gear up, autothrotle, autopilot. And we are going as it is set in MCDU and charts. But what then: activation secondary plan? correcting primary plan? Just imagine that now vectors from disp (however I think it is impossible)
Thanks a lot,
I'm Pavel
hallo, how about if i put /-30kphx than constrain the speed and alt ??
If we are already tracking direct to a fix, cant we just go in the F-PLAN page and use Place/Dist. technique to create a custom waypoint and then put the constraints in? For example if we just type in KPHX30 and insert it in the flight plan, wouldn't it work in the same way?
Aman Chauhan there is a format that works to create a waypoint if you are direct to the fix, and works quite well in most situations. I will cover that method as well. And tbh I’m not sure I’ve even tried if the P/B/D method is modeled on the Xplane buses
what if its not intercepting your course?
8:05 Whats the music used?
Why the first step--HDG mode?
When modifying a route segment that the aircraft is currently navigating too it wants you to select heading so the aircraft doesn't inadvertently turn when you hit insert in the MCDU
Can it be possible that you could make a video of like a takeoff with a Airbus or something like that or is this channel only X-Plane 11? Or will you post some vlog/real life aircraft videos like plane spotting or a face reveal?
its a delicate balance of what is legal and what is not. I do post RW photos from time to time on the community tab
Pitty FFA320 does not implement this functionality
agreed it is a pitty
Very helpful, thanks!
