Timpani Rebuild: Inspection and Plans, Ep. 1 - DK Percussion

We bought a set of early American Drum Company (Walter Light) timpani and have plans to document the process of overhauling them! This will include everything from caster replacement, hoop replacement or modification, all the way up to paint and head installation.
In this episode, we do a brief inspection of the mechanical system, learn about the frames and bowls, and start making a "to do" list, which will start with wheel installation and new hoops and heads. Eventually, we'll document making various parts so you can follow along!
