She did say that she plans a lot of events. Maybe she's a party planner and this is just what she would normally do. Also I have a big family so something like a 4-year-old's birthday party would involve at least 50 people and we like to do decorations and lots of food. So this honestly isn't too crazy
Birthday parties are events yes, especially when you invite family and friends. Most families now just have close family and a single friend, but not all. This is how it’s usually done, though mostly for milestone/significant birthdays. Which this prolly is for them

I don’t think everyone was supposed to take this literally you know? This is just what this one particular mom did. Not what we are all expected to do.
