Amy still sounds amazing. Love this version. I used to listen to this song all the time before I got saved. Amy was my first Christian concert and I didn't even know what a Christian was haha. Rich Mullins was the opener how cool was that???

I saw Amy in about 1987 at the Entertainment Centre. It was great! Didn’t know about the Opera House thing was O/S. Australia was in a big downturn. People didn’t have disposable income.
Amy Grant and David Meece came to town (The Straight Ahead Tour) immediately after my daughter was born (40 years ago) My daughter was three weeks old and slept through the concert despite being in the 9th row. (Yes, I protected her ears.) Lead Me On wasn't released until four years later. Many many years later, my daughter and I met Rich Mullins after he and Mitch McVickers performed in a small church in town. I was surprised there wasn't a bigger venue, nor were more people around because he was such an amazing musician and songwriter. Two months later, Rich passed away in a most horrific way, and I miss him and his music so much. Looking forward to seeing him and Keith Green at the Resurection.

I love 4K&C, and Amy is my ALL-TIME fave artist, but the original version is FAR better & MUCH more impactful. This is still decent, though.....
Ironic that they're singing with Amy when it was her tour that made them lose everything and have to come to America. And also that Rebecca was signed by Eddie Degarmo when their dad turned him down for Amy.

That's such an inaccurate statement. How could the 1990 recession in Australia possibly be Amy Grant's fault? It was a really bad recession. Banks collapsed, so many people lost their jobs, many foreclosed on their houses. The problem was their father was in a risky business. When things turned out well, he was really successful and they lived nicely. But he took a risk and overextended himself, expecting a big payoff. Australia was not in the recession yet when he landed the Amy Grant concert, but by the time the concert came around, the recession was really bad and people couldn't afford the tickets. He couldn't cover his costs. I heard she actually gave him quite a break and kept costs as low as she could (not sure if that's true). But she certainly wasn't the cause, even indirectly, of the dad's financial troubles. That's a completely illogical conclusion to draw. If anything, the movie didn't paint Carmen in a very good light at all. He seemed to go back on his word to their dad.

They were fine until the dad took on promoting HER concert and then the recession happened and people couldn't afford tickets. Do you not understand what "indirectly" means?

Great, incredible musical performance but the lyric is really serious and it seemed like the emotion wasn’t consistent with the theme. For example, the line “labeled w a golden star” wouldn’t warrant a smile?
It’s a reference to the Star of David that Jews were forced to wear. The train was a one way trip to the death camps.

Why did they have to sing with her? Their dad lost everything because of her. Doesn't make sense!!!! And she twists the Bible to what she wants it to say.
It wasn't Amy personally who was responsible for their father's losing his company. Australia experienced an economic downturn right about that time as well as other factors. And, even if it was her tour, isn't that what forgiveness is for? And, the fact that they are singing together is an amazing example of how God directs our steps-if their family hadn't lost everything and had to come and experience the things they did in the U.S., would they be the incredibly successful music group (and Rebecca) that they are today? How cool that it has come full circle and they are singing with Amy.
Always loved this song…. Too bad Amy openly supports LGBTQ. I feel like I can’t trust any of my favorite Christian musicians anymore to stand in the Word of God and stand for hard truths and holiness above popularity 😔. So many of my heroes have broken my heart. I’ve been hoping for King and Country would stand. Seems like Skillet’s one of the only bands standing on the Rock.
