This is what my teacher taught me when I was in school. I promised her that I will follow all of these. And I follow all of these.
1.Try not to flush ,the entire flush tank. Instead use water with a mug.
2. Do not keep tap open while you brush and wash hands.
3. Try to make showers shorter.
4. Try to use water in little portions instead of pouring all water at once.
5.Try storing rain water and wash hands and dishes where you have a provision to divert it towards backyard trees or garden.
6. Try to reuse reusable water.
7. Try sending cars to the car wash.
Try to conserve and sustain as far as possible. I understood the seriousness as a kid and I thank my teacher for making me realize.All of the above were simple and easy to follow. So anyone can follow them. Let's save water- Save life.

We are already in 2074 situation here in Chennai
The main reason for this elevated issue is IT Companies. They are recruiting atleast 10 people a day even there is shortage. They should have thought for alternatives but, never did so. And you know the government. So, here is the problem, we need to find solution which is decentralization.

To cultivate
1 kg Vegetables - 300 to 500 liters.
1 kg fruits - 400 to 800 liters.
ragi, jower and sajju - around 800 t0 1000 liters.
Millets - 500 liters
i am from karnataka and Karnataka goverment is promoting more millets, vegetables and fruits to eat.
Rice is consumed more in telugu speaking states and if people are more concerned about water problem then there are very good solutions. Hyderbad and Bangalore tops in millets consumption because telangana and karnataka governments are promoting use of more millets and there are more health benefits (watch kadar vali videos)

yes so damn true.... never realised the severity until this year, where there was a severe shortage in our area nd v were getting only 4-5buckets of water for nearly 3months.. never experienced such drought in my 10yrs of staying at Hyderabad.. seriously guys v need to wake up... v shud take a series of steps like ground water recharge, rain water harvesting, reducing plastic usage nd a lot more.... v need to b more conscious of each nd evry small deed v do to save our ecosystem thereby preserving it for our next generation before it's too late... v hav been too reckless till now but its high time v stop taking the natural resources for granted... act now, right away...
