Yep, Camaztoz is something else. He is a reflection of Ritsuka as well. The final master of humanity. However, he lost everyone and is the last one that managed to hold ORT back. Then for millions of years after, he has been driven to madness as he drowned in the loss of all that was dear to him. Seeing humans again, and hearing the existence of Proper Human history must have been a jolt. To think that mankind actually should have thrived and prospered as a species probably shook him. That’s probably another reason why he wanted to take Ritsuka’s place. Instinctively he wanted to fight for humanity.
