Borongan - Padul Ong Festival 2019

Every September 7, the people of Borongan celebrates Padul-Ong Festival, A mythical presentation of how the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary was mysteriously transported to Borongan from Portugal. The image of the Blessed Virigin Mary is then taken to Borongan Port from Punta Maria through a fluvial parade and paraded around the city proper. The festival, considered one of the highlights of the city’s fiesta celebration.
