    Deni Avdija is best as a point forward. he played PG at high-school. they've changed his role from SF to point forward after the TDL and his numbers went to 20ppg 6apg 8rpg at that part of the season. ending with 15 6 4 the all season. True shooting 60%.

    Wizards fan - I love Deni, creative, tough - incredible defense - guarded PF + PG. Incomplete description of trade, here it is: Deni Avdija to Blazers for Malcolm Brogdon, the No. 14 overall pick, the second-most favorable of their three 2029 first-round picks (originally their own, Boston's and Milwaukee's) + two second-round picks." Funny guy. Win for both franchises.

      I think as a Blazers fan it is a great trade for Portland. Because Blazers have been weak in their Forward positions for a very long time. Getting a starter quality, huge upside, dual threat hybrid forward, it is worth us giving up the picks. Because I think Grant will be traded or someone else. To recover picks. Blazers will ge fine there. But to get a 23-year-old forward who fits in with the team age and advancement and with team control til 2027. Amazing. But Brogdon I really like. And for the Wizards they got things they needed in this trade. It was good for both teams. Blazers don't need a vet with his contract value. Grant is probably gone next. So it is a win for both.

    • @CruiseDude1

      @@patansy3455 Exactly, it's win for both franchises, the best kind of trade. The Wizards are anchroing their rebuild with Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr (both 19), and the youngsters they just drafted. Deni's contract will be up before the Wizards are any good and it just makes sense for both teams.

      Wizards obviously lost the trade.
      Trading a future allstar for useless late 1st round picks in 2037 .

      Without Deni 1 win

    • @patansy3455
      @patansy3455 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @modax0 Brogdon is a really good player and role player. If he isn't flipped, he put up similar numbers as Deni last season as 6th man and part-time starter . He will do anything to help his team and is a great teammate. So if he stays in D.C., you have a new quality player and draft picks. Or flip Brogdon and Wizards will get good assets in return for him as well. He is older but has no major injury history that I know of, and he was voted 6th man of the year in Boston before going to Portland . He is a great role player in Portland, too. And mentored young players as well.

    It makes absolutely no sense to trade Ayton right now. He has two years left on his contract through the 2025-26 season which is the right amount of time to figure out what they have with Ayton & Clingan and how to proceed.

  • @timg4146
    @timg4146 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Best case scenario this year....
    Clingan is clearly the COTF, but splits time with Ayton and we trade Ayton for assets in the offseason.
    Avdija is an answer on the wing and a point of attack defender we've not had for years.
    Sharpe stays healthy and takes that next step as a consistent 20/5/5 guy that shows above-average D.
    Scoot shows the end to the season wasn't a fluke, improves his 3, and comes out as a 15/5/10 facilitator, freeing us up to trade Ant at the deadline.
    Out for the future: Grant/Ant/Ayton, adding additional ammo to build in the future, as well as Billups, who's a horrible coach.
    Those 4 (Clingan/Avdija/Sharpe/Scoot) are clear pieces of the future, but the team still struggles enough to be a bottom 3-5 record, and win the lottery, taking Cooper Flagg, who will eventually be the best player on the team.
    Scoot
    Sharpe
    Avdija
    Flagg
    Clingan
    That's a starting 5 that could be dangerous as early as 2026.

    • @KevinWheeler-c9v
      @KevinWheeler-c9v 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A little wishful getting flag, the bottom 3 teams have a 14% chance at #1 overall. Blazers might be bottom of the draft, but there are 3 East teams that could easily be worse. I like where this is going, and I love the lineup in theory, agree with all the trades. We definitely have to thin out the 5, (RobWill, Ayton sent for max value, I keep Reath for depth). I'm super excited about Avdija, might be my favorite player going forward. Great fit. Love Clingan's defense, love how we can play him off ball offensively. Hoping Scoot and Sharpe develop in a big way, both have huge ceilings. This young squad might be just slightly too good to land the top spot for 2025, not sure if we end up in the bottom 3. Probably bottom of the West, but Brooklyn/Detroit/WA are going to be tough to beat to slide into that bottom 3 14% situation.

It's obviously much better since we got Clingan as well but the type of player Deni is is rare in the NBA, especially considered his contract and age. I'm excited to see how much better defense will be with Scoot, Sharpe, Camara, Deni, Clingan on the court at the same time. Offense will be much more well rounded and versatile as well.

    The first rule in a good trade is don't be desperate. I don't think It's urgent to trade Grant or Ayton in this summer. Deni is used to play with dominant forward like Kuzma, so he can play with Grant. Clingan probably can't play more the 20 minutes in his first season (he used to play 17 minutes last season in much more friendly schedule and pace then the NBA). There is a time to find the best offer. Simons probably will be traded soon. I think Blazers are might be ready to the playoff in 25-26 season.

    Clogging the middle can be mitigated with ball and player movement. Centering on a three offense requires consistently high 3-%, which is over rated. Players with high 3-% don’t acquire it consistently either, they’ll have a 60% night, then a 25% or less night. It’s a chaotic way to run a consistent offense. Live by the three, die by the three.

    Pissed off Wizards fan... but congrats to the Blazers. Avdija ain't the guy to get you to the promised land, and probably won't ever be an All-Star (although he's done nothing but get better every year, so who knows?), but even if he never gets better than he was last year, he's a solid two-way player - a starter on a contender.

  • @itsabadbadbadmovie4457

    I do not see it means the end of DA, it cold be, but it is not as certain as many are saying. 1: Clinton is still young and will be off the bench. 2: Although both centres, two different kind of players. DA shoots more, loves the 15 ft shots offence rebounds. Clingan is more rim protector and offensively more of a pick and roll or dunks. So they can fit the team in different ways. I think the more likely scenario why DA would go if Time Lord was to keep healthy and play well. I do think Clingan and Scoot could be special.

Clingan is good posting up, but everyone says he won't get touches on the block like he did in college. So, I eliminated that part of the clingans game in my comparison.
