Sadly after the American invasion all roots to Spain where systematically obliterated by the USA . Whilst Spain in 1776 came in help of the North American Colonies when they fought for independence from the British , the USofA , just 122 years later , in 1898 betrayed Spain ( and the Filipino by becoming an occupying power ) !! .
