    I like that you mention the bigger bike. I just went from a Trek Fuel to a Trek Slash and it makes the chunk seem so much easier

      For sure. I tend to prefer being "overbiked," although I don't think of it that way. It's just "right-biked" to me.

      I haven’t been there myself since the rains because I’ve been running Palm Canyon most weekends. But I heard a report that it’s open and in good condition.

      Spring and summer, rattle snakes are common in this area. I see one in about every ten rides in this park. That said, look at the trail from a satellite view to understand how it gets its name.

      They leave you alone if you leave them alone. It's pretty cool to see one when hiking out there. They can be big!!
