    It is not so easy to handle fiber optic cable and perfect splicing skills in fiber optic industries. These are two markable skills to be taken care of very consciously. I am from India having expertise in fiber optic splicing techniques. I'm retired from an FO R&D sector, but able to serve in this field very successfully. Thanks

    How much does this whole setup cost from the vault roller to the fiber optic puller

  • @chargerfan2
    @chargerfan2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If it's close enough to rod, you can pull that fiber in by hand. I'm sure that was less than a 1000'. I've used that machine on runs over a mile.

    Thanks for that, very informative. One question - shouldn't the optic cable puller and other devices be covered to avoid rain?

      Those industrial machines run of gas with little electrical components in them(the starter for the engine ). They are made to work in the rain.

    Step 1: Rod the conduit. Step 2: Tape cable to rod and pull through. Step 3: Enjoy the time saved and have a cup of tea!

      i'm sure they can buy/install pre roded conduits

    • @stevelinzey
      @stevelinzey 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dario Ampuy the conduits don't need to be rodded. They come with mule tape already blown in.

      Or you use a blowing machine. Alot easier than using this conduit puller.

      Anton Stener a shop vac and plastic baggy on some line will usually get through. Our mule tape broke last week when pulling 7700ft underground on an 18,000ft run. We had 9000ft one direction to the first splice in the air and 9500 the other direction, 7 vaults total, 4 90s. We were going through 2 90s when the mule tape broke and the vault we were pulling to was 1500ft away from the vault the fiber was being pulled from. All they give us are 20,000ft reels regardless of how long the run is, usually it’s 288ct. On that run we had 3k extra foot which is average in this project. Also they placed a vault directly next to the riser pole instead of just going straight up it for the other 1800ft of aerial to the splice that direction.

      Gotta pull 3000’ of 432 count fiber through 6 different manholes whose conduits have been filling with dirt since the 80s tomorrow with only 2 other guys. Ima just use the mini ex track. My hands would simply fall off.

      I live in the second largest city of Austria and still have 7Mbit/s over VDSL Long Range. We are nearly the last place in the EU in terms of FTTH connections.

      25 starting pay here in Colorado. You earn your money but we're working 60 hrs a week and the money is great. Went from HVAC to fiber pulling and directional drilling, it was a great change.

    HOW TO PULLER A CABLE

  • @CHB94
    @CHB94 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's kind of hard to pull it with only your hands.
    and its easy that the Fiber cable might break.
    There for. machine :D

    • @jamiepatterson1214
      @jamiepatterson1214 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the distance of the inner duct run and whether the interior of the duct is smooth or ribbed. And if someone remembered to bring the polywater or whatever pulling lubricant being used.

    i bet it would suck if somebody tried servicing a fiber optic cable under tension and it snapped spraying them in the face with a bunch of super super thin pieces of glass haha oops

    • @TBinTHAfknBlock
      @TBinTHAfknBlock 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have no idea what fiber optic cable is or what's inside it. lol let me tell you buddy it ain't glass...

    • @stevelinzey
      @stevelinzey 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gixxer BestInEP but it is glass. Corning glass is the most popular.

    • @jamiepatterson1214
      @jamiepatterson1214 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would work on a fiber cable under tension because it isn't allowed to be under tension. It's like pulling copper cables through conduits. Both are under during the pull but relax after the pull.
      And if a fiber cable breaks, then someone screwed up and allowed an excessive amount tension to build up during the pull. There wouldn't be a spray of glass particles hitting anyone. The cable is being pulled laterally, so any break would be a lateral break. The cable would literally be pulled apart.
