Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)

MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO.
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAC.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro is
makes everyone smile.

I hate her for what shes done to gentaro. Even if its not totally her fault. The neglect and then pure discrimination when kintaro was born has had horrible effects on gentaros growth.

@@jonathanjacobs8989 It is a challenge for any mom to care for 2 children. Newborn comes first. This is the case with humans as well. Gentaro got 7 years of love from Genki. She did not turn him away when he returned to the troop at 10 months. That is saying something for Genki. Most gorilla moms would have rejected Gentaro. Also Momotaro accepted Gentaro as well.
@@jonathanjacobs8989what Genki did was totally normal! Gorillas aren’t Mama’s boys like humans! Once they reach a certain age, mom’s part of raising them is done. She hands him off to the father to train him to be a silver back! He then leaves the troop & never return. The End!
Genki is smart.... She knows the others don't like the cold and the snow... so except for Kintaro and his short visits, she can eat undisturbed!❤️🥬🥕🥦

Not sure why they didn't construct the enclosure to a more natural setting like other zoos. Gorilla's don't live on steel beans in the wild.

Momotaro blocks the doorway and then steals Gentaro's branch as he's trying to get inside. Too funny. And I'm sure Genki spent a lot of time outside, braving the snow and cold, to have some peace and quiet away from the family.
A lot ppl misinterpreted their Momotaro actions. He took the branch so Gentaro would stop eating and come in out the rain😊
